Government Control & Tyranny - 1 (older)
Cops called on 13-year-olds for selling cupcakes: "A politician in a New York suburb called police on two 13-year-old boys for selling cupcakes and other baked goods without a permit. ...the boys, Andrew DeMarchis and Kevin Graff, had a brisk business selling cupcakes, cookies, brownies and Rice Krispie treats for $1 each in a Chappaqua park.... 'I am shocked and sad for the boys. It was such a great idea, and they worked hard at it,' [said] Laura Graff, Kevin's mother."
How and Why the Nazis Went Green: "Their Aryan biology/ecology thus created a government controlled ‘local only’ economy that was doomed to fail. ...the Nazi quest for Lebensraum in the East was an early pioneering attempt at what is today called the Green Economy. It was a backward eco-imperial plan of Aryan sustainable development, all at the expense of Jews and Slavs. ...an Aryan environmentalism rooted in a romantic, evolutionary philosophy of man and nature."
Why Europeans Can't Throw a Tea Party: "Tea partiers don't get much positive press here in Europe. They are generally portrayed either as a gaggle of stump-toothed Appalachian mountain men or as a KKK lynch-mob. A typical column in Britain's Guardian newspaper last month described them as 'a movement most of whose emergent stars would appear to be better suited to prison or lunatic asylums.' The Guardian is a left-of-center newspaper. But our Conservative Prime Minister, David Cameron, has also felt it necessary to signal his disapprobation....'We Europeans, they will say, are more balanced.'
"Lurking behind the Euro-sophism is an uneasy sense that, if there were open primaries on this side of the Atlantic, voters might start demanding all sorts of unreasonable things—might, in other words, start behaving like tea partiers....
"[America's] primaries ensure that legislatures remain diverse, independent of the executive, and responsive to public opinion....You don't know how lucky you are to have them, my friends."
Obamachine pulls the plug on appliances: "Regulation-weary Americans had better brace themselves for another load of government-knows-best activism as President Obama's green czarina claims she has a mandate to pick what household appliances we can use in the future."
'Lockdown' searches of students challenged as illegal: "A lawsuit is being filed against a Missouri school district after officials there announced a 'lockdown,' ordered students to leave their classrooms without their backpacks and then had sheriff's officers search personal possessions while the students were detained.... 'The lesson being imparted – one that goes against every fundamental principle this country was founded upon – is that we have no rights at all against the state or the police.' The complaint explains that such mass searches of students and their possessions violate the United States and Missouri Constitutions."
ObamaCare for the Internet: "With housing, automakers, banking, student loans, and health care checked off the list, next on Team Obama's agenda is the National Broadband Plan, better known as Net Neutrality. Quite simply, it is a plan allowing the federal government to take over the nation's telecommunication platform, giving the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) centralized control of the internet. The fact that the FCC has no legal authority to regulate internet providers has not deterred administration efforts to regulate all electronic speech, news, and information." See Deceit, Delusion and the Destruction of America
Tim Russert -- Death NOT a Coincidence
Rule by Decree: "America’s economic strength has always depended upon a healthy legal climate for business activity — an environment in which rights and obligations are legally enforceable. Obama has discovered that, using federal regulatory action to create uncertainty and prohibitive risk for private commerce, he has almost unchecked power to advance his green-energy agenda by shutting down entire sectors of the U.S. economy." See Deceit, Delusion and the Destruction of America
Islam and the Left -- Two sides of the same coin : "On the surface of it they seem to have very little in common. The left claims to be progressive, embraces gay bars, abortions, feminism, worker’s rights civil rights, multiculturalism....The Islamists...hang gays... and repress minorities and freedom of expression. This seeming contrast baffles many who demand to know how for example the left can champion Islamic regimes....
"The people asking the question have mistaken the facade for the reality. The left is socially progressive only in its revolutionary phase. The Soviet Union, Castro’s Cuba and Communist China all had much the same view of gay people– that Iran does today. While gay writers in America campaigned for the USSR or Cuba, both those regimes imprisoned gay writers. Homosexuality was a criminal offense in the USSR until its actual fall. None of this bothered liberals in the West, who were happy to trek to Moscow, meet with Soviet leaders and blame the US for the Cold War. And then come home and talk about how intolerant the United States is.... An actual left wing dictatorship brutally represses everything they claim to fight for." See Don't Be Deceived!
Obama's on the verge of outright dictatorship: "Obama has consistently declared his view that the Constitution's purposeful restraint of government power is obsolete. ...he and his faction have signaled their intent to circumvent, undermine or simply set aside the authority of the U.S. Constitution.... Now 'eight Republican senators…are warning that the Obama administration is drafting a plan to 'unilaterally' issue blanket amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants....' Not content merely to ignore the laws the legislature has properly and constitutionally made, Obama signals the intention to undertake unilateral executive action that alters the clear terms and intention of the established laws." See Deceit, Delusion and the Destruction of America
'Allahu Akbar!' shouted as Christians handcuffed: "Four Christians were arrested and thrown out of a public Arab festival in Michigan... for doing nothing more than engaging in peaceful dialogue and videotaping the event. Nabeel Qureshi, David Wood, Paul Rezkalla and 18-year-old Negeen Mayel attended the 15th annual Dearborn Arab International Festival on June 18 in Dearborn, Mich., where an estimated 30,000 of the city's 98,000 residents are Muslim.... The American Arab Chamber of Commerce announced the event was expected to draw 'over 300,000 people.... In the following video...Qureshi said his group took 'extra precautions' to prevent disruptions by not handing out pamphlets and to speak only to people 'who first approached us.'"See God's Warnings for our Times
Is U.S. Now On Slippery Slope To Tyranny? "When Adolf Hitler was building up the Nazi movement in the 1920s... he deliberately sought to activate people who did not normally pay much attention to politics. ...they were particularly susceptible to Hitler's rhetoric and had far less basis for questioning his assumptions or his conclusions. 'Useful idiots' was the term supposedly coined by V.I. Lenin to describe similarly unthinking supporters....
"The president's poll numbers are going down because increasing numbers of people disagree with particular policies of his, but the damage being done to the fundamental structure of this nation goes far beyond particular counterproductive policies. Just where in the Constitution of the United States does it say that a president has the authority to extract vast sums of money from a private enterprise and distribute it as he sees fit to whomever he deems worthy of compensation?" See Deceit, Delusion and the Destruction of America
Intimidation nation: "Almost every destructive agenda being promoted in America today is being advanced, not through logical argument, but intimidation....The president, a disciple of Saul Alinsky, and his administration rely heavily on ridicule, which is very intimidating. (Remember rule No. 5 from Alinsky's... Rules for Radicals: 'Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.')
"When normal citizens opposed Obama's unprecedented power grab right after inauguration, his Department of Homeland Security labeled them 'right-wing extremists' and terror threats.... Oppose the gay activist agenda... and you're branded a 'hater' and morally equivalent to a racist....
"We all need to learn to stare evil straight in the face, without doubting or becoming confused about what we're seeing – but at the same time not fall to hating it. This was Jesus' unmistakable message to us from the cross, when he said, 'Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.'" See What Jesus taught us to pray
Arizona passes law banning multilingual requirement for businesses: "Learning other languages... should not be a legal requirement for a person's business.... If the immigrant cannot or will not adapt and prefers to live in an ethnic ghetto that is the immigrant's right. But imposing the alien culture onto this country, expecting the host culture--the US's--to adapt to the immigrant's culture by rule of law and suing to bring it about should be illegal." See Deceit, Delusion and the Destruction of America
Nazi Philosophy in Today's America: "Nazis are not fascists but belong to global socialism, a section of the radical left. I grew up during the Nazi regime, and following are some current developments that remind me of that time. The Nazi intent was to throw God out of society.... Christians were told by the Nazis that we could pray and sing hymns in our homes and churches, but the rules and control of society were the exclusive responsibility of the state, that is, the German National Socialist Workers Party alone. Here, the White House, Congress and the judiciary allow the ACLU to destroy the fundamentals of our founding. The Nazis and their modern counterparts in government in the U.S. realized that their control of government would be difficult if people were obedient to a higher authority – God. The international socialists, the Soviets, had come to the same conclusion." Hitler & The Power of Propaganda
Terror attacks raise tension between Obama and GOP (Congress deliberately being denied critical national security information?) "...Now there is Shahzad. While the White House suggests that Americans 'celebrate' his capture, Hoekstra and fellow Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee are growing increasingly frustrated about what they see as the administration's refusal to tell Congress what's going on.... Obama has made a new approach to terrorism one of the key features of his presidency. He no longer calls the nation's anti-terror effort the War on Terror. He has reached out to the Muslim world." Venezuelan civilians train to fight for Chavez: "Known as the Bolivarian Militia, this spirited group of mostly working-class men and women — from students to retirees — are united by their militant support for President Hugo Chavez and their willingness to defend his government. From what exactly? Mr. Chavez has warned repeatedly of potential threats: the United States, U.S.-allied Colombia and the Venezuelan 'oligarchy,' as he labels opponents. He has called on recruits to be ready to lay down their lives if necessary to battle 'any threat, foreign or domestic,' even though Venezuela has never fought a war against another nation....
"In the meantime, the militia is a practical tool for Mr. Chavez to engage his supporters, rally nationalist fervor and intimidate any opponents.... One close aide, Public Works Minister Diosdado Cabello, said the militia already is 120,000 strong and could grow to 200,000.....The militia 'is a personal army, a Praetorian Guard,' said retired Rear Adm. Elias Buchszer, a Chavez opponent. Despite Mr. Chavez's talk about repelling a U.S. invasion... the militia is really aimed at maintaining control, keeping him in power....Members of the volunteer force range from the unemployed to electricians, bankers and social workers." See From Freedom to Servitude
Future police: Meet the UK's armed robot drones: "Last month it was revealed that modified military aircraft drones will carry out surveillance on everyone from protesters and antisocial motorists to fly-tippers, and will be in place in time for the 2012 Olympics. Surveillance is only the start, however. Military drones quickly moved from reconnaissance to strike, and if the British police follow suit, their drones could be armed -- but with non-lethal weapons.... The drones are cheaper than police helicopters -- some of which will be retired....
"French company Tecknisolar Seni has demonstrated a portable drone armed with a double-barrelled 44mm Flash-Ball gun. Used by French special police units, the one-kilo Flash-Ball resembles a large calibre handgun and fires non-lethal rounds, including tear gas and rubber impact rounds to bring down a suspect without permanent damage." See Our Freedom in Christ
Radicals to rule us all: "What do Craig Becker, Chai R. Feldblum and Jacqueline A. Berrien have in common? They're the latest left-wing activists to gain public office in President Obama's gallery of radical rulers, courtesy of recess appointments on March 27. Mr. Becker is a labor lawyer who has pledged to force 'card check' on the nation's workplaces, which would end the right to work without being a union member.... Mr. Becker, who was counsel for Andy Stern's radical, ACORN-linked Service Employees International Union (SEIU)... is now on the five-member National Labor Relations Board....
"Ms. Feldblum once said the culture war could be resolved in a simple manner: 'Gays win, Christians lose.'
"Ms. Berrien.... was a staff attorney for the ACLU." See Trading U.S. Rights for UN Rules
The Coming Dictatorship: "I have long believed that the mathematics of an insatiable entitlement society in the U.S. guarantees a runaway inflation, which likely would be followed by anarchy and chaos – a perfect excuse for government to resort to strong-armed totalitarian measures to 'restore order.' My model has always been Germany's Weimar Republic in the 1920s, where runaway inflation brought Adolf Hitler to power." See From Freedom to Servitude - Part 3: Deceit, Delusion and the Destruction of America
Van Jones -- "Transform" U.S. Economy: "Van Jones, President Obama's former 'green jobs' czar and newly appointed Princeton lecturer, has teamed up with a coalition of extremists to push an environmental activist agenda to 'transform the American economy' and bring about 'social change.' The groups working with Jones have been described as using the tactics of guerrilla communication, agitation and disruption techniques." See Was Marx a Satanist?
Holland is scared: "Geert Wilders argues that more than a religion, Islam is a totalitarian ideology, and as evidence he points to the violence and absence of basic human rights in Muslim communities.... The prosecution in his trial claims that it is of no importance at all whether Wilders is speaking the truth, because what he is saying is illegal. If the truth is illegal, there is something hugely wrong with the law." SeeTaking a Stand
Loving [Nazi] tyranny? Germans Cringe at Hitler's Popularity in Pakistan: "Many in South Asia have nothing but admiration for Adolf Hitler and still associate Germany with the Third Reich. Everyday encounters with the love of all things Nazi makes German visitors cringe.... Pakistanis always hone in on that topic whenever they talk to Germans. 'We're Aryans too,' they say, because there was an Indo-Germanic race, the Aryas. Besides, Hitler was a military genius..." See Auschwitz - Part 1
Obama surrenders gulf oil to Moscow: "The Obama administration is poised to ban offshore oil drilling on the outer continental shelf until 2012 or beyond. Meanwhile, Russia is making a bold strategic leap to begin drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico....From Russia's perspective, this is another way to gain leverage inside what traditionally has been America's sphere of influence."
Without Firing a Shot? "The American people are getting a bird's-eye view of what the left, which completely dominates the Democratic Party, thinks of the Constitution, freedom and the right of the people to self-governance. The people now attempting to govern us with an iron fist are Marxist-leaning in terms of not only the policies they support but also the ruthless tactics they employ to enact those policies into law.... They have tried every trick in the book to pass Obamacare, such as lying about many substantive provisions in the bill and their inevitable effects on quality, price and choice." See The Intelligent Student's Guide to the New World Order
White House land grab by Sen. Jim DeMint: "...the Obama administration is ...planning to increase their control over energy-rich land in the West. A secret administration memo has surfaced revealing plans for the federal government to seize more than 10 million acres from Montana to New Mexico, halting job-creating activities like ranching, forestry, mining and energy development. Worse, this land grab would dry up tax revenue that's essential for funding schools, firehouses and community centers.... At a time when our national unemployment rate is 9.7 percent, it is unbelievable anyone would be looking to stop job-creating energy enterprises..." See The U.N. Plan for Your "Sustainable" Community
Obama's Terrorist-Shielding Envoy to the Muslim World: "On Feb. 20, 2003, Professor Sami Al-Arian of the University of South Florida was arrested by the Department of Justice for his leadership of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a designated terrorist organization. Al-Arian was a radical supporter of Islamic terrorism, a man who announced at rallies that he sought 'victory to Islam' and 'death to Israel.'...
"On Sept. 5, 2004, law student Rashad Hussain spoke at a Muslim Student Association (MSA) conference. The MSA is in and of itself a troublesome organization, which has been repeatedly linked to terror -- but that wasn't the main problem. The main problem was Hussain's speech, in which he explicitly defended Al-Arian, calling his prosecution… a travesty of justice.…
"On Feb. 28, 2006, Sami Al-Arian pled guilty to conspiracy to help Islamic Jihad. And on Feb. 14, 2010, President Barack Obama appointed Rashad Hussain to his Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Conference."
Why the West is going down the drain (by Mark Steyn): "This is a perfect snapshot of the West at twilight. On the one hand, governments of developed nations microregulate every aspect of your life in the interests of 'keeping you safe.' On the other hand, when it comes to 'keeping you safe' from real threats, such as a millenarian theocracy that claims universal jurisdiction, America and its allies do nothing....
"...the slow-motion nuclearization conducted in full view and through years of tortuous diplomatic charades... is not just a victory for Iran but a decisive defeat for the United States. It confirms the Islamo-Sino-Russo-everybody else diagnosis of Washington as a hollow superpower that no longer has the will or sense of purpose to enforce the global order." See From Freedom to Servitude
(Islam & Communism). Russia to deliver missile defense to Iran: "Russia also intends to see the system delivered to Syria, from which it can also be transferred to the Hezbollah militia operating in Lebanon."
Hitler’s Green Killing Machine: "Historians have either overlooked or forgotten that sweeping Nazi environmental laws, all signed by Hitler and considered to be his pet projects, preceded the racially charged Nuremberg Laws, reflecting the fact that Nazi racism was rooted in ecology. The shocking climax of the infamous 1940 Nazi documentary film entitled 'The Eternal Jew' stunningly reveals a strong green rationalization based on animal rights for the looming destruction of the Jews....
"German zoologist Ernst Haeckel, the racist Darwinist who coined the term 'ecology' in 1866, posited that the Jewish transcendent view of man over nature made them resistant to evolutionary biological change, and hence the Jews had become a lesser race....
"To the Nazis, the Jews had become a wandering and threatening invasive species because of their steadfastness to universal transcendent values in opposition to the Social Darwinian evolutionary laws of Nature. They were 'eternal' vagabonds, uprooted from Nature and destructive to local national populations with alien economic practices and politics. ...Thus, what later became known as the Final Solution was in fact an eco-imperial plan rooted in racist biology with ecological predilections." SeeGorbachev's Plan For A United World
Playing Freedom Cheap: "If eternal vigilance is the price of freedom, incessant distractions are the way that politicians take away our freedoms... Dire alarms and heady crusades are among the many distractions....
"The most politically effective totalitarian systems have gotten people to give up their own freedom in order to vent their resentment or hatred at other people— under Communism, the capitalists; under Nazis, the Jews. Under extremist Islamic regimes today, hatred is directed at the infidels in general and the 'great Satan,' the United States..." See Alinsky's Rules for Radicals

Russia is reasserting itself in the Caucasus to form a buffer between its borders and the rising level of radical Islam..."

Spreading AIDS to Uganda: "While President Obama has lifted restrictions on AIDS-infected foreigners entering the United States, the 'gay rights'lobby is demanding more.... In a letter to Uganda President Yoweri Museveni, Senator Dick Durbin and 11 other Democratic liberals complain that Uganda's consideration of a bill to toughen laws against homosexuality 'is in great contrast to trends toward greater tolerance in the global community.'...
"...for more than a year, Democratic Party financial sponsor George Soros has been funding efforts in Uganda and elsewhere in Africa to expand rights for homosexuals and legalize prostitution. Ugandan legislators and pro-family activists fought back in 2009, urging legislation to protect children from homosexual predators....
"The targeting of Ugandan youth by foreign homosexuals is well-known in Uganda. George Oundo, a former homosexual, has confessed that he recruited school children into homosexuality as part of a program funded by foreign interests....
"Resisting this new and insidious form of Western imperialism, Uganda pastors... have been outspoken in their support of the need for new legislation to protect families and children. They say they don't want homosexuality to become part of their culture, in the same way that it has been accepted in the U.S. and other Western countries and has contributed to the spread of AIDS and other dangerous diseases....

Obama Administration: If Congress Doesn't Act, We Will: "...the Obama administration has some serious ambitions and plans to bypass Congress and enact a cap-and-tax system through federal regulations. If Congress fails to act, the White House is now warning, the Obama administration intends to: ....'take a 'command-and-control' role over the process in a way that could hurt business....
"So if Congress won't pass the cap-and-trade bill which the public DOES NOT want passed, the Obama administration will step in and act, fully knowing that the EPA's regulations would hurt the nation's economy." See Trading U.S. Rights for UN Rules
SEIU Investigate Boy Scout volunteer: "The labor union backed by President Obama ["he expressed the desire to 'paint the nation purple with SEIU'"] is threatening action against a Pennsylvania city for allowing a Boy Scout to build a park trail for his Eagle project. Iran's leader makes inroads in Latin America: "Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won support for his country's nuclear ambitions and expanded his reach in Latin America in a three-country goodwill tour that took him to close ally Venezuela for his final stop. Venezuela's main opposition political parties condemned the Iranian president's visit.... saying in a statement that President Hugo Chavez is developing a 'dangerous alliance' with Teheran." Interesting to see how wellAlinsky's Rules for Radicals fit Islam's revolutionary plans.
Separation of Mosque & State: "Thanks to liberal judges everywhere, virtually everyone has heard of the 'separation of church and state.' But what about 'separation of mosque and state?' Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an outspokenly aggressive Muslim, yelled 'Allahu akbar,' Arabic for 'Allah is great,' before killing 14.... He had reportedly praised Muslim suicide bombers on the Internet; refused, in the name of Islam.... Is Islam 1) a religious system, 2) a political system or 3) a military system? The answer is all three, as Muhammad was: 1) a religious leader 2) a political leader and 3) a military leader."[Old Video]

Detroit Jihad: "...in his mosque in Detroit Luqman Abdullah was preaching 'offensive jihad' and the establishment of a Sharia state in North America. This sovereign Isamic state would be ruled by Islamic law – and by the apparent godfather of Abdullah’s movement, Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin. Al-Amin is the former Black Panther and convert to Islam.... Al-Amin is now serving a life sentence for murdering two police officers, while his disciples, like Luqman Abdullah, carry on the message he articulated so memorably in the 1960s: 'If America don’t come around, we’re gonna burn it down.' In the spirit of his mentor, Abdullah has told his flock: 'America must fall."
White House Tactics Go Too Far [Charles Krauthammer]: "Defend Fox from the likes of Anita Dunn? She's been attacked for extolling Mao's political philosophy in a speech at a high school graduation. But the critics miss the surpassing stupidity of her larger point: She was invoking Mao as support and authority for her impassioned plea for individuality and trusting one's own choices. Mao as champion of individuality? Mao, the greatest imposer of mass uniformity in modern history, creator of a slave society...?"
White House offensive: "During the eight years of the George W. Bush presidency, the left constantly told us that 'dissent is the highest form of patriotism.' During the Obama presidency, dissent is routinely considered the lowest form of treachery. Candidate Barack Obama promised to be a 'new kind' of leader who would welcome vigorous debate and listen to all opinions. As president, however, he has shown a disturbing intolerance for any viewpoint other than his own."

Card Check Deal in the Works? "Senate Democrats on Friday floated a huge trial balloon announcing a possible compromise deal on the Orwellian-named Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA). Better known as 'card check,' the compromise that was floated would drop the provision that would ban secret ballots for workers when deciding whether or not to unionize their workplace.... 'The most onerous provision of the legislation is the binding arbitration,' McKinnon said. 'This is an absolute nightmare for American business which is already strapped to its capacity.… This would be hard to imagine under normal circumstances, but it is impossible to imagine under the current economic climate. This provision really translates into a nationalization of American business. It’s a hostile takeover.' ... 'Under a binding arbitration provision, employees would not even be able to vote on their own contracts.... So they’d be working under conditions over which they have no control..... It would all be left in the hands of a federal bureaucrat....

Pay More, Drive Less, Save the Planet: "To fight climate change, Washington wants you to take a bus.... First there was the 'Federal Surface Transportation Policy and Planning Act of 2009,' introduced in May by Jay Rockefeller (D., W.Va.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, and Frank Lautenberg (D., N.J.), chairman of the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation. Next, in June, came the 'Surface Transportation Authorization Act of 2009,' introduced by James Oberstar (D., Minn.)....
"Messrs. Rockefeller and Lautenberg aim to 'reduce per capita motor vehicle miles traveled on an annual basis.' Control over all water... [H.R. 787, The Clean Water Restoration Act] will give the government more control over the private lives of individuals, especially food producers.... Census GPS-tagging your home's front door: "Some people... are upset over an army of some 140,000 workers hired in part with a $700 million taxpayer-funded contract to collect GPS readings for every front door in the nation. The data collection, presented as preparation for the 2010 Census, is pinpointing with computer accuracy the locations.... Enhancing the concerns is the Obama administration's recent decision to put White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in an oversight role over the census, which will be used to determine a reapportionment of congressional seats and could be used to solidify a single political party's control over the nation, its budget, military and future." Why states are shunning AKA's Stimulus Money: "Louisiana... will not be taking stimulus money that will force expansion of existing programs or the establishing of new programs.... [T]he states are being offered stimulus money with strings attached."

The New Faith Based Initiatives: "...the President and Dubois are looking for new ways to make this organization work for the common good.... Obama plan has billions for cops: "Obama's huge stimulus plan includes about $4 billion to resurrect grants that put tens of thousands of police on the streets during the 1990s.... [R]estoring them was central to Obama's campaign plan to combat rising violence. By tacking the money onto the stimulus plan, Obama avoids having to defend the spending during the normal budget process....
"Another $1 billion in stimulus money is set aside for the Community Oriented Policing Services program begun under President Clinton.... President George Bush slashed both grant programs over the past eight years, citing a series of reports questioning their efficiency and oversight.... But the programs remain popular among many lawmakers, who often used the grants to steer money to their home districts." Be sure to see An Analysis of Community Oriented Policing
Obama to GOP: 'I Won': "During a morning meeting with congressional leaders from both parties, President Obama acknowledged the philosophical differences between his stimulus package and the Republican plan... then noted: 'I won.' They also raised concerns about a refundable tax credit that returns money to those who don’t pay income taxes.'....
"...perhaps taking a cue from Obama’s 'I won' line when Democrats were asked if they were concerned about Republicans blocking the package, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid had a swift one-word answer: 'No.' ...

The team was aggressive and belligerent. The children were quite traumatized. At some point, the 'bad cop' SWAT team was relieved by another team, a 'good cop' team that tried to befriend the family. Doctors Interrogate Children as Informants on Parents' Behavior: "...pediatricians across the United States have begun questioning children about their parents' habits, in some cases even filing police reports based on this information.... 'The doctor wanted to know how much you and mom drink, and if I think it's too much,' Graham reports his daughter saying. 'She asked if you two did drugs, or if there are drugs in the house. The doctor wanted to know how we get along. And if, well, Daddy, if you made me feel uncomfortable.'...
"Graham blames the trend on guidelines issued by the AAP [American Academy of Pediatrics], which classifies parents as 'persons of interest' and encourages doctors to ask children questions in order to uncover inappropriate or illegal behavior....
