Trusting God

"It is better to trust in the Lord  than to put confidence in man."

"The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.

This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it."

Psalm 118:8, 14, 24

Did you know that:

Psalm 118 is the middle chapter of the entire Bible?

Psalm 117, before Psalm 118 is the shortest chapter in the Bible?

Psalm 119, after Psalm 118 is the longest chapter in the Bible?

The Bible has 594 chapters before Psalm 118 and 594 chapters after Psalm 118?

If you add up all the chapters except Psalm 118, you get a total of 1188 chapters.

Psalm 118 verse 8 is the middle verse of the entire Bible?

Should the central verse then not have an important message?

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord

than to trust in man." - Psalm 118:8

     Psalm 118:8 doesn't mean the absence of pain, problems or even persecution -- all of which are part of a normal Christian life. [Phil 1:29 and John 15:20] For when we are one with Jesus, we share His suffering as well as His triumphs.

     As we follow Him, He only allows the assaults that will strengthen our faith, draw us closer to Him, prepare us for His ministry, accomplish His purpose and bring honor to His name.
