"...persecuted

 but not  forsaken"

2 Cor. 2:7-10

Please pray

for these faithful witnesses of His Truth and love.

July 2014

Free Farshid: Farschid's Story"Pastor Farshid Fathi is incarcerated in Iran’s most notorious prison, Evin. He is serving a six year sentence and has been separated from his family and loved ones for over three years. His crime is his Christian faith.... Farshid's friends invariably describe him as loving, cheerful, selfless and faithful, and always eager to help and serve others.

"Born into a Muslim family in Iran, he became a Christian at age 17.... In his 20s he began ministering full-time and by 2010 he was leading a network of house churches in Iran. Now 34, he is married with two young children, Rosanna and Bardia. It was Christmas 2010 when he was cruelly ripped away from his family." See  Persecution Scriptures

Portland Child Evangelism Fellowship Under Fire for Preaching to Kids About Sin: "The Portland chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is facing resistance from some area residents as they conduct voluntary summer camps in the area and plan on hosting after-school Bible studies in local public schools. The problem?

"CEF teaches children that each person is a sinner in need of the Savior. Those who oppose the group assert that because of this, CEF does not present 'Jesus loves you' mainstream Christianity, and claim that the organization is 'hardcore evangelical fundamental.'” See The Victory of the Cross

Bloodguilt Over Jews Leads to Blood Libels Against Jews: "In 1933, boycotts targeted Jews; by 1938, Germans were burning synagogues down. Between 1933 and 1945, the Jewish population of the city was decimated, dropping from 30,000 to 602. ...So Frankfurt seems an odd place for a new blood libel against the Jews.

"Nonetheless, this week, 2,500 protesters, including Muslims and neo-Nazis — allied once again — showed up downtown to scream about Israel’s defensive action against Hamas.... Police reportedly helped out the protesters, allowing them to utilize a loudspeaker and a vehicle to shout anti-Israel diatribes. 'You Jews Are Beasts,' read one sign....

"Every Passover, Jews recite a paragraph: 'in every generation they rise against us to destroy us; and the Holy One, blessed be He, saves us from their hand!' ... And the God of Israel is always watching." See Signs of End Times

Jewish leaders outraged after rally featuring anti-Semitic slogans given police sound system to broadcast message of hate: "Islamist anti-Israel protesters used a police car's speakers to broadcast messages of hate during a march against Israel's defensive operation in Gaza. The rally, which took place in the center of Frankfurt on Saturday, was mainly Muslim youths and featured signs reading 'Israel kills children' and 'Allah is great', alongside more openly anti-Semitic banners such as 'You Jews are beasts!"...

"The initial group of 300 demonstrators swelled to a crowd of roughly 2,500... with protesters hurling rocks and bottles at police, who responded with riot-control measures." See The Muslim Brotherhood & the Plots to Rule an Islamic World

The Terrorists' Reality Show Who Has the "More Romantic Story"?'' "If a rocket succeeds in going through Israel's anti-missile defense and causing damage to Israel, Hamas is 'showing its strength,' by hitting the Jewish state. If a retaliation by Israel sadly results in the death of Arab civilians, Hamas is 'showing how inhuman Israel is'....   For Hamas and similar terror groups, therefore, the 'show' is always a win-win.... In societies where the distribution of power is the key to freedom, freedom of speech is a solid counter-power, capable of revealing corruption, denouncing a policy, and reshaping a system. The media are the real leaders of the free world." See The fall and rise of human violence

Children's Christian ministry called 'psychologically harmful to children': "Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is facing opposition in Portland as it seeks to bring youth to Christ. The group's 'Good News Club' is being called 'psychologically harmful to children' by a newly formed coalition – Protect Portland Children. ... On its website, CEF states that 'the purpose of Good News Club is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and establish (disciple) them in the Word of God.... Critics of CEF...say the program teaches fundamentalist beliefs to children...."  CEF is a great program for children! How sad that its enemies want to stop it!

Stand With the Persecuted Church: "Christians are reportedly being crucified in the Middle East. That’s right, crucified. This latest atrocity – by jihadists in Syria – is part of a wave of Christian persecution that is sweeping the Middle East and North Africa, a wave of persecution worse even than in biblical times. From Pastor Saeed imprisoned and beaten in Iran, to Meriam Ibrahim giving birth in chains in Sudan, to the slaughter of Christians in Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, and Kenya – jihadists are trying to wipe Christianity off the map...."

Canadian City Bans Events ‘Associated’ With Christians: "In Canada... in the city of Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island... all you need, to qualify for persecution, is some vague, undefined 'association' with 'divisive groups' (Christians) that 'promote homophobia and other expressions of hate." See Persecution Stories for Children

June 2014

Sudanese woman Meriam Ibrahim 'safe and well' in US embassy: "The husband of a Sudanese Christian woman facing threats after her apostasy death sentence was overturned has expressed relief that the family has been given refuge at the US embassy in Khartoum.... He said his wife and two children... were doing well at the heavily guarded facility....

"Under Sudan's penal code Muslims are forbidden from changing faith, and Muslim women are not permitted to marry Christian men. Ibrahim insisted she had been brought up as a Christian. The case prompted outrage, with more than a million people backing Amnesty International's campaign for her release." See When Iron Gates Yield

The War on Christians: "For at least three reasons, the contemporary persecution of Christians demands attention: It is occurring on a massive scale, it is underreported, and in many parts of the world it is rapidly growing....The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life finds that Christians are suffering persecution in more places today than any other religious group; between 2006 and 2012, Pew says, they were targeted for harassment in 151 countries....

"Most people in the West are unaware of these facts, though that may be changing. A few cases do get press coverage—the desperate plight of Meriam Ibrahim, for instance.... She was raised a Christian, but after officials learned that her long-absent father was a Muslim, she was sentenced to death for apostasy—for leaving Islam. ... These punishments will be dropped if she renounces her Christian faith, which she steadfastly refuses to do.

"Another case receiving attention is North Korea’s sentencing of a South Korean missionary, Kim Jong-uk, to life with hard labor. On May 30, he was convicted of espionage and trying to start a church.... German chancellor Angela Merkel has repeatedly stressed that Christians are the world’s most widely persecuted religious group." See Preparing for Persecution

Anti-Semitic Chicago Kids Tell Jews to Get in the Oven: "Several eighth graders in the Chicago public school system were suspended for being anti-Semitic bullies and playing a game that they called 'Jew incinerator,' ...But the mother of the 14-year-old boy who was told to get into an oven and put on striped pajamas, as concentration camp prisoners were made to do, still was upset Thursday, saying the district isn’t doing enough to address the racism behind the bullying." See The Ominous "Success"of Re-Education

Military Chaplains Sue After Being Ordered Not to Quote Bible, Pray in Jesus’ Name: "Chaplains Major Steven Firtko and Lieutenant Commander Dan Klender state that they were repeatedly harassed and threatened while enrolled in the San Diego Clinical Pastoral Education Center program last fall and winter.....Ms. Dietsch pounded her fist on the table and ordered Chaplain Firtko to not quote Scripture in the classroom, stating [that] it made her feel like she had been ‘pounded over the head with a sledge hammer.’” See Spiritual Warfare: Hating Truth and Primed for Deception!

Why is Christian Persecution Getting Worse in Every Country the US 'Liberates'? "As the mass exodus of Iraq’s Christians continues, so does the call for ending the plight of those who have remained. Like Iraq’s ancient Jewish community before them, one of the world’s oldest Christian communities may soon cease to exist. 'The disappearance of Iraq’s religious minorities has been a troubling trend since the US-led invasion in 2003, and it has threatened to end the cultural diversity of Iraq.'" See  Preparing for Persecution

Pregnant woman sentenced to be tortured and executed for her faith: "Meriam was raised Christian, but the government of Sudan does not recognize her faith. To Sudan, she is Muslim because her father was Muslim. Her Christianity makes her an apostate, a criminal. The Sudanese judge gave her three days to recant her faith – to reject her Christian beliefs. She refused. Meriam is pregnant, and her husband is an American citizen. After she gives birth, Sudan will punish her with 100 lashes, then kill her." See Hating Truth and Primed for Deception!

Honor Violence: "In 2009, the Danish writer and historian Lars Hedegaard, spoke in private in his home about the treatment of women in Muslim some communities saying, 'They rape their own children.' When these words were made public, Hedegaard was charged in Denmark with the crime of hate speech.... The trial began last week. Below is an English translation of Hedegaard’s final word’s to the court:
"Honourable Supreme Court, My attorney has presented juridical arguments to the effect that I must be acquitted....However, allow me to express my quiet bafflement. ...it was never my intention to disseminate such an absurd contention.... I would not be able to live with my guilty conscience if – out of fear of public condemnation and ridicule – I refrained from telling the truth as I see it. And regardless of the outcome of this trial, I intend to continue my struggle for free speech and against totalitarian concepts of any stripe." See Persecution Scriptures

North Korea: Blame the Christians: "Hitler blamed the Jews and killed 6 million of them. Iran's Ayatollah blames America, 'The Great Satan' for his government's problems. And now North Korea's Kim Jong Un blames Christians for his abysmal human rights record.

"Speaking recently before the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva, North Korean Ambassador So Se Pyong said Christian missionaries based in northeast China indoctrinate North Koreans with anti-government ideas, and then send them into North Korea with 'assignments of subversion, destruction...."

"Seoul USA CEO Rev. Eric Foley is seriously concerned about the affect Pyongyang's allegations may have on missionaries working near the border. The Chinese government may respond by cracking down... by giving North Korean agents more freedom to act aggressively against Christians in China." See Preparing for Persecution

The Holocaust: "Since 1945, the word has taken on a new and horrible meaning: the mass murder of some 6 million European Jews... by the German Nazi regime during the Second World War.

"To the anti-Semitic Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, Jews were an inferior race, an alien threat to German racial purity and community. After years of Nazi rule in Germany, during which Jews were consistently persecuted, Hitler’s 'final solution'–now known as the Holocaust–came to fruition under the cover of world war, with mass killing centers constructed in the concentration camps of occupied Poland..."  Bonhoeffer: Nazi Religion versus "Religionless" Faith

Recent Attacks on Students of Faith: "With the recent attacks on religious freedom in the schools—including the story of a 5-year-old told she could not pray over her lunch and a second grader told she could not read her Bible—Liberty Institute’s Kelly Shackelford was asked to appear on Fox & Friends last weekend to discuss this critical issue." See  Don't mention Jesus

Lunch Lady Lineup: 5-Year-Old Identifies School Prayer Monitor: "...[5-year-old] Gabriella Perez positively identified the school district employee who told her praying over her meal was 'wrong.'  ...just a few weeks earlier, 5-year-old Gabriella Perez was told it was 'wrong' to bow her head in prayer before she ate lunch. School officials initially denied the incident took place.

"During the meeting, Gabriella re-enacted the prayer and recounted the incident in its entirety to the principal and school attorney. At the request of the school, Gabriella also participated in a lineup, positively identifying the school employee.

"Situations like this are happening all to frequently."

Liberals Announce Plan to ‘Purge’ Christians: "They were always deadly serious about criminalizing Christianity and killing free speech, but now the American left has stopped pretending otherwise.

"In a recent column titled, 'Why Are They Called ‘Homofascists’? Here’s Why,' I wrote that 'progressive,' 'Christian-hating fascists' ... are “hell-bent on criminalizing Christianity and pushing to the fringes anyone who publicly acknowledges natural human sexuality and the age-old, immutable institution of legitimate marriage as created by God.” See Trusting God as Freedom Fades

[Notice the hostility toward Christianity]   Air Force Academy Orders Cadet to Remove Bible Verse: "Mikey Weinstein, director of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation .... said the Bible verse on the cadet’s personal whiteboard created a hostile environment at the academy. 'It clearly elevated one religious faith (fundamentalist Christianity) over all others at an already virulently hyper-fundamentalist Christian institution,' he said. 'It massively poured fundamentalist Christian gasoline on an already raging out-of-control conflagration of fundamentalist Christian tyranny, exceptionalism and supremacy at USAFA.'...
"Retired General Jerry Boykin, executive vice president of the Family Research Council...was outraged by the removal of the Bible verse. 'Once the academy allowed cadets to use these whiteboards for their personal use, censorship of religious commentary is unacceptable." See Preparing for Persecution

The Islamic war on Christians in the Middle East: "...dhimmitude is actually not just some 'ancient law' that 'radical Islamists' have unaccountably decided to revive. It is, on the contrary, a Qur’anic imperative.... 'Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth....'

"This week, as Jews celebrate the Passover holiday, they are commemorating the Bible’s Exodus story describing a series of plagues inflicted on ancient Egypt that freed the Israelites, allowing them to make their way to the Holy Land. But over the past century, another exodus, driven by a plague of persecution, has swept across the Middle East and is emptying the region of its Christian population. The persecution is especially virulent today..." See Spiritual Warfare

Parents: 234 girls kidnapped from Nigeria school: "Some 234 girls are missing from the northeast Nigerian school attacked last week by Islamic extremists, significantly more than the 85 reported by education officials.... Parents told the governor that officials would not listen to them when they drew up their list of names of missing children and the total reached 234....

"Security sources have said they are in 'hot pursuit' of the abductors, but so far they have not rescued any of the girls and young women, aged between 16 and 18. Parents and other town residents have joined the search for the students in the Sambisa Forest which borders Chibok town and is a known hideout for the militants.....

"The kidnappings are believed to have been carried out by Nigeria's Islamic extremist rebels.... Boko Haram... means 'Western education is sinful' — is violently campaigning to establish an Islamic Shariah state in Nigeria, whose 170 million people are about half Muslim and half Christian. Boko Haram has been abducting some girls and young women in attacks on schools, villages and towns but last week's mass kidnapping is unprecedented. The extremists use the young women as porters, cooks and sex slaves." See Spiritual Warfare: Hating Truth and Primed for Deception!

Franklin Graham: Christians Are Persecuted at Home and Abroad: "We see the anti-Christian position in this country. We see so much of it coming out of the entertainment industry, especially in certain segments of the news media." "Christians are being attacked and ... we see it now in Europe. Anti-Semitism, no question, it's there. We are living in a world that is changing, and it is frightening to see how quickly [it] is changing, and we're going to see real persecution of Christians and Jews in the years to come," said Graham, who followed his father into the ministry."

Idlib, northwest Syria, seven soldiers were recently captured by 'rebel' forces. They were tortured and executed, by beheading, echoing Koran 47:4: “So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve [or "infidels"], then smite the necks [decapitate] until when you have overcome them… That is the command.”

Jews urged to flee Ukraine by Holocaust survivor: "ALL Jewish people should leave Ukraine at once, a Holocaust survivor warned last night, after 'grotesque' anti-Semitic leaflets were handed out in the country.... The pamphlets and posters, distributed in the eastern Ukraine city of Donetsk, demanded that the Jewish population register, pay a new tax or leave. They are a terrifying echo of the anti-Jewish atrocities carried out by Ukrainians under Nazi occupation during the Second World War....

“'There is no point in staying there waiting for trouble, in the hope that the world Jewry can save them. Even Germany is doing everything it can to tackle anti-Semitism and is better than Ukraine. Jews in the Ukraine should leave.'

"During the war, the Nazis exterminated more than 900,000 Jewish people in Ukraine....As the climate of fear grows, however, the authenticity of the pamphlets is being called into question." See  Preparing for Persecution

Anti-Semitic flyer handed to Jews in Ukraine was a fake aimed at stirring up trouble and discrediting pro-Russians, says Rabbi: "A flyer ordering Jews in eastern Ukraine to register with pro-Russian forces or face deportation has been branded a fake by religious leaders, including the area's rabbi."

Nigeria Christians Mourn Hundreds Killed By Islamic Militants, Many Kidnapped: "Christians in volatile Nigeria were mourning their dead Good Friday, April 18, ahead of Easter, after Islamic militants killed more than 200 people and kidnapped hundreds others in the region.... Rights investigators and churches said the group Boko Haram, which wants to carve out an Islamic state in Africa's largest oil-producing nation, carried out massacres in less than seven days....

"Boko Haram, or 'Western education is a sin' also 'massacred 71 and destroyed more than 30 vehicles in the nation's capital city of Abuja,' as well as conducting 'a mass-kidnapping of 243 girls from a government secondary school in Maiduguri... '" See Hating Truth and Primed for Deception!

Naghmeh Abedini on Saeed's Imprisonment: God Counted Us Worthy Enough: "Naghmeh Abedini, the wife of pastor Saeed Abedini who is serving eight years in prison in Iran for his Christian faith, has said that God has chosen her family and her husband for the ordeal they are going through in order to reach people in despair.

"'The Lord has counted our family worthy enough to send Saeed to a dark place that he would be able to share with people who are in complete despair,' Abedini said in a testimony to persecution watchdog group International Christian Concern....

"She told the watchdog that while in prison, her husband has seen 'so many give their hearts to Christ.' The pastor, who was arrested in Iran in July 2012 while working on an orphanage project, was tried and sentenced to eight years in prison for 'threatening the national security.'" See Hating Truth and Primed for Deception!

U.S. blocks Christian governor from Nigeria peace talks: "The United States Institute for Peace recently brought together the governors of Nigeria’s mostly Muslim northern states for a conference in the U.S., but the State Department blocked the visa of the region’s only Christian governor, an ordained minister, citing 'administrative' problems. The visa of Plateau State Gov. Jonah David Jang, has been held up by the Obama administration for more than a year.... 'Jang’s visa has been tied up in security background checks... since July 2012'.... despite the fact that he has never violated the terms of his visa.'

"The USIP... did not respond to requests for comments on holding the talks without the region’s only Christian governor. Emmanuel Ogebe, a human rights lawyer... said the Christian governor’s 'visa problems' are because of bias in the U.S. government. ... it’s not unusual for the U.S. government to exclude Christians in Nigeria discussions and meetings.

"...the State Department 'is steadfastly refusing to admit... that Boko Haram’s rampages against Christian communities in Nigeria have anything whatsoever to do with Islam.'.... On Feb. 17, the terrorist group Ansaru, believed to be a Boko Haram faction, kidnapped seven foreigners.... Ogebe noted the other attacks listed were all against Christian targets." See Nigeria: Jihad mass murder death toll at Christian village reaches 106

The Cost of Being a Christian: "Elaine respectfully declined a request from a woman to photograph a same-sex 'commitment' ceremony.

"Despite Elaine and her husband Jon's constitutionally protected right to live – and run their businessaccording to their Christian beliefs, the woman filed a complaint with the New Mexico Human Rights Commission and charged them with violating the state's 'sexual orientation discrimination' law....

"Regardless of their solid legal case, the Commission ordered the Huguenins to pay $7,000 in fees to the couple. ...the state is essentially saying: You will be punished if you don't fully endorse or promote the homosexual agenda, whether you agree with it or not." See Why "Hate crime" laws ban Biblical Christianity

Franklin Graham: Some Administration Officials Are ‘Anti-Christ: "Some of the people working in the Obama administration and in the White House are trying to 'completely secularize our military' and are 'hostile to Christians,' to the point that they 'are anti-Christ in what they say and in what they do,' said Christian evangelist Franklin Graham....

"Perkins asked Graham, '...when you were scheduled to speak at the Pentagon a few years ago they disinvited youare you concerned about this intense religious hostility that we see manifesting in our nation’s military?'

"Graham said, 'No question. And my son just got back from his seventh [military] tour this weekend. So, I love the military. There has been huge pressure on the chaplains in our military.... But there is a move to get rid of the chaplains in our country, and to completely secularize our military." See Preparing for Persecution

Why does Air Force Academy encourage atheism, prosecute Christianity? "The Academy is defending its promotion of an atheist event just a week after a Christian cadet was pressured into removing a Bible verse from his personal white board because it allegedly offended non-Christian cadets.... 'Ask An Atheist Day' was sponsored by The Freethinkers Club, an Academy approved cadet club.

"....a cadet 'voluntarily' removed a Bible verse he had written on a white board hanging outside his dorm room. "I have been crucified with Christ, therefore I no longer live, but Christ lives in me," the verse from Galatians 2:20 read.' "That verse led to a formal complaint from Mikey Weinstein, of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation....." See  Persecuted - but not forsaken

‘Pushed to leave’: Packing moods among Ukraine’s Jewish minority amidst far-right rise: "With the beating of the head of Hatzalah’s local branch in Kiev and an earlier attack on a synagogue, many from the Jewish minority... feel they will be forced to leave the country.... Mikhail Kapustin, rabbi of Sevastopol and Ukraine, told RT that he could no longer stand it after he had found swastikas drawn on his synagogue – the first time in twenty years that his synagogue was vandalized.... On the walls of his home, the rabbi also found a blood-chilling message, 'Death to the Jews.'” See Hating Truth and Primed for Deception!

Pastor Saeed Abedini Taken to Hospital, But Shackled and Forced to Return Untreated: "A little over a week ago, Pastor Saeed – a U.S. citizen – was moved from Rajai Shahr Prison to a private hospital in Iran. He was told he would receive further tests on his deteriorating medical condition and undergo surgery to address chronic pain in his stomach area – the result of numerous prison beatings. For the past week and a half, he has undergone various tests and received much needed nourishment....

"Today, that all changed. This morning Iranian guards lashed out violently against Pastor Saeed and an elderly relative who had been able to visit him in the hospital. Pastor Saeed was pinned down and shackled. His elderly relative was roughly handled and expelled from the hospital." Please continue to pray for him and his family. See Preparing for Persecution

Pakistani Taliban kills Christian girl: "Pakistan, March 8, 2014: A Christian girl was shot dead by the Pakistani Taliban in the northern region of the country last week. She was hiding with a male cousin who had converted from Islam to Christianity few years ago. Since the conversion, he was declared ‘apostate’ and had been the target of the Taliban....  Pakistan Taliban has been trying to impose its extreme views and has been killing whoever has gone against its diktats. A dialogue between the government and Pakistani Taliban reached a deadlock after Islamic militants told the government that 'there is no possibility of peace in the country unless Pakistan changes its political and legal system and officially adopts Islamic law.'" See Spiritual Warfare

Obama Administration to Court Martial and Punish Christian Military who Share Their Faith: "A growing number of atheists in the military are calling for the appointment of lay leaders to give spiritual guidance to service members who do not believe in God. As many as a dozen members of the U.S. military have applied for the status, which some see as a step on the path to calling for nonbelieving chaplains who could provide support to fellow comrades.... Mikey Weinstein, President of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, was brought in by the Obama administration to come up with procedures that will be used to literally persecute those who share the gospel of Jesus Christ." See Preparing for Victory - A year old but still relevant

Syria’s Christians Under Sharia Law, Snowden And Ukraine And Moral Clarity On Iran: "Radical Islamists seized control of the Syrian city of Raqqa last year. Now they are forcing Christians in the area to submit to a dhimma – a feature of Sharia law that makes them second-class citizens.... Christians in Raqqa must pay a tax of roughly $1,000 per person. Poor Christians will be required to pay $250. They can practice their faith in private. But, they cannot pray in public. They cannot build new churches. They cannot rebuild destroyed churches.... Many Christians in Raqqa signed the agreement on threat of death if they did not.... Those who refused were warned that 'nothing will remain between them and ISIS other than the sword.'”

Sudanese Muslim cleric: “The shedding of the blood of infidels is for the sake of purification and security: "Al-Jazouli quotes the Qur’an: 'Fight them until there is no more strife and Allah’s religion prevails” (8:39). He says that shedding the blood of Infidels in jihad is a way to prevent strife and create order."

Nigeria: Jihad mass murder death toll at Christian village reaches 106: "The unimaginable horror of this is compounded by the world’s indifference. The few who dare to call attention to jihad attacks like this one are vilified, mocked, shunned, ridiculed, and defamed, even as such attacks multiply and the body count mounts ever higher. ...     "Western governments have apparently decided that jihad attacks like this one can’t happen in their countries, and so don’t matter, and that when they take place in faraway lands such as Nigeria, they need not disturb the comforting fictions about Islam’s jihad doctrine that form the cornerstone of so much of their domestic and foreign policy. Central African Republic: Muslim group threw 13 people into disused fuel tank and left them to die: "As far as the mainstream media is concerned, Christians in the Central African Republic are gratuitously targeting innocent Muslims.... And they never mention how Muslims murdered 1,000 Christians over a two-day period. Or how 450,000 Christians fled their homes in the face of Muslim attacks....
”BANGUI: Thirteen decomposing corpses have been discovered in a camp housing ex-rebels in the strife-torn Central African Republic.... The corpses, some mere skeletons, were found in a disused fuel tank at a camp of former fighters of the mostly Muslim Seleka rebel group whose coup a year ago sparked the country’s descent into chaos.... The bodies 'were found in different places in the tank, which suggests that the people were thrown in there alive and struggled to get out... At least 133 children have been killed and maimed, some of them in horrific ways, in the past two months and Unicef has verified cases of children intentionally beheaded and mutilated…"  See Persecuted - but not forsaken

Raymond Ibrahim: Confirmed, U.S. is Chief Faciltator of Christian Persecution: "...Syria is the third worst nation in the world in which to be Christian, Iraq is fourth, Afghanistan fifth, and Libya 13th. All four countries receive the strongest designation, 'extreme persecution' (other designations are 'severe,' 'moderate,' and 'sparse' persecution). Aside from being so closely and harshly ranked, these four nations have something else in common: heavy U.S. involvement. Three—Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya—were 'liberated' thanks to U.S. forces, while in the fourth, Syria, the U.S. is actively sponsoring 'freedom fighters' against the regime, many of whom would be better labeled 'terrorists.”' See Spiritual Warfare

Interfaith outreach in Nigeria: Muslims attack Christians at Sunday worship, murdering at least: "Islamic extremists have attacked villages in three states in Nigeria every Sunday this month, killing at least 15 Christians. Christian leaders in... central Nigeria’s Benue state said ethnic Fulani herdsmen were responsible for raids on two villages that left seven Christians dead... (Jan. 19).... The previous Sunday (Jan. 12)...  terrorists from the Islamic extremist Boko Haram group attacked Sabon Gari village in the Gwoza Local Government Area, killing eight Christians." See Spiritual Warfare

Coptic Christian Children: Kidnapped and Killed for Cash: "...kidnapping and holding Coptic children captive for large ransoms—has become a regular feature of the Egyptian landscape, particularly in Minya, Upper Egypt. A few examples follow: • August 2013: Copts held a funeral for Wahid Jacob, formerly a young church deacon. He too was kidnapped by 'unknown persons' who demanded an exorbitant ransom from his family—1,200,000 Egyptian pounds. See Human nature without a moral conscience!

Boko Haram Leader Vows to Continue Attacks on Schools: "Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has released a video on the internet in which he not only approves of the group’s July 6, 2013 Boko Haram slaughter of 42 students and teachers at a boarding school [in Nigeria], he promises more such attacks. While denouncing Western education as a 'plot against Islam,' Shekau said schools would continue to be targeted 'until our last breath.'

'"Teachers who teach Western education? We will kill them! We will kill them in front of their students, and tell the students to henceforth study the Qur’an,' he said..." See Persecution

Reported Christian 'martyr' deaths double in 2013: report: "Reported cases of Christians killed for their faith around the world doubled in 2013 from the year before, with Syria accounting for more than the whole global total in 2012.... The Open Doors report placed North Korea at the top of its list of 50 most dangerous countries for Christians, a position it has held since the annual survey began 12 years ago. Heroic Chinese house church leader, Samuel Lamb, dies: "One of the most well-known Christian leaders in China, Pastor Samuel Lamb, died on Saturday (August 3) in Guangzhou, aged 88. He had been arrested during one of the first big waves of persecution in Mao’s China and was first imprisoned from 1955 to 1957....

"Lamb, also translated from the original Chinese as ‘Lam’, was targeted by the government because of his refusal to merge his illegal house church into the Three-Self Patriotic Movement, the state-regulated Protestant Church. The Chinese authorities sentenced him a second time in 1958, when he spent 20 years in labour camps....

"In 1979 he started his house church.... Attendance grew quickly and he had to move his congregation to a bigger building in the same city.... Simultaneously, he became an example for millions of believers in China, where today estimates say there are now about 80 million Christians – some estimates claim one tenth of the population is Christian....

"Suffering played an important part in many of Lamb’s sermons. He was famous for repeating: 'More persecution, more growth'. That phrase had not only to do with numbers of believers, but also with spiritual growth." See An open Letter to the United States Congress by Gao Zhisheng

There were 1,213 such deaths in Syria alone last year..." See Spiritual Warfare

Jailed pastor 'abandoned because he's Christian'? "A growing number of U.S. analysts, human-rights activists and even a congressman, angered by the nuclear deal reached with Iran without demanding the release of American pastor Saeed Abedini jailed since September 2012, now believe President Obama neglected the prisoner for one reason – he’s a Christian."

Teacher seizes candy canes, says ‘Jesus is not allowed’: "A first-grade teacher at a public elementary school in Southern California allegedly snatched a bunch of candy canes bearing a brief religious message from a first-grade boy. She told the poor kid 'Jesus is not allowed in school' and then —right in front of his little six-year-old eyes — ripped the religious messages from each candy cane and dumped them in a trashcan."

The Hypocrisy of the Western Christian Response to Muslim Persecution of Christians: "Picking fruit with a group of Muslim women, Bibi was ordered to fetch water for them – and drank a bit of it herself in the stifling heat. A Muslim woman rebuked her for doing so, saying to the other women: 'Listen, all of you, this Christian has dirtied the water in the well by drinking from our cup and dipping it back several times. Now the water is unclean and we can’t drink it! Because of her!'

"Bibi stood up to her, responding: 'I think Jesus would see it differently from Mohammed.' That drove the Muslim women into a fury, and they started yelling at Bibi: 'How dare you think for the Prophet, you filthy animal!  That’s right, you’re just a filthy Christian! ... Several days later, she was arrested for blasphemy as an enraged mob beat her and screamed, 'Death! Death to the Christian!' She has been in prison ever since, awaiting execution for her 'crime.'”

Persecution. The Nazis and the Palestinian Movement: "Hajj Amin al Husseini is the father of the Palestinian Movement. He created PLO/Fatah (now better known as the ‘Palestinian Authority’), the organization that will govern any future Palestinian state. American Legion outraged over VA Christmas censorship: "The national commander of the American Legion is demanding answers from the Veterans Administration after hospitals in three states placed restrictions on Christian volunteers, including a group of schoolchildren who were told they could only perform Christmas carols from a government-approved list. Veterans in these hospitals fought to protect such freedoms.'...

Defending the defenseless must be a national priority this Christmas: "Amidst the travesty and torture that Pastor Saeed is forced to endure at the hands of his Iranian captors, his faith in Christ shines through....

It must be willing to do everything within its power to defend the most basic human rights of its citizens when they are trampled and flaunted by a foreign nation. Special forces raided two houses of prayer, and confiscated religious materials including Bibles.

"An official of the Department of Religious Affairs, who is also an imam at the local mosque, turned to the pastor of the Pentecostal community stating that his faith 'is wrong' and warned him to convert to Islam. Willing to Bleed for Jesus: "A little girl stood outside the doorway of the church longing for the love and joy displayed by those inside. The American missionary had asked her to come in, but she had politely declined.

But this was a hostile area in the Philippines, and her father had strictly forbidden her to have anything to do with 'those Christians....'"

And in his Apostolic Exhortation, he warns against 'hateful generalisations' about the [Islamic] Religion of Peace. How genuinely and meaningfully friendly can a Pope be to Jews and Israel, one wonders, when he seems bent on playing 'let’s pretend' about Islam and overlooking the virulent Jew-hatred that’s preached and taught at places like Al-Azhar?" China Relentless in Persecution of House Churches: "A recent spate of attacks against Christians and house churches in China underlines the country’s relentless habit of persecuting Christians....Across China, Christians continue to face harassment, intimidation, assault and even abduction at the hands of local authorities who seem to have little concern of suffering consequences for their actions."

The BANNING OF CHRISTIANITY: "Today, in the United States where American citizens are theoretically protected by the Constitution, the persecution of anyone for their religious beliefs is a violation of constitutional law. Very clearly, the 1st Amendment of the Constitution says: 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...' Further, the Constitution assures us that we can worship as we choose without interference from the government.
"Yet that 'interference' happens 24-7 in every city, in every State, in the nation. And the U.S. Justice Department... has done nothing to protect those who are persecuted. Why? ... Sadly, Christians are no longer a protected class in America. Sadder yet is the fact that America rose to become the greatest nation in the history of mankind only because God blessed America for its witness of Him." See

Punishment of Chick-fil - A loving soldier seen as hypocritical: "A retired Army chaplain sees hypocrisy in the fact that an 18-year Army veteran's career is now at risk because he served Chick-fil-A sandwiches in honor of the Defense of Marriage Act. The unidentified soldier was promoted to the rank of master sergeant last summer, an action that coincided with the controversy surrounding Chick-fil-A's support of traditional marriage and the hateful reaction from the left. Holocaust of Christians in the Muslim World on the Horizon: "Arrests and deportations of Christians in Sudan are becoming more momentous in Bashir’s government.... Islam.  Why Do They Slaughter Their Victims?  "What is common to Daniel Perl, Nick Berg, a British soldier on London street, the Jews of Hebron...? They all were butchered. They were not simply stabbed to death, but were killed by an act designed to decapitate them or to cause fatal bleeding.... Another common denominator: all were slaughtered by Moslems. An endless list of Moslem girls and women can be added to them, those who were similarly slaughtered by their brothers, fathers or other relatives for 'violating the family honor'. A question that arises automatically is where does this Moslem tendency to this kind of slaughter come from?

Egypt's Coptic Christians fleeing country after Islamist takeover: "Tens of thousands of Egyptian Christians are leaving the country in the wake of the Egyptian revolution and subsequent Islamist takeover of politics, priests and community leaders say. ...the victory of the Muslim Brotherhood in parliamentary and presidential elections has changed the mood -- particularly as the biggest opposition party is the even more hardline Salafist movement which wants strict Sharia law implemented."

Court Case Begins Monday, Jan. 7, against Scott Lively: "With full knowledge that these are bald-faced lies, SMUG asserts that 1) I masterminded the 2009 Anti-Homosexuality Bill in Uganda, which they call the '“Kill the Gays Bill,' 2) inflamed passions against homosexuals in Uganda by characterizing all homosexuals as irredeemable genocidal child molesters, and 3) introduced to Uganda the heretofore unknown strategy of criminalizing public promotion of homosexuality as a means of opposing the rise of a homosexual movement in Uganda. The proof that these are lies is found in the very same documents they misuse against me." Read background information below:

About 100 million Christians persecuted around the world: "...with conditions worsening for them most rapidly in Syria and Ethiopia.... Of the top 10 countries on the list - North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Maldives, Mali, Iran, Yemen and Eritrea - eight are majority Muslim states threatened by what Open Doors called 'Islamic extremism'. North Korea has kept its number one ranking for the past 11 years because it is illegal simply to be a Christian there."

Christians dubbed threat to 'national security': "The Libyan government has now arrested seven people for preaching the gospel and tortured at least one, claiming the missionaries are a threat to national security.... Muslim governments – most notably Iran’s – constantly suppress any talk of Christianity, claiming it threatens ‘our national security.’... Islamists have gained significant political influence, and sentences against proselytizing, blasphemy and apostasy are being enforced to an extent never seen under former dictatorships.” Many Christians found refuge in Libya before Obama joined the radical forces that favored revolution.

Terrorists Slashing Throats of Nigerian-Christians: "Last week marked the third straight year that the terror group has murdered Nigerian Christians in the church on a Christmas day.... In the last three years, over 3000 have been sent to tragic deaths.... Our government in Washington DC, especially the White House and the State Department are fully aware of what is going on. But both President Barack Obama and outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have simply tolerated this impunity by their inaction....

Strange but true. Syria – Thank God for the Russians: "Only Russian and Chinese resistance to Western stupidity is standing between Israel, Syria’s Alawite minority, the Christians in Syria – and a bloodbath. The Christian church will go the same way as our brothers in Iraq where the American and British invasion and toppling of Saddam, despotic as he was, has led directly to systematic persecution of the Christian church. In every country affected by the ‘Arab Spring’ the writing is on the wall for Christians.

"Similarly in Syria....On 12th March this year, Sheik Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, the grand mufti of Saudi Arabia, declared that it is 'necessary to destroy all the churches of the region.' ... Muhammad [supposedly] declared, 'There are not to be two religions in the [Arabian] Peninsula.' ...destroying churches is not only permitted but mandatory.'...

Nigerian attackers kill dozens of Christians: "On Saturday, July 7, coordinated attacks killed dozens of people in Nigeria's Plateau state. Murdering 1,000 Christians Is Not Terrorism Says U.S.: "In the past three years, over 1,000 Christians in Nigeria have been brutally murdered by an extremist Islamic group known as Boko Haram, and the United States has refused to classify the group as being a terrorist organization....The radical Islamic group has vowed to eradicate all Christians from Nigerian soil and will continue to murder men, women and children in the process unless something is done to stop them. ...the U.S. government...said that it was more important to address social inequalities in the country first."

Convert from Islam to Christianity beheaded, video shown on Egyptian TV (Arab Spring!): "One man chants a number of Muslim prayers in Arabic, mostly condemning Christianity. The man holding the knife to the Christian convert’s throat begins to cut, slowly severing the head amid cries of 'Allahu Akbar' (“god is great”). ...the Egypt Today presenter was visibly distressed by the scenes. Then, referring to Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis, who together hold the majority of seats in the country’s parliament, he asked, 'How are such people supposed to govern?' The Obama Administration’s Genocide Denial: "A mob attack on Muslims in Burma immediately resulted in a condemnation from the State Department and a call for its government to make more concessions to Muslims. But a car bombing and shooting attack on two churches in Nigeria have not been similarly commented on by the State Department, sending the message that Muslim life is precious, but Christian life is cheap. The Muslim dead of Burma are sacred, but the Christian dead of Nigeria are only more dead infidels." See Hating Truth and Primed for Deception

A Tale of Two American Martyrs: "Apologists for Islamic persecution of Christians regularly argue that the animosity is not driven by religion, but rather a 'sectarian' divide, as well as any number of 'indigenous' factors—poverty, intertribal conflicts, political machinations, etc. Other times, persecuted Christians are portrayed as Zionists and rapists, spies and traitors—anything other than people killed for their Christian faith.

'They murdered our children, they raped our daughter,' she said. 'We have nothing left with us.'

"In a country where Muslim criminals believe police and courts will give little credence to the complaints of Christians, the family accuses three Muslims of gang-raping the girl at an outhouse on March 29.....Police refused to file their complaint for more than a week, during which time the suspects repeatedly threatened the family.... 'They told us we were poor and weak and could not face them no matter how much we tried,' Masih said."

Obama: Slaughter of Christians a 'misunderstanding': "The violence in northern Nigeria is mistakenly viewed as a religious conflict rather than simply a tribal dispute over land, according to the Obama administration. House Church Pastor in China Sentenced to Labor Camp: "Pastor Shi Enhao, the deputy chairman of the Chinese House Church Alliance, has been sentenced to a two-year stay in a Chinese labor camp under the accusation of holding 'illegal meetings and illegal organizing of venues for religious meetings.' The punishment is one that is 'extra-judicial' [almost sounds like today's Executive Orders] and didn't require police to wait for a trial or criminal conviction before they implemented it....

"The Domestic Security Protection Department ordered Pastor Shi's church to stop meeting and has confiscated their musical instruments, choir robes, the congregation's car, and 140,000 yuan ($21,712.50) in donations. ... Mr. Chen said he still expected to leave China and study in the U.S. under a deal brokered between Washington and Beijing....But the blind activist also displayed a measure of frustration with the Chinese government, calling the charges against his nephew 'unreasonable,' and urging authorities to make good on a pledge to investigate the treatment of him and his family at the hands of local officials ... Mr. Chen's nephew, missing since shortly after Mr. Chen fled his home village in late April, was recently arrested and formally charged with attempted murder after a violent scuffle with local authorities. ...at least two lawyers who had promised to defend the nephew have been warned to keep clear of the case, with one of the lawyers saying his license had been suspended. The Fate of Syria 'Cut Into Pieces and Thrown in the River': "Should 'rebels' get their way and topple the Assad regime, the same brutal pattern experienced by Iraq's Christian minorities will come to Syria, where an anti-Assad Muslim preacher recently urged Muslims to 'tear apart, chop up and feed' Christians to the dogs....

"Christian minorities, who, as 10% of the Syrian population, have the most to gain from a secular government and the most to suffer from a state run by Islamic Sharia law, have no choice but to prefer Assad. They are already seeing aspects of the alternative.

"A recent Barnabas Fund report, 'Christians in Syria Targeted in Series of Kidnappings and Killings; 100 Dead,' tells how 'children were being especially targeted by the kidnappers, who, if they do not receive the ransom demanded, kill the victim.' In one instance, kidnappers videotaped a Christian boy as they murdered him in an attempt to frame the government; one man 'was cut into pieces and thrown in a river' and another 'was found hanged with numerous injuries.'...

"'Christians have mostly stayed away from the protests in Syria, having been well treated and afforded a considerable amount of religious freedom under President Assad's regime.' After all, 'should Assad fall, it is feared that Syria could go the way of Iraq.... Saddam, like Assad, restrained the influence of militant Islamists, but after his fall they were free to wreak havoc on the Christian community....'

"In short, should 'rebels' get their way and topple the Assad regime, the same brutal pattern experienced by Iraq's Christian minorities—who have been likened to, and killed off like, dogs, to a point nearing extinction—will come to Syria, where an anti-Assad Muslim preacher recently urged Muslims to 'tear apart, chop up and feed' Christians who support Assad 'to the dogs.'" Christians in Syria targeted in series of kidnappings and killings; 100 dead: "Christians are identified with the relatively secular Alawite Assad regime; if it falls to an Islamic supremacist regime, life for the Christian community in Syria will get very hard. North Korean defectors' grim fate: "While all defectors sent back from China are believed to face harsh punishment [death, torture or starvation in prison camps] upon their return to North Korea, the group now in China is particularly at risk: the North Korean government has said that anyone caught defecting during the period of mourning for Kim Jong Il’s death would have three generations of family members executed....

Unluckily for Mehek and her family, the kidnappers hailed from a prominent Muslim family, which prompted local Pakistani authorities to refuse to investigate the case. ...it is estimated that over 700 Christian girls suffer this terrible fate every year in Pakistan..." House church leader kidnapped in Iraq: "...a young Iraqi girl recently told VOM contacts that Muslims broke into her home and took her father, Jamal. Pastor Jamal works among the Shabak people -- a people who have Jewish roots and speak Arabic and Kurdish. It is suspected the militants targeted him for helping lead many Muslims to Christ. The House Prisons of Beijing: "Chinese state media announced late Wednesday that the Beijing police department released artist Ai Weiwei on bail 'because of his good attitude in confessing his crimes as well as a chronic disease he suffers from.' It will be heartening to see Mr. Ai safe at home, but the suggestion that the bail was granted as some kind of a favor adds insult to the injury of his persecution. Mr. Ai was arrested on April 3 and held in violation of China's own laws....Mr. Ai is known for being relentlessly outspoken, which is what led to his disappearance, and after a global campaign for his release the media will want to hear his story. But he will be under intense pressure not to speak out." See Brainwashing & "Education Reform"

Bloody Wednesday (Holocaust in 1943): "Several days before what would be known as 'Bloody Wednesday' a work crew of military soldiers, POW's, and Jews at the concentration camp in Poland began digging three six foot deep ditches that measured 100 yards each. The Jews, who had worked the day before to dig the ditches, were ordered to march into the ditches 10 at a time and lay face down. The music was used to cover up the machine gun fire that began and ended the massacre. By 5 pm on Wednesday, November 3rd, 1943 over 16,000 Jews were dead. Beijing Police Detain Group of Christians: "Police in Beijing detained more than 30 evangelical Christians as they attempted to gather outdoors for Easter services and confined about 500 to their homes, continuing a broad crackdown on dissent that has also targeted lawyers, bloggers and human-rights activists....The recent crackdown comes during a period of heightened tension in Beijing as anonymous online calls for a 'Jasmine Revolution' have set the country's security apparatus on edge....

The church's pastor, Jin Tianming, is among those under detention in his home. He said police officers were stationed 24 hours a day outside his residence in Beijing to prevent him from leaving.

Pakistani Police Allegedly Make Threats after Murdering Christian: "Pakistani police are threatening the father of an 18-year-old Christian man whom officers raped, killed and threw into a sewer last week....Police registered a case against the culprits, but they have not filed it ... and police have done everything possible to save their fellow policemen.'"

Muslim Villager in Pakistan Allegedly Rapes Sixth Christian Girl: "A Muslim who allegedly confessed to sexually assaulting five Christian girls raped a 10-year-old Catholic girl in Punjab Province last month, according to her family."

Now it is the other way around’ — the moral revolution in full view: "In the course of a single generation, the sexual morality that has survived for thousands of years is giving way to a radically different moral understanding. Just consider the couple in the United Kingdom who were recently found guilty of discrimination because they allowed only married couples to share a bed at their small hotel....

"What makes this case particularly troubling is the nature of the judge’s decision. Judge Andrew Rutherford ruled that the Bulls would have to sacrifice their Christian convictions if they intend to own and manage their hotel.

"Mrs. Bull told the court, 'We accept that the Bible is the holy living word of God and we endeavor to follow it as far as we are able.' In this specific case, it meant that the Bulls would restrict rooms with a double bed to married couples. They enforced this policy regardless of sexual orientation — a point acknowledged by the judge.

"Nevertheless, Judge Rutherford stated: 'It is inevitable that such laws will from time to time cut across deeply held beliefs of individuals and sections of society for they reflect the social attitudes and morals prevailing at the time that they are made.'

"Affirming the swift reversal of public morality on the issue of homosexuality, the judge commented: 'It is a very clear example of how social attitudes have changed over the years for it is not so very long ago that these beliefs of the defendants would have been those accepted as normal by society at large. Now it is the other way around.'" See Paradigm Shift: Total transformation

Seeking Gao Zhisheng: "The word 'missing' is a euphemism in China, where dissident Gao Zhisheng likely has now spent eight months in a frightening system of illegal government detention for his work speaking out for human rights and the rule of law.

'The degree of cruelty,' he said, 'there's no way to recount it.' Sometime in 2009, three agents stripped Mr. Gao and began beating him with their holstered guns, plus other acts he would not describe [including electrical shocks to his private parts]. It lasted around the clock for two days. 'When all three officers tired...they bound his arms and legs with plastic bags and threw him to the floor until they caught their breath to resume the abuse.'

"During his short time on the outside in April, he asked the police why they didn't just put him in prison. 'You're going to prison,' they replied, 'that's a dream. You're not good enough for that. Whenever we want you to disappear, you will disappear.'...

Sudan: "The predominantly Christian and traditionalist black African Southern Sudan has seen almost nonstop war with the Arabic-speaking and Muslim North since the country’s independence from Britain in 1956. Two million people are thought to have died in recent years in the battered South, an impoverished land.... Oil added a new intensity to the conflict in the ‘90s, a period which also saw the rise of the Islamist regime of Omar al Bashir. He’s since been indicted by the International Criminal Court for his role in the Darfur conflict in Western Sudan. But it’s the enduring North-South war that got the attention of evangelical Protestants in America....

"There remain sensitive issues that could inflame tensions or worse: drawing borders, deciding on the rights of Southerners living in the North and vice versa, and a critical permanent oil-sharing revenue agreement still needs to be negotiated. The new South Sudan, should that nation emerge, will be one of the poorest on earth. Paved roads, hospitals, and schools are virtually nonexistent, and the peace remains precarious. But all those worries have been cast aside by the euphoria of this moment..."

Iran Rounds Up 70 Christians Since Christmas: "Iran has arrested about 70 Christians... in a crackdown that demonstrates the limits of religious tolerance by Islamic leaders who often boast they provide room for other faiths.... Pakistani marked for death for support of Christian: "The fact that the governor [Taseer] very courageously took a public stand against the death penalty in the case of the Christian woman [Asia Bibi] accused of blasphemy, made him a marked man....In Islamic law, blasphemy ["a matter of perception"] and slander carry the death penalty automatically....

"Taseer got himself into trouble when he spoke against Pakistan's blasphemy law. 'Pakistan's laws are in accordance with Shariah [Islamic law]....

"...a sizable percentage of terrorist acts are 'inside jobs.' ...Taseer's assassination is likely the first stage of a new intimidation campaign. The more practical, secular, leaders in Pakistan are going to be subjected to more and more intimidation and assassinations as the true-believer Muslims gain strength.... Eyewitnesses Claim Egyptian Security Allowed Bomb Attack on Christians: "Church officials and eyewitnesses say many more victims have yet to be identified after their 'body parts were strewn all over the street outside the church.' ...'some Muslims started stepping on them and chanting Jihadi chants.'...

"Attorney Mamdouh Nakhla...wondered if state security is an accomplice or just too cowardly to confront the Islamists in Egypt who carried out the Church massacre. 'The crime is local and those who committed it are known.... The Al Mujahedeen website threatens to repeat the attack in more churches. The site has addresses of churches and even how to make a bomb. Does security not know about it?'...

"Meanwhile, Islamic extremists are blaming the attack on Jews. Iran’s official television outlet, Press TV, declared Sunday that Israeli Zionists were actually behind the bomb plot. 'It goes without saying that no Muslim, whatever their political leanings may be, will ever commit such an inhuman act, 'the station said." See Don't Be Deceived!

Guess who leads surge in Christian persecution: "While North Korea remains No. 1 because of its total repression of faith...'the most dangerous countries in which to practice Christianity are overwhelmingly Islamic.'...Iran, which clamps down on a growing house church movement; Afghanistan, where thousands of believers cluster deep underground; and Saudi Arabia, which still refuses to allow any Saudi person to convert to Christianity. Others are lawless Somalia, ruled by bloodthirsty terrorists threatening to kill Christian aid workers who feed Somalia's starving, impoverished people; tiny Maldives, which mistakenly boasts it is 100 percent Islamic; Yemen with its determination to expel all Christian workers; and Iraq, which saw extremists massacre 58 Christians in a Baghdad cathedral on Oct. 31..."

Pakistani governor killed by own guard in capital: "The governor of Pakistan's powerful Punjab province was shot dead in the capital Tuesday by one of his guards, who told interrogators afterward that he was angry about the politician's stance against the country's blasphemy law....The killing of Salman Taseer was the most high-profile assassination of a political figure in Pakistan since the slaying of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in December 2007, and it rattled a country already dealing with crises ranging from a potential collapse of the government to Islamist militancy....

"Taseer was a member of Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party....But it was his very public stance against the blasphemy law that apparently led to his killing. Pakistan's blasphemy law has come under greater scrutiny in recent days after a Christian woman was sentenced to death for allegedly insulting Islam's Prophet Muhammad. The law effectively orders death for anyone convicted of insulting Islam."

Egyptian Christians Request Prayer: "Our evangelical outreach was canceled because the police are destroying a church in the area where we live and serve. Christians gathered in front of the government building to protest. To everyone's horror, the police opened fire on them. An unknown number of people have died so far.... Muslims were even hitting the Christian children in schools and people who were going to church in the morning. Children and churchgoers fled and remain frightened in their homes. No one is able to leave home or to go any place. It is something like war between the police and the Christians. Twenty-five homes of Christians have been burnt to the ground....

"Please pray that the Lord will...help those people who are suffering physically and emotionally. Pray especially that the Lord will make us able to encourage our neighbors as we live and serve God among them." See Our Refuge in Christ

[Vietnam] Persecution of believing community being stepped up: "Officials in Hanoi and Da Nang locked out the Christians from the buildings and police surrounded the meeting facility in Hanoi and moved in to force the crowds to disperse. Compass Direct reports that the harassment was aimed at literally hundreds of Christians from 10 northern provinces..." See They Gave Him Their Lives

Older: Algerian Christians Arrested for Eating During Muslim Fast: (9-23-10) "Hocine Hocini and Fellak Salem appeared before the provincial court in Ain El Hammam, Algeria, for eating at noon on a private construction site during the month of Ramadan. The Algerians were arrested by police officers who enforced the legal provisions that protect Islamic religious regulations from being disobeyed; therefore, these Christians must answer for their 'illegal' sacrilegious act. 'I am optimistic,' said Hocini. 'I have no regrets, I am a Christian. We are innocent, we have not hurt anyone. We are Christians and we did not eat in a public place.'  'Algeria has ratified international conventions on freedom of worship,' said Ait Larbi, one of the defense lawyers for the two Algerians. 'It is an outright violation of the constitution.' While the international community protests their arrest, crowds of Algerians expressed their fear of unwanted influence from Afghanistan, an Islamic state where people can still be stoned for eating breakfast during the daylight hours of Ramadan."

Vietnam Montagnard Christians “Tortured” For Refusing To Worship Communist Leader (May 28, 2006): "Several indigenous Degar Montagnard Christians in Vietnam's Central Highlands recovered from their injuries Sunday, May 28, after they were detained and tortured by Vietnamese security forces for refusing to abandon their Christian faith and follow the 'official' Communist-backed church, their friends said. Since May 16 police took at least three Christian Degar Montagnards from Bon Djrong village in Vietnam's Gialai Province to what a 'communal committee office' to explain why they refuse to worship in what is known as 'Siu Kim's Church', said the advocacy group Montagnard Foundation Incorporated (MFI). Siu Kim, a Montagnard working for the government, dedicated the church in February and invited 10,000 Montagnard Christians in the area to participate in the ceremony. But many believers, including apparently those arrested this month, refused to participate as the church worships Siu Kim and Ho Chi Minh, the late Communist leader, MFI said. Instead of a picture of Jesus or a cross, only Ho Chi Minh's picture can be seen in the church, local Christians explained."
