Radio Interview:

How to Protect Your Child from the New Age & Spiritual Deception

Chapter 3. Schools and the War on Christianity  p. 23-40

A fifth-grade teacher in Colorado placed a wide assortment of books in his classroom for students to enjoy during daily reading times. When a parent complained that two of the 239 volumes were based on the Bible, the principal told teacher Ken Roberts to remove them.  A judge upheld the school’s order to censor the two books from the classroom. In school the children could legally read books on Buddhism, Indian religions, and Greek mythology—but not on Christianity. (53)

The message is: Christianity is bad, New Age spirituality is fun, enlightening, empowering, etc.

What is the New Age? p. 23-40

“When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone ...who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist.... For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord..." Deut. 18:9-12)

The New Age shuns Christianity but welcomes all other religions. Each person adjusts what he already belief, adds the desired ingredients and finds himself immersed in the counterfeit. Almost any combination works (p.23-24):

The New Age is essentially Satan's alternative for Christianity-- packaged in any wrapping the would lure the gullible seeker. It's a ruse that promises children power, wisdom and a deceptive self-esteem, but instead its dark gifts eventually bring fear, darkness and rage.

Satan can counterfeit almost any good thing God gives us. Three major thrusts toward global society:

Never went away. Was assimilated into our culture through occult books, movies, computer games, videos, and public classroom. Though schools and entertainment, children across our nation became mentally and emotionally addicted to dark thrills and stimuli that would began to blind young minds to God's Truth and realities. (Bill Clinton's Governor School, see p. 28-29, 32)

Spiritual War: New Age leader, Dick Sutphen wrote:

"One of the biggest advantages we have as New Ager is, once the occult, metaphysical and New Age terminology is removed, we have concepts and techniques that are very acceptable to the general public. So we can change the name... and open the door to millions who normally would not be receptive."(p.36)

It mocked Christianity and traditional values but welcomed sex, lies, occult thrills .... anything that would twist or abolish Biblical Truth. This was spiritual warfare; a unseen battle unfamiliar even to Christian families.

Chapter 4. What Can Parents Do About the War on Christianity?  p. 41-52

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)

Step One: Be alert and always keep on praying. Jesus said, "Without me you can do nothing!" (John 15:5)

Chapter 5. Schools & the Promotion of Corrupting Values?  p. 53-66

Peer relationships usually implies common values. A Christian child who refuses to conform to the new standards for social unity is likely to face ridicule and separation. While some are able to take stand and follow their conscience; others can't bear the pain of separation and ridicule.

Today's students learn early to mock Christianity and traditional values but welcome sex, lies and occult thrills. This is spiritual warfare; an unseen battle that seems unfamiliar even to Christian families in this changing times.

       What's the Problem with Values Clarification?  p. 56-57, 58, 65-66, 108

It emphasizes today's cultural values and ignores Christian values. (Quote by John Cubler, who observed that the youth of 1969 had rejected the old sexual code:

"As long as the sinner acknowledges his guilt, there is a chance that he might reform and repent. But the key to this generation is precisely its freedom form guilt!"

If people discredit truth and quench the conscience, how will they live? God points us to the answer for our times:

"...all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from Whom you have learned them....
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Tim. 3:12-17)

Chapter 6. How Can We Guard our Children against Corrupting Values? (67-73)  (Deut 6:6-7)

Step One: Encourage Your Children to Love God

Step Two: Share God's Values With Your Children

Step Three: Train Your Child to be an "Ambassador for God." (2 Cor 5:20)

Step Four: Know what values the School Teaches:

"The traditional Christian family has been a continual obstacle to the globalist vision of solidarity. . . . the United Nations and its mental health gurus have fought hard to eradicate those old “poisonous certainties” that stood in their way. . . . The results can be disastrous. Students trained to scorn God’s guidelines and conform to the crowd are . . . soon driven by evolving new notions that undermine all truth and certainty." [2]—Carl Teichrib (research journalist)

Chapter 7. Schools and New Age Globalism.  (74-90)(74-76, 78-79, 81-82)

"The traditional Christian family has been a continual obstacle to the globalist vision of solidarity. ...the United Nations and its mental health gurus have fought hard to eradicate those old 'poisonous certainties' that stood in their way.... The results can be disastrous. Students trained to scorn God’s guidelines and conform to the crowd are... soon driven by evolving new notions that undermine all truth and certainty." Carl Teichrib (research journalist)

"The Sin of Separateness" (87-89)

Since unity is essential to the envision global village, many New Age leaders join in condemning the hindering influence of the church. Their objection? It's "negative energy" blocks the envisioned, long-anticipated evolutionary breakthrough. ... this belief has filtered into the classroom.

(From Spiritual Politics by Corinne McLaughlin and Gordon Davidson.) "According to Ageless Wisdom, there really is only one sin--separateness. In the early years of World War II, Alice Bailey [theosophist] noted that we will achieve peace in the world only after we first create unity.... The persistence of war is more likely to spring form rampant nationalism, ethnocentrism and intolerant religious fundamentalism-- all extreme and separative attitudes." (p..88)

Thus anyone who follows God becomes guilty of the only sins in the New Age paradigm: unbelief and separateness. Christians who refuse to share the global vision and join the evolutionary march will reap persecution... For Satan, the counterfeit angel of light, hates all who shine the true light of Christ into the world.

Unless we help our children build a mental framework and filter based on Biblical truth, the world's philosophies will squeeze them into its mold. Therefore, it is residential that they see 'God as the only ultimate source of wisdom , power, and triumph.

"The Lord is my Rock, and my Fortress, and my Deliverer, My God, my strength , in Whom I will trust....I call upon the Lord Who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies." (Psalm 218:2-3)

Chapter 9. The Mind-Changing Visual Images in Movies  (What's wrong with popular movies such as Harry Potter and Snow White & the Huntsman?)  (97-124)

Grease" (106) Bad is good (108)

Harry Potter - (113)  The main product marketed through Harry Potter is a new beliefs system..... (Contrast with Psalm 1:1-3).  (114-118)

"Snow White & the Huntsman" (119)

"God is going to change," wrote Naomi Goldenberg in the Changing of the Gods: "Feminism and the End of Traditional Religions." We women.... will change the world so much that He won't fit anymore.

She is wrong about God. But she's right about our changing culture!

Chapter 10. How can we Guard our Children from Mind-Changing Messages? (125-132)

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Cor 4:16-18).

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for pso they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Mt 5:11-12) Nelson.

Chapter 11. How Can Families Resist the Tantalizing Power of Television?  (133-150)

"...the TV ... holds such a devastating potential for brainwashing, mass programming, and the destruction of individualism..."[1] p.134

Aliens, UFOs, & a (false) New Age Christ. The invasion of monsters began decades ago, and it quickly transformed the world of entertainment..... The creatures that win the prize for thrills and chills are the dark and deadly-looking ones like Darth Maul (Star Wars).... (137)

"Notice that tongue hanging out over the chin -- which is a universal symbol of demonic possession....
"One of the most popular combinations is human and serpent.... It's not surprising that pagan religions worshiped serpent and dragons, for the bible tells us revelation 12 that the old serpent, the dragon, is Satan  the devil." (From a lecture on "The Rising Interest in the Supernatural by Larry McLean) (p. 139)

Chapter 12. Guarding Against Corruption in TV and Digital Media?  (151-155)

"Children project themselves with their imagination into a toy. They give it life, character, abilities and talents and set the surrounding around it. This is how they learn....

"When a child watches a cartoon and then plays with a toy connected to that cartoon, he is no longer projecting himself into the toy. Instead, cartoons have programmed the child to play with toys in a certain way." Phil Phillips, Turmoil in the Toy Box. (p. 156)

Obsession with power, violence, and martial arts can prove fatal. One year, Norway, Sweden and Denmark banned the Power Rangers for a season after a five-year-old Norwegian girl was kicked unconscious by classmates and died in the snow. Some blamed the Ninja Turtles, which had been broadcasting the skills and thrills of the martial arts longer.

To cool Ranger fever in your home, try asking some leading age-appropriate questions. For example:

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Pr 22:6)  [more  on 165)

Unless we help our children build a mental framework and filter based on biblical truth, the world’s philosophies will squeeze them into its mold. Therefore, it is essential that they see God as the only ultimate source of wisdom, power, and triumph.

 "The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;

my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised:

so shall I be saved from mine enemies." (Psalm 18:2-3)
