Corruption. Two Terrible Ideas in One!: "It’s interesting that the Democrats are attempting to roll two of their highest priorities into one bill this month. ...health-care reform now includes a reconciliation package that would fold in student-loan reform. And by 'reform' the Democrats mean increasing direct lending to students by the federal government....

     "Have you seen the TV ads for the Scooter Store? 'My scooter didn’t cost me a dime!' exults a customer. 'Medicare and my insurance covered the whole thing.' Multiply that by several million and you have a sense of the incentives....

     "The United States, like other developed nations, was on a glide path toward entitlement meltdown even before Barack Obama ascended. But his acceleration of the descent has been stupefying." See The Power and Perversions of Laws

Signs of the times. America’s Shiny New Palestinian Militia: "‘The stupidest program the U.S. government has ever undertaken” — last year that’s what I called American efforts to improve the Palestinian Authority (PA) military force.... The PA has never wavered in its goal of eliminating Israel.... Should the PA achieve statehood, it will certainly pursue its historic goal — only now equipped with a shiny new American-trained soldiery and arsenal." See Jerusalem

Occult phenomena. Science and the Supernatural: "...the military and defense communities, including that of Russia and China, are not the only areas where science and the supernatural have combined. Psychic activity has also been used in the fields of archeology and criminology. Of these two, the use of psychics in criminology is probably the most widely known, fueled in large part by various television programs and publications that have highlighted the apparent successes and failures of criminal-clairvoyant investigations." Disinformation. Stimulus or Sedative? "Abraham Lincoln once asked an audience how many legs a dog has, if you called the tail a leg? When the audience said 'five,' Lincoln corrected them, saying that the answer was four. 'The fact that you call a tail a leg does not make it a leg.' ... Media Bias. Increasingly Anti-religious America Ignores Wave of Church Arsons: "You may have been surprised to learn about the 10 East Texas churches burned down by arsonists since the beginning of the year. ...the mainstream media was largely silent on the whole matter—not giving it much coverage until two men were arrested. What was getting plenty of coverage were stories like whether Tiger was truly sorry....

     "One might argue that these church burnings weren’t a big deal because they haven’t been focused on one particular racial or ethnic group.... In fact, it would have caused a national stir—church or no church—if facilities housing groups advocating issues like global warming, animal rights, abortion or gun control had gone up in flames....

     "Why wasn’t there reason enough to stir a little outrage, ruffle a few headlines, earn a few sound bites on an evening newscast prior to that? Because religion is 'out.' This complete lack of any church fire alarm is just the latest evidence of the increasing effort nationwide to marginalize religion and the church in this country." The next item is a warning from American Family Association. Since it contains explicit sexual language, I suggest you not read more than this statement. I just want to alert you to the increasing moral corruption in today's worldwide Girl Scout organization.

Moral depravity. Not your mother's Girl Scouts: "Here is the longstanding Girl Scout oath: 'On my honor, I will try: to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people at all times, to obey the Girl Scout laws.' Well, the new and improved World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides hosted a panel at the UN this week. The first thing organizers did was kick all the adults out of the room so that Planned Parenthood could distribute - to adolescent girls, mind you - a brochure entitled, 'Healthy, Happy and Hot.' The brochure includes graphic and explicit sexual details, and promotes every kind of casual sex." See Scriptures on moral corruption

Faith. The Pursuit of God by Tozer, Chapter 9: Meekness and Rest: "A fairly accurate description of the human race might be furnished one unacquainted with it by taking the Beatitudes, turning them wrong side out and saying, `Here is your human race.' For the exact opposite of the virtues in the Beatitudes are the very qualities which distinguish human life and conduct....

vInstead of poverty of spirit we find the rankest kind of pride;

vinstead of mourners we find pleasure seekers; instead of meekness, arrogance;

vinstead of hunger after righteousness we hear men saying, `I am rich and... need of nothing';

vinstead of mercy we find cruelty;

vinstead of purity of heart, corrupt imaginings...

Into a world like this the sound of Jesus' words comes wonderful and strange Jesus says, "Come unto me, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." Matthew.11:28-29

Taking a Stand. Are We Fundamentalists? "There are now two kinds of evangelicals.... The old is the authentic, biblical position. The new is far off the track, not in its basic view of salvation, but in its readiness to compromise with doctrinal error and worldly ways. The new is selling the faith for earthly respect and recognition... and churches are being ruined....

     "Today, old-style evangelicals are in the minority.... Old-style evangelicals are often called fundamentalists, particularly in the USA. New-style evangelicals adopted the term, 'new evangelical' to describe themselves in the 1950s.... Those of us who are old-style evangelicals are now being labeled as fundamentalist by our critics, the new-style evangelicals.....

     "The new evangelicals are appropriating to themselves the exclusive use of the term evangelical, and calling old-style believers fundamentalists. Like their American mentors they define the latter term in the most objectionable way."

Zero Tolerance. Pupils aged five on hate register: Teachers must log playground taunts for Government database: "Even minor incidents must be recorded as examples of serious bullying and details kept on a database until the pupil leaves secondary school. Teachers are to be told that even if a primary school child uses homophobic or racist words without knowing their meaning, simply teaching them such words are hurtful and inappropriate is not enough. Instead the incident has to be recorded and his or her behaviour monitored for future signs of 'hate' bullying.

     "The accusations will also be recorded in databases held by councils and made available to Whitehall and ministers to help them devise future anti-bullying campaigns. The boy was reported after he called a friend 'gay boy'. His parents fear the record of homophobic bullying will count against him throughout his school career and even into adulthood." Eugenics. Bill Gates Talks About Vaccines to Reduce World Population: [UK] "Microsoft founder... projects an image of a benign philanthropist using his billions [via his tax exempt Foundation] to tackle diseases, solve food shortages in Africa and alleviate poverty. In a recent conference in California, Gates reveals a less public agenda of his philanthropy—population reduction, otherwise known as eugenics....

     "Gates made his remarks...in a speech titled, 'Innovating to Zero!.' Along with the scientifically absurd proposition of reducing manmade CO2 emissions worldwide to zero by 2050...Gates declares.'...The world today has 6.8 billion people. That's headed up to about 9 billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.' ...Gates and Buffett are major funders of global population reduction programs, as is Turner, whose UN Foundation was created to funnel $1billion...into various birth reduction programs in the developing world."

Older - but don't forget

The American form of government. A helpful video showing the difference between tyranny or totalitarianism ( fascism, communism, oligarchy, socialism, etc.), democracy (rule by the majority), republic (rule by law) and anarchy (no law or ruler).

Biblical Discernment. Spiritual Survival for a Church in Crisis: "The conquering of the city of Troy is one of the famous stories of ancient history. Greek soldiers had laid siege to the city for over ten years, but were unable to conquer it. In exasperation Ulysses, a brilliant strategist, decided to have a large wooden horse built and left outside the city walls as a supposed gift to the unconquerable Trojans. The Greeks then sailed away in apparent defeat. The curious and proud Trojans brought the wooden horse inside their fortified walls.
