Drug 'explosion' expected: "Afghanistan is set to reclaim its position as one of the world's leading producers of opium, the UN has warned amid fears humanitarian assistance is fuelling the war-shattered country's deadly trade. Lakhdar Brahimi, the United Nation's special envoy to Afghanistan, told a major narcotics control conference in Kabul that this year's opium crop was expected to exceed 2,500 tonnes...." See Warriors of the Taliban

A push for preschool for all: "Packard, one of the nation's largest private foundations... will spend the next six months devising a plan that could become the foundation for a drive to make California a preschool model for the nation.... The foundation would work with the Philadelphia-based Pew Charitable Trust, a larger, national foundation that a year ago committed to fund research and advocacy projects that it hopes will lead to universal preschool nationwide." This is part of the cradle-to-grace human resource development system. It involves continual assessments, tracking, and participation in consensus groups. All who score low on conformity and social participation would be remediated. It's essential to global solidarity. See The UN Plan for Your Mental Health.

U.N. land grab in the works: "'UNESCO, through a memorandum of agreement with the Department of State, has designated 47 United Nations biosphere reserves in the United States covering more than 70 million acres, without congressional consultation or approval.' This agreement, reached in the late 1970s, is the basis for the Wildlands Project that is spreading across America like a plague....

"The Everglades is one of the 47 biosphere reserves designated by UNESCO without congressional approval. The Everglades is also a U.N. World Heritage Site ....UNESCO exerts enormous influence over U.S. policy, even though we are no longer members of this organization, simply because past presidents, and certain members of Congress agree with the UNESCO philosophy and objectives." See The UN Plan for Food and Land and search for the Wildlands Project.

Europe to become a Super Power: "EU [European Union] member states must realise the importance of their role in the World, said the EU's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana... Secretary General of the Council of the European Union/High representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Over this period, the Spanish socialist, who is both a former Spanish foreign minister and a former Secretary-General of NATO, has co-ordinated the foreign affairs policies of the EU member states."

Waging war on the lunchbox: "How could a lunchbox encourage kids to graze on snack foods? According to nutritionist Shawn Somerset, 'The lunchbox is a bad system, because it makes it difficult for parents to provide a healthy mix.'...

"Lurking in the background to all this is something far more sinister than obesity: a thing called Agenda 21, adopted illegally by Australia at the Earth Summit in Rio in 1992, never debated in any parliament, and being implemented in Australia by stealth. One stage of that programme concerns the regulation of ‘Patterns of Human Consumption’ – controlling what people are allowed to eat. As in all United Nations social programmes, the targetting of women and children is emphasised. Expect more of this type of activity as funds flow into universities for projects of this nature. Absolutely nothing human beings do is to be left uncontrolled." See Total transformation

Clinton attacks American hawks: "Former U.Ss president Bill Clinton yesterday publicly, and electrifyingly, broke away from his successor, George W. Bush, over Iraq, urging Mr Bush to stick with the UN as the safest way to solve the crisis. In a speech described by one commentator as 'mesmerising,' Mr Clinton was in direct opposition to a tough new line announced in Washington by Mr Bush, and spoke out against a pre-emptive strike on the oil-rich state. ...He said America was not blameless – it had armed Saddam with biological weapons in the 1980s when the US backed Iraq in its war against Iran. [this globalist website."

This is global politics, and Clinton is aiming high. The world loves him all the more for mocking the despised Christian values. No wonder this globalist website is cheering. See The Re-establishment of Peacetime Society and Seeing the world from God's perspective

Why Brussels wants to clear the herbalists' shelves: "The Food Supplements Directive has passed through all its Brussels stages - although not without fierce opposition from Conservative MEPs - and is now awaiting implementation into British law. It will ban hundreds of vitamin and mineral products, and restrict the dosage of others. The Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products Directive is scheduled to become law in 18 months' time. It will affect thousands of natural medicines." See UNESCO: Its purpose and Its Philosophy - especially the first paragraph.

Bush urged to appoint conservative envoy to UNESCO: "...the White House was also warned that many conservative groups were concerned about UNESCO's 'ongoing support of the UN's radical social agenda.' For instance, UNESCO is a co-sponsor of a 1998 U.N. document called 'HIV/AIDS and Human Rights - International Guidelines.' The document calls on governments to support a range of liberal approaches to sexual and reproductive issues. They include the right to abortions, penalties for 'vilification of people who engage in same-sex relationships...." [a standard already used against some pastors who have taught the Biblical position on homosexuality]

"If necessary, the guidelines say, 'traditional and customary' laws that run up against anti-discrimination laws should be changed, together with 'the attitudes associated with them.' ... 'UNESCO has created curricula that many social conservatives would believe undermine parental authority, show disdain for traditional cultures and religious worldviews, and introduce dishonesty into education.'" See UNESCO: Its purpose and Its Philosophy and Lam 1:2

UK urged to ban child smacking: "The United Nations has urged the British Government to change the law which allows parents to smack their children. The UK signed the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child 11 years ago, but according to a report published on Friday it is failing to meet its obligations. The document, written by the UN Committee on The Rights of The Child, says there is 'deep regret' that the UK retained the defence of 'reasonable chastisement' despite the recommendations made seven years ago." See Trading U.S. Rights for UN Rules and International Courts Mock Sovereignty.

President's Remarks at the United Nations General Assembly: "Our commitment to human dignity is challenged by persistent poverty and raging disease. The suffering is great, and our responsibilities are clear. The United States is joining with the world to supply aid where it reaches people and lifts up lives, to extend trade and the prosperity it brings, and to bring medical care where it is desperately needed.

"As a symbol of our commitment to human dignity, the United States will return to UNESCO. (Applause.) This organization has been reformed and America will participate fully in its mission to advance human rights and tolerance and learning."

UNESCO's views of "human rights and tolerance" means "remediation" for all who trust in absolute truth or question the Marxist vision of its first chief, Julian Huxley. See UNESCO: Its purpose and Its Philosophy and Bush, Gorbachev and Soviet Education

Bush decision takes UNESCO by surprise: "..And in the past, some delegates have quietly expressed fears Washington might try to dominate UNESCO's agenda if it returns. 'Creating intellectual and moral solidarity ... cannot be done with any kind of dominancy," said Ahmed Jalali, president of UNESCO's general conference, when asked about such fears. 'It should be through participation, dialogue and sharing of ideas.'" See Reinventing the World - Part 1 and, especially, Part 2 God willing, we will write an article about Unesco and its goals soon.

CEDAW used to promote abortion, homosexuality, and prostitution: "The United States Senate will vote on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) sometime in the coming days or weeks. If CEDAW passes, this UN document will become US law, superceding all current US laws that conflict with it....

"CEDAW... embraces what is called a 'social construct' theory of gender, which holds that all distinctions between the sexes have been created by men to keep women down. CEDAW calls for governments to eliminate these distinctions everywhere in society, including schools, families and churches....

"Nations that ratify CEDAW must submit reports to a CEDAW committee of 'experts,' an unelected panel that is charged with interpreting the document. The CEDAW committee is one of the most ideologically driven committees at the UN, and it often 'finds' new rights not explicitly mentioned in the document. It has called upon many nations to legalize abortion...[and] prostitution, to reeducate boys, to decrease the influence of religion....

"If CEDAW becomes US law, US delegates will have to go before this committee, and seek its approval, even though the committee includes representatives from some of the most repressive regimes in the world, such as China." See Mine is the Power

America bows to summit demand on sanitation for the world's poor: "Delegates began to hail the summit as a victory for the EU in forcing America, whose president refused to come, to accept targets it had opposed all along, on fisheries reform, wildlife conservation and chemicals as well as sanitation. Last night delegates reached agreement on the final major stumbling block: provision of energy from renewable sources to the developing world."

These UN programs are designed to sound kind and good -- and to persuade the world to approve a global welfare system ruled by UN managers who despise American freedom. Psalm 118

Global Action Plan Mission and History: "Founded in 1989, Global Action Plan for the Earth (GAP) is a nonprofit organization that promotes and supports the development of sustainable lifestyles and livable neighborhoods in communities around the United States through service contracts with local, state and federal government agencies. The U.S. program is part of a larger international effort...

"GAP’s Sustainable Lifestyle Campaign... has also received citations and awards from the President's Council on Sustainable Development, U.S. Department of Energy, Oregon Department of Energy, utility companies, and a number of state environment and energy offices. ....

"Over the past twelve years Global Action Plan has developed a highly effective set of tools for behavior change and neighborhood-based community organizing. These empowerment tools have produced measurable results defined as behavior change and neighbor-to-neighbor recruitment." This is civil society at work behind the scenes, forming partnerships, transforming communities and implementing the UN agenda -- while doing an end-run around our representative government. See Brainwashing in America and How to Resist It

Mind Control. Socialazzi and the Three E's: "Westerners erroneously adhere to the belief that socialism is leftist and fascism is rightist, dialectical opposites measured along a straight political plane of extremes. In reality both lead away from freedom towards dictatorships, which are remarkably similar." Romans 8:37

The Earth Charter Community: "The Earth Charter Community Summits are an important way for us to learn that we are not alone in wanting to live in a world that reflects the values and principles of the Earth Charter.

"...one in four value the same things the Earth Charter is about--relationships, sustainability, the oneness of life. However, people who share these values often work for the greater good on their own or with a few friends. It's time to connect and become a catalyst for positive change.

"Some ways the Earth Charter is being used include: International Baccalaureate Organization (1200 schools around the world) ...US Conference of Mayors in June 2001 adopted the Earth Charter...." The Earth Charter's Unholy Ark

Attacking America's Heritage: "The newest threat to property rights, the foundation of American liberty, is posed by H.R. 2388, "The National Heritage Areas Policy Act." ... Once land is designated, it is subject to the whims and dictates of the National Park Service....

"Once a locality receives a 'Heritage Area' designation, its zoning laws become subject to the control of the federal government and that control, more often than not, shuns property rights in favor of radical environmentalism." See World Heritage "Protection" - UNESCO's War Against National Sovereignty

August

Sustainable development - Erosion of freedom: "The overall purpose of the Johannesburg conference is to bring about full, global implementation of Agenda 21. Achievement of this goal requires universal acceptance of a world-view that is relentlessly promoted by the United Nations, and its advocates. In a nutshell, that world-view claims that the earth's biodiversity is being destroyed by human development, that the world's population has already exceeded the earth's carrying capacity, and that the only hope for future generations is for governments to control the activities of humans in order to protect the environment and ensure economic and social equity.

"The fact that these assumptions are fatally flawed, and are refuted by a preponderance of scientific evidence, is ignored by the propaganda mills that churn out slick, highly-polished 'reports' and press releases...." See Local Agenda 21 and Science

Chirac to back "globalisation tax" talks: "French President Jacques Chirac will urge world leaders to launch talks on a new international tax to fight world poverty, sources with him at the Earth Summit in Johannesburg say." When the UN can tax the world, there will be little obstacles to its oppressive reign. Psalm 2

Why Should We Care About the Earth Charter? "It is significant that Steven Rockefeller is the lead crusader for the Earth Charter since his family donated the land on the East River in New York City to establish the United Nations' (U.N.) global headquarters. It is also noteworthy that the Earth Charter evolves around 'sustainable development,' a phrase that is nearly impossible to grasp, but is essentially a new way to advocate Marxism...." See The Earth Charter's Unholy Ark

'Smart-Growth' Plan Riles Black Farmers: "Like many property-rights advocates throughout the nation, South Carolina landowner Joe Neal has some choice words for his county's new 'smart-growth' plan that may put his farmland off-limits to development in the name of helping the environment and fighting suburban sprawl. 'It's robbery!' the hearty 51-year-old native South Carolinian exclaims." See the first third of Food Summit Speeds U.N Agenda and the next link:

Map of Simulated Reserves and Corridors: "This map is based on the strategy and procedures laid out in what is known as the Wildlands Project and the UN/US Man and the Biosphere Program (MAB). Both are based on the need of protecting biological diversity using core wilderness reserves and inteconnecting wilderness corridors which are surrounded by buffer zones that variably regulate human activity to protect the attributes of the core reserves. Areas not included in core reserves or buffer zones are zones of cooperation where regulations are designed to favor biodiversity and ecosystems." Where does your home fit on this map? See Habitat II - The UN Conference on Human Settlements. And remember Ps 46:10

El Niño, global warming not to blame in disasters: "Bad science makes a return -- once again, everyone's favorite scapegoat is El Niño, with global warming coming in a close second. Even though it is barely in its infancy in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, the new El Niño phenomenon is already being blamed by some for everything from the current U.S. drought to some giant squid that washed up near Los Angeles." See Science

Lobsters, caviar and brandy for [Earth Summit delegates] at summit on starvation: "They are gorging on mountains of lobster, oysters and fillet steak at the Johannesburg conference — aimed at ending FAMINE. As the summit began yesterday, desperate kids in nearby shanty towns queued for water at standpipes.

"...in another ironic twist, hundreds of trees have been felled around the conference centre so fleets of limousines will have unhindered access.

"Tory MP Sir Teddy Taylor... said: “The whole thing makes me feel sick. When you think about the starving people in the world and then see this sort of lavish display it just isn’t right." He echoes our impression after Gorbachev's first State of the World Forum. See the comment by Shirley McLane at the end of "Gorbachev's Plan For A United World." Notice what Mbeki, who succeeded Mandela, believes, then read the next article:

Johannesburg Summit Opens With Calls for Credible Action: "South Africa President Thabo Mbeki opened the World Summit on Sustainable Development today with a call for governments to agree on a set of practical measures that will help humanity improve the lives of people everywhere." To understand those plans, read Local Agenda 21 - The U.N. Plan for Your Community

2004 Parliament of the World's Religions:  "The Forum, grounded in a commitment to constructive dialogue between cultures, will focus on three core themes essential to human progress and development: the conditions for peace, sustainable development, and ways to protect and promote respect for cultural diversity.....

"' We are excited to work with people experienced in planning an Olympic event. Their expertise and skills will make planning this Parliament a joy,' said Helen Spector. 'In addition, by working with other guiding institutions such as those involved in the Universal Forum of Cultures, we hope to provide greater access for the world's religious and spiritual communities to share their wisdom, inspiration, and dedication with others working for peace, justice, and sustainability.'" The new meanings of those words are designed to rule out Biblical Christianity. See The Olympic Dream: A Renaissance of Unholy Oneness

United Religions: (This UR conference ended Sunday as many participants left for the UN Earth Summit in Johannesburg which started today) Rio de Janeiro will become the spiritual capital of the world with URI's Global Assembly (United Religions Initiative). "Sharing the Sacred and Serving the World" is the main topic ... Dialog based and inter-religious cooperation activities will be developed to promote the integration of actions for quality of life improvement and world peace. Each participant shall be working side by side with representatives of several spiritual and cultural expressions in workshops, training sessions and meditations. ...URI's Global Assembly will be integrated to the population of Rio de Janeiro through the Sacred Village, an authentic spiritual and cultural mosaic totally accessible to the public." Revelation 13

UN - A case for pragmatism: "Ten years ago the Rio Earth Summit made sustainable development a household term. It was also the basis for a new optimism about environmental issues would be tackled. Now, on the eve of the world summit on sustainable development in Johannesburg (26th Aug-24th Sept), the mood is very different. ....

"And just what are the real issues? They go beyond the five areas named by United Nations secretary general, Kofi Anan, water, energy, health, agriculture and biodiversity. ... [S]erious policy makers will have in mind that they have to make good on the promises made at the Rio Summit to help eradicate poverty and maintain sustainable development." To understand what that the last two items mean, see United Nations' Millennium Goal and Local Agenda 21

Making colonies out of nation-states: "Third World immigration, hitherto an unmentionable subject, is quadrupling the rate of Britain's population growth and creating a new city of immigrants the size of Cambridge every six months. Immigration, the Times says, is transforming Britain into 'a foreign land' ... 'exacerbating the housing crisis and congestion,' and burdening the health service to the breaking point....

"Polls show that without question 'the large majority of British people — including around half of ethnic minorities — think there is too much immigration.' But public opinion is powerless: 'No mainstream political party dare reflect public opinion.' British politicians cower before the immigration lobby and fear being called racist, Nazi, xenophobic. ....Americans are losing their country, too...." Philippians 3:11

INS Overload Frees Up Illegal Immigrants: "Authorities say the Immigration and Naturalization Service just doesn't have the manpower to deal with the large number of illegals. The news has one Oklahoma congressman fed up. 'Because we're at war right now and it starts at our borders. We have to know who's coming into this country,' Republican Rep. John Sullivan told Fox News."

Dealing with the high costs of health care: "From Florida to California, illegal aliens show up at hospital emergency rooms. Their medical costs are passed along to paying patients and to local taxpayers. The American Hospital Association estimates that the costs of bad debt and charity care run into the billions of dollars.... Some aliens look upon an automobile accident as their entry ticket into the United States. They get treated at an American hospital and then may be released into no one's custody. No one has any figures on these numbers.

"...some members of Congress are trying to hit the taxpayers with even more costs for illegal aliens. They are trying to make illegal aliens eligible for in-state tuition rates at publicly funded colleges and universities." As a Christians, we care about the poor and the injured and want to show God's love. But when massive welfare systems meet all social needs, there is little felt need or appreciation for God, the only One who can truly satisfy human needs. Matt 28:18

Union County to sponsor anti-U.N. ballot: "Some residents of Union County are trying to get a measure on the local ballot that would ban the United Nations from the county." It's not that easy to oust all the UN tentacles that are now intertwined with local governance. See Local Agenda 21 and The UN Plan for Your Mental Health

UN 'ignored' abuse at Kosovo mental homes: "Patients at United Nations mental institutions in Kosovo have been raped and physically attacked under the eyes of UN staff, held in 'filthy and degrading' conditions, and threatened with punishment if they report the abuses.... In one case, a woman patient was raped after UN employees locked her in a room with a male patient because they wanted to 'calm her down'... 'If you say anything bad about the staff, God will kill you,' a nurse was reported as telling a patient." The UN Plan for Your Mental Health

Smart Growth Network's Partners: "The Smart Growth Network's (SGN) partners work collaboratively on outreach programs, technical assistance, research, publications, and other collaborative projects. Our current partners span a wide range of organizations and projects, as listed below." Could this all be connected in the vast global networks of unconstitutional control? See The U.N. Plan for Your Community

The green plan for global domination: "To Randall Hayes, the man who presented his paper at the 2002 Johns Hopkins Symposium on Foreign Affairs, Capitalism 'is an absurd economic system rapidly destroying nature, cultural diversity, and decent local life.' Admitting that there were no 'attractive alternatives' to Capitalism, he offered proposal that it 'be radically improved, humanized, and ecologized.' The key word here is 'radically.' Humanity is not high on the list of priorities for the Greens who thrive on programs that kill large numbers of people deprived of pesticides to protect them against Nature's greatest vectors of disease, insect and rodent pests." Local Agenda 21

Senate committee to give up sovereignty: "The CEDAW treaty, if ratified, would be equal in power to the Constitution of the United States. The treaty subjects countries that ratify it to the will of a UN Committee. The committee would determine what laws and cultural standards are allowed for women in the United States....

"Some of the countries that sit on the UN committee to which the US would be subject are: China... Cuba... Turkey and Indonesia — both identified as among the worst countries for sexually trafficked women and young girls." See Mine is the Power

A diploma: new ticket for immigrants? "DREAM would give illegal-immigrant minors who graduate from high school permanent resident status if they're at least 12 at the time the bill passes, have been in the US at least five years, and apply before they are 21. It would make it easier for states to allow these immigrants to pay in-state tuition – permitted now only in California, New York, Texas, and Utah. Mr. Ray sees the bill as yet another reward for illegal immigration...."

Arrogant' Uncle Sam needs to polish his image: "The United States is doing a poor job of countering growing anti-American sentiment overseas and should revamp the way it promotes its foreign policies abroad, the Council on Foreign Relations [CFR] says. In a report to be published this week, the council said many countries, particularly Islamic ones, saw the US as 'arrogant, self-indulgent, hypocritical and unwilling or unable to engage in cross-cultural dialogue'. Such a rising tide of resentment could undermine the Bush Administration's efforts to fight terrorism and become an obstacle if the US decided to invade Iraq, the report says. 'Peter Peterson, a banker and chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations, said: 'If we're going to fight [the war on terrorism] effectively we'll need the co-operation of a lot of countries.'...

"The report recommends a sweeping overhaul of broadcast programs intended to promote cross-cultural understanding and to sell US policies abroad. Support is growing in Congress for overhauling the programs. The House of Representatives has already approved a bill."

At the 1996 UN Conference on Human Settlements, Castro received a standing ovation for his angry diatribe against the US. See The U.N. Plan For Global Control

The Destructive Romance of the Intellectuals: "The British novelist Martin Amis has written a new book, Koba, The Dread about Soviet Communism and the utopian delusion. It is about the romance of western intellectuals with a fantasy whose real world incarnation has already killed at least 20 million citizens of the Soviet Union and probably 100 million all over the world. The crime committed by these victims of the progressive dream was their refusal to go along with the claims of 'social justice' and the requirements of instituting a socialist state." 2 Tim 4:3-4 and Gen 8:21

July

Clinton Ignored Iraqi Links to Oklahoma City: "On the day of the bombing, a highly regarded intelligence source in Saudi Arabia told Vincent Cannistraro, then the chief of counterterrorism at the CIA, that an Iraqi terrorism team was assessing targets to attack in Oklahoma City, Los Angeles and Houston. The Saudi informant, a member of the Saudi Counterterrorism Service, stated that he had seen the target list and that first on the list was the Murrah Building....

"As the dust settled in Oklahoma City, we heard none of this history from Bill Clinton. Instead, he pointed to 'hate-talk radio' as the culprit, the 'purveyors of hate and division' who 'leave the impression, by their very words, that violence is acceptable.' The enemy, in short, was Rush Limbaugh, not Ramzi Youssef. ...  Instead of telling the truth and uniting Americans on 'common ground' against a foreign enemy, he chose to divide the country in order to remain in office for four more years.

"We, as American citizens, had a right to know that the Iraqi regime was directly implicated in the bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City,' writes columnist Carol Devine-Molin. 'With that pivotal knowledge, the American people could have geared up for the 'war on terrorism' much sooner, and possibly even averted the 9/11 disaster." There is far more to this cover-up. But the official reports served to accelerate the shift from freedom to near martial law -- a set of unconstitutional edicts directed at US citizens rather than foreign terrorists. Muslim militants were allowed to continue their operations in the US - and set the stage for future crises. See The Enemy of the People

Foundations are in place for martial law in the US: "Recent pronouncements from the Bush Administration and national security initiatives put in place in the Reagan era could see internment camps and martial law in the United States....

"FEMA, whose main role is disaster response, is also responsible for handling US domestic unrest.... 'I believe that the role assigned to the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the revised Executive Order exceeds its proper function as a co-ordinating agency for emergency preparedness ... this department and others have repeatedly raised serious policy and legal objections to an 'emergency czar' role for FEMA,'" wrote former attorney-general, William French Smith.  2 Chron 20:6-12.

Something Terribly Wrong in the U.N. (by Col. Stanislav Lunev, 7/19): "Recent reports about the U.N.'s current activity... are raising many questions about the real nature and policies of this organization. According to press reports, a U.N-financed sex education manual for teens that promotes abortion, homosexuality and even sex with animals has not been withdrawn in Latin American nations as UNICEF insists it has......

"More than 180 countries met for the conference, with hopes of adopting a document titled 'A World Fit for Children,' which purports to establish worldwide standards for promoting kids' health, education, and protection from abuse and HIV and AIDS. But as is so often the case, 'the children' are merely a prop to disguise the conference's real agenda, which has more to do with legitimizing abortion, homosexual rights and bestiality than it has with protecting kids...."See The U.N. Plan For Global Control: The Habitat II Agenda

UN stages 'rescue mission' to heal rift over Earth Summit: "The prospects for embarrassing failure at next month's Earth Summit in Johannesburg will dominate a preparatory meeting at the United Nations next week.... Billed as the World Summit for Sustainable Development, the meeting is meant to be the largest United Nations gathering in history. It was designed to give new momentum to a process that began with the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit in 1992....

"Already, the summit is shaping up as yet another showdown between the United States and the rest of the world. While European nations support clear targets to contain the impact of development on the environment, notably global warming, the US is resisting them.... James Connaughton, chairman of the White House council on environmental quality, said: 'The Kyoto Protocol would have cost our economy up to $400bn [£257bn] and caused the loss of up to 4.9 million jobs.'"  See Local Agenda 21- The U.N. Plan for Your Community

U.S. poised to yank funding from UN Population Fund over abortion claims: "The United States is poised to announce that it will withdraw millions of dollars in funding for the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) over charges it is promoting abortion and forced sterilization of women in China, U.S. officials said Sunday."  See Mine is the Power

Sesame Street to introduce HIV-positive Muppet: "Sesame Street will soon introduce its first HIV-positive Muppet character to children of South Africa, where one in nine people have the virus that can lead to AIDS. The upbeat female Muppet will join 'Takalani Sesame' on September 30 for its third season on the South African Broadcasting Corporation....

"'This character will be fully a part of the community,' Schneider said. 'She will have high self-esteem. Women are often stigmatised about HIV and we are providing a good role model as to how to deal with one's situation and how to interact with the community.' The program is aimed at children from 3 to 7 and the messages delivered by the new character will be 'appropriate,' said Schneider, meaning that there will be no explicit mention of sex." The UN Plan for Your Mental Health

AIDS Shortening Life in 51 Nations: "AIDS is eroding decades of increasing child survival....  In Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Namibia, more infants will die from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in 2010 than from all other causes."

Aids 'could turn states into criminal havens': "The relentless rate of HIV infection is in danger of reducing the countries worst afflicted by Aids to war-torn havens for terrorists and criminals, the International Aids Conference in Barcelona was told. American and United Nations officials said the disease's progress was threatening the existence of nation states in parts of sub-Saharan Africa.

"Tommy Thompson, the US health secretary, said America had earmarked more than $16 billion (£10 billion) a year to fight Aids." See next item:

repeat Child-rape epidemic in South Africa: "A bizarre belief among many African black men that sex with a virgin -- even a child or baby -- can cure HIV/AIDS is fueling what is already one of the highest child sexual exploitation rates in the world. ...For the year 2000, some 58 children were raped or the victims of rape attempts in South Africa every single day. The trend is worsening. Babies as young as only a few months old are being raped almost daily." Rom1:22-32

Proposal seeks to internationalize Jerusalem's Old City: "Israeli, US, and German delegates spent yesterday fighting a surprise proposal to internationalize Jerusalem's Old City presented by an Italian politician at the five-day meeting in Berlin of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, composed of parliamentarians from 55 countries." Daniel 9:1-13

The dangers of the International Criminal Court: "During the war in Kosovo, hundreds of thousands of ethnic Albanians were forced to flee as Serbian forces robbed, raped and murdered on a mass scale. The ethnic cleansing of the province ended only after NATO forces conducted an 11-week aerial bombing campaign against Yugoslavia. So it was not a surprise that afterward, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia spent 11 months assessing evidence of alleged genocide and other war crimes. The surprise is that the alleged war crimes were committed by the United States. In the end, of course, it was Slobodan Milosevic, not Bill Clinton, who was extradited to The Hague to face charges of war crimes. .... But it's worth keeping that episode in mind in evaluating President Bush's decision to withdraw U.S. support for the new International Criminal Court." See International Courts Mock Sovereignty

Africa takes cue from EU: "More than 50 African heads of state gathered in this coastal city Monday to mark the end of an era – and perhaps a new beginning. The 39-year-old Organization for African Unity (OAU) – formed to support states emerging from colonialism – was dissolved. Tuesday, it will be replaced by the African Union (AU), a more powerful organization with a new vision for addressing the problems of this troubled continent....

"The AU, loosely modeled after the European Union, will create a pan-African parliament, a central bank, a court of justice, an African peacekeeping force, and eventually, a common currency. The most controversial, and perhaps most critical, element of the new union, say analysts, is its authority to intervene in the affairs of member states."

It sounds like the OAS (Organization of American States) as well as the EU, doesn't it? Actually, it's just one more "region" following the blueprint for global management. For another look at how region of "the Americas" functions, see International Courts Mock Sovereignty and New "Literacy" for a New World

What about 'one nation'? Last week, members of Congress leapt to the defense of the words 'under God.' They shouted the phrase on Capitol Hill and in front of every available camera. But what about the two little words in the Pledge of Allegiance that come right before 'under God'? Who in Washington will rise in defense of 'one nation'? ...

"Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., has offered S. 2449, the 'Federal Responsibility for Immigrant Health Act of 2002,' which... would siphon federal Medicaid dollars away from citizens to pay for the medical bills of illegal aliens demanding dialysis, chemotherapy, pregnancy-related services, and testing and treatment for communicable diseases. Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz, and Jon Corzine and Bob Torricelli, both D-N.J., are co-sponsors.

"Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, has proposed S. 1291, the obnoxiously titled "DREAM" Act, which allows illegal aliens to cut in front of millions of other would-be immigrants who are following the rules in pursuit of the American dream. The bill, co-sponsored by Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-WA, allows all 50 states to subsidize tuition for illegal aliens at public universities, rescinds deportation orders for certain illegal alien students and lets them jump the line for legal residency....

"After the flag-waving and fireworks are over, it's back to business in Congress: Pandering to the illegal alien lobby for ethnic votes while paying lip-service to patriotism. Just another reminder that the only true allegiance a politician has is to his own re-election." This is affirmative action aimed at global equality and solidarity -- a redistribution of personal and national resources financed by American tax-payers. But the good part for Christians is that the mission field is now all around us, bringing opportunities for all to demonstrate God's love among the needy. Matt 28:18

U.S. blamed for Africa's drought: "Quoting a 'recent study,' Britain's The Independent published a story on June 13, which claims that 'smoke stacks of America have brought the world's worst drought to Africa.'"

"After Hurricane Mitch dumped torrential rains on Central America in 1998, that destroyed thousands of homes when entire mountain sides slid into the valleys, Argentine delegate to the U.N. Climate Change meetings in Buenos Aires, Ms. Maria Julia Alsogaray, told the assembled thousands that the rains were caused by American pollution....

"The solution is no more preposterous than the claims. Paul Watson, co-founder of Greenpeace, was correct when he told Forbes magazine "It doesn't matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true." Greenpeace has built an industry around creating a fictitious problem, and soliciting money to solve it. The United Nations is following the Greenpeace model by creating and perpetuating the myth of global warming, and soliciting billions of dollars to fight it....Sadly, your tax dollars are being used to spread fear and myths through our schools." Israel firm in its rejection of International Criminal Court: "Israel reaffirmed its refusal to take part in the International Criminal Court (ICC).... 'We have fears ... that this court could act out of political motivations even anti-Semitic ones,' Rubinstein said. 'We do not know who will be the judges, the prosecutors, the manner in which this court will function. But it has listed in its statutes all population transfers in an occupied territory as a war crime.'" International Courts Mock Sovereignty

Global Management System. European leaders hail birth of war crimes court (or rather "human rights" court): "July 1 is being hailed by European leaders as the most important date in recent human rights history - the first day on which war crimes will become subject to the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. However, for many US leaders - in the White House and on Capitol Hill - today marks the beginning of a dangerous time for US politicians and soldiers, who Washington fears could become ensnared in witch-hunts launched by the court's prosecutor."  Trading U.S. Rights for UN Rules

Europeans resist US call for UN immunity: "Leaked documents show that America is seeking wide-ranging immunity for its troops on United Nations missions, especially in the former Yugoslavia, from prosecution before the new International Criminal Court." International Courts Mock Sovereignty

UN expert stresses need for impartial judges on International Criminal Court : "The great hope for international justice that the ICC represents rests with its integrity and its ability to provide fair, independent and impartial justice to people all over the world, irrespective of power, influence or authority," said Dato Param Cumaraswamy, the Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers, in a statement released in Geneva. "Its ability to achieve these lofty aims rests, to a substantial degree, with it remaining free of politics."

But the chosen justices are more likely to share the beliefs of the two judges that banned the Pledge of Allegiance. In contrast, our Christian values would be considered biased or extremist. They would clash with the new global-socialist "norm."

Christians seek place in EU preamble: "Is Europe a Christian continent? "Unquestionably, the region is steeped in Christianity from the faith's earliest days. The Apostle Paul brought the religion to Europe's shores around the year 50. Later, the continent became the center of Roman Catholicism and the birthplace of the Protestant Reformation. But today's Europe is a multi-ethnic melting pot of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and other faiths....

"The pope said... 'The Christian patrimony of civilization, which has contributed so greatly to the defense of the values of democracy, freedom and solidarity among the peoples of Europe, must neither vanish nor be disregarded.'....

"Europe's Christian heritage is a historical fact, and it's an important one," Jenkins said. "Peace, justice, reconciliation, solidarity, sustainability: These are values that are shared by many Europeans - values that are found at the heart of the Christian gospel."

The first three words have been redefined to fit today's global values. The last two words -- solidarity and sustainability -- are new words that point to UN and EU standards for managing people and habitats in the new world order. They have nothing to do with the gospel. Three Sets of Meanings of Educational Buzzwords

Britain boycotts 'flawed' world summit on hunger: "The Secretary of State for Overseas Development, Clare Short, is boycotting the United Nations World Food Summit, which opened in Rome yesterday, saying it is flawed.

"...the leaders of dozens of developing countries are leading delegations. The most controversial is the President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, whose attendance provoked consternation from many. Mr Mugabe is widely accused of being responsible for the plight of 5 million Zimbabweans who are enduring food shortages because of his government's policy of seizing commercial farms and restriction on movements of food aid. The aid is allegedly being kept from opposition strongholds. ....

"At the first World Food Summit in 1996 leaders from 185 nations vowed to cut by half the number of hungry in the world – then at 841 million. The number now stands at 815 million. ....Among measures proposed to alleviate the situation were vegetarianism, cancelling debt and educating women. A declaration adopted at the outset of the meeting stated that everyone had 'the right ... to safe and nutritious food' but the United States continued to oppose the clause, fearing it would leave America open to future legal claims by famine-stricken countries."

There's a lot more to this summit than we are told. It also includes demand for government control of land so that the UN can use the universal need for food to force all nations to conform its food production and distribution to UN management. See Food Summit Speeds UN Agenda

EU Cracks Down on Immigrants, Shies Off Sanctions: "European Union leaders endorsed a crackdown on illegal immigrants on Friday, but defeated attempts to bring in sanctions against countries which fail to stop their citizens slipping into the 15-nation bloc."

Sustaining nothing, losing everything: "What is Sustainable Development? Imagine an America in which a single, specific ruling principle is created to decide proper societal conduct for every citizen. That principle would be used to consider everything you eat, what you wear, the kind of home in which you live, the way you get to work, the way you dispose of waste, the number of children you may have, even your education and employment decisions ...

"According to Sustainable Development policies, air conditioning, convenience foods, single-family housing and cars are among the products that have already been determined to be unsustainable. Under such a system, the federal government, backed by an army of private, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), like the Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood, and the National Education Association will influence, if not dictate, policy in state governments and in local communities. Sustainable Development is nothing but pure Socialism in a Green cloak." Local Agenda 21: The U.N. Plan for Your Community

EU seeks closer ties with Iran: "European Union foreign ministers have agreed to open trade and political talks with Iran, a country still branded by the US as part of a global 'axis of evil'. ...But Israel expressed dismay at the agreement and the US has also lobbied against European rapprochement with Tehran, sceptical of Iran's ability to deliver on its promises." Prov 16:4

World Bank selects first 23 countries for universal education program: "But World Bank President James Wolfensohn said the effort will fail unless the United States and other wealthy countries come up with the $3 billion to $4 billion annually that the program needs to meet its goals. Wolfensohn said he would make a personal appeal Friday and Saturday in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where finance ministers from the world's wealthiest countries and Russia will be holding meetings to prepare the agenda for the Group of Eight leaders' summit later this month." To understand the socialization process behind this global education program, read New "Literacy" for a New World and A New Way of Thinking.

Down with motherhood? "They're at it again, those coercive utopians, trying to re-master humanity in their own image, this time via the radical dictates of the United Nations' Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, CEDAW for short.

"This sovereignty-eroding treaty first took shape some 23 years ago, and now, with 169 signatories not including the United States, serves as a platform from which Brave New Worlders take aim at nations for failing to impose 'full equality between men and women.' The U.N. sees such "equality" — luckily, still largely theoretical — as a state of being that extends way beyond the legal realm to the cultural, religious and familial spheres. No relationship or practice is too private for the dictates of CEDAW, and no religion or tradition is beyond its purview."  It matches the Beijing Declaration, signed by the US delegation in 1995. For a glimpse of its implications, read Mine is the Power.

Culture. Women too tired to be domestic goddesses: "According to a new survey, nine out of 10 working women are worn out and stressed by the relentless pressures of work and home. Given the option, only a fifth would choose to be a 'career woman'."

The Chamber of Commerce - It's Power and Goals: "...when the United Nations was set up, the Economic and Social Council opened the way for the Chamber to have direct and continuous influence upon international affairs, even though it was a non-governmental organization....

"Chamber coalition leaders know that those who set the goals for others control the behavior of others. Those who participate in the United Nations must support UN goals.   [See The UN Plan for Your Mental Health] Participants must dedicate themselves, their efforts, their personalities, and their resources to the United Nations. They must give up their individuality.... From the United Nations point of view, individuals and groups exist for the sake of the United Nations. It is an organization of organizations, dealing only with groups....

"The Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber coalition have supported much legislation which has not only been extremely costly, but which has served to transfer power, responsibility and resources from independent nations, local communities, local businesses, and private professions to the universal system coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce coalition." Debate over anthem surprises principal: "Poudre High School's decision to play the World anthem for its graduation ceremony sparked an angry reaction from a parent.... Gail Wagner, whose daughter graduated May 24, wrote a letter to the school principal, the district superintendent and the Denver Rocky Mountain News calling the anthem 'an insipid little song about a world of peace and love' and an insult to America. She said it took the place of the national anthem.

"It did not, said Poudre High Principal Sandra Lundt. 'This was never meant to take the place of the national anthem,' Lundt said. 'It's an anthem that really celebrates every nation. ....

"The world anthem was conceived in 1996 and completed by 2000. The idea behind the piece, according to the Web site www.worldanthem.org, is this: 'We believe there is a wonderful way to bring a message of hope, healing, peace and unification to all people through the universal language of music ... to give the world a gift, to bring about a symbol for peace and a common spirit of trust toward the idea of one people, one world.'" New Beliefs for a Global Village

Global lying (Thomas Sowell): "The campaign to stampede the federal government into drastic action to counter 'global warming' has never let honesty cramp its style. The most recent ploy has been the release of a study from the Environmental Protection Agency which concluded that human actions were responsible for rising temperatures and that government restrictions on those actions were necessary to prevent various disastrous scenarios from unfolding. The problem is that all this hysteria was based on a computer model which had been shown to be incompatible with factual data. ....

"The same kind of ploy was used by a United Nations report on climate in 1996. After the scientists had reviewed the report, the following sentence was added, without their knowledge -- 'the balance of evidence suggests a discernible human influence on global climate.' But that is not what the scientists said. ...Professor Michaels estimates that most of the global warming over the past century has been due to the sun's getting hotter. If we do everything the Kyoto treaty calls for, it would not lower the average temperature in the world by half a degree over the next 50 years. But it could wreck some economies." For background information about that 1996 climate report, read  The U.N. Plan For Global Control: The Habitat II Agenda

Health Powers Act: "The Model Act is a blueprint for states to use in passing state legislation that would give State Health officials the power to quarantine and vaccinate entire populations, even if it is against an individual's will. The state would also have the power to control or even restrict food, fuel, alcoholic beverages, firearms, and other commodities.

The Model Bill goes on to explain that citizens will be required to submit to medical examinations, vaccinations and quarantines against their will if a public health emergency is declared.

"...according to the author of the bill, a 'public health emergency' is defined as: an occurrence or imminent threat of an illness or health condition, caused by bio-terrorism, epidemic or pandemic disease, or novel and highly fatal infectious agent or biological toxin, that poses a substantial risk of a significant number of human fatalities or incidents of permanent or long-term disability. Such illness or health conditions include, but are not limited to, an illness or health condition resulting from a national disaster. According to the above definition how many of our state governors would know what a public 'health emergency really is?'" See UN Plan for Food and Land

Data Handbook for Elementary, Secondary, and Early childhood Education: "These systems provide teachers and others concerned with effective program design with day-to-day access to information about the students' background, learning experiences, and performance. They also provide the flexibility necessary to supply aggregate data to school boards, state and federal governments, and other interested parties and to conduct program evaluations. To be effective, however, these systems must record data accurately and comparably for all students, in all places, and at all times. ...

"The terms, definitions, and procedures represent a consensus of what is considered "best practice" in data collection; they should be interpreted and applied according to local, state, and federal reporting requirements and restrictions for confidentiality and security."

Unavailable to parents and children, the personal files (like the old "dangen" files in Communist China) are accessible to our government. Nothing will be hidden and no one can hide from intrusive eyes. And global church networks are following the same pattern with their data tracking systems. See Harvest Information Systems -1 & 2

Syria Takes Over U.N. Security Council Presidency: "Syria, which has been using its spot on the Security Council to keep a spotlight on Israeli attacks on Palestinians, assumes the council's rotating presidency on Saturday for the first time since 1970. ...The council's permanent members, endowed with veto power, are the United States, China, Britain, France and Russia." Isaiah 43:2-3

Suspects get a cut of U.N. law fees: "Lawyers paid by the United Nations to defend Yugoslav war-crimes suspects often face demands that they kick back a portion of their fees to the clients they are hired to represent. As a result, the tribunal at The Hague has become a lucrative source of cash, not only for lawyers hired to defend soldiers and politicians accused of crimes against humanity, but also for the defendants and their families back home." This is only a small part of the corrupt UN system that intends to rule the world. John 16:33

Trap door to Kyoto: "If passed intact, HR 4, the 'Energy Policy Act of 2002,' will begin the stealth enactment of the infamous Kyoto Protocol on global warming, wisely canned by President Bush a year ago. Of particular concern is Title X, which requires industry to 'voluntarily' report its total emissions of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. 'Require' and 'voluntary' can only coexist in the goofy world of Washington, as the reporting of carbon dioxide becomes mandatory for all industry under this bill if 60 percent of the nation's total emissions aren't 'voluntarily' reported." See The U.N. Plan for Your Community

EU's angry chorus: "President George W. Bush is off to Europe again, visiting Germany, France, Russia and Italy in connection with a NATO summit in Iceland.... Robert Kagan argues: 'It is time to stop pretending that Europeans and Americans share a common view of the world, or even that they occupy the same world. On the all-important question of power — the efficacy of power, the morality of power, the desirability of power — American and European perspectives are diverging.'

"...the best way to get applause in the European Parliament is to stand up and denounce America.... At the dawn of 21st century, the greatest danger to American independence, security and prosperity may not come from avowed enemies armed with weapons of mass destruction, but from supposed friends...." Lam 1:2

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) Protests: "Bowing to pressure from animal rights activists, the National Collegiate Athletic Association says it will phase out the use of leather balls in its tournaments because they are cruel to cows.... The NCAA will instead start using balls made of synthetic materials....

"'We're always looking for new ways to prevent animal cruelty,' said Dan Shannon, coordinator of PETA's Sports Campaign and one of the people pushing for the change. 'We know now not to use fur anymore. We've moved on to leather. Wearing leather isn't a lot different than wearing fur.'" See Saving the Earth

Israeli family sues EU for Palestinian attack: "An Israeli family filed a 100 million shekel (dlrs 20.7 million) lawsuit against the European Union on Monday, alleging that EU grants to the Palestinian Authority indirectly benefited gunmen who carried out a deadly shooting attack on the Blumberg family in August." Matt 24:12

University students told not to fly the flag: "The [British] University of Warwick has asked for the flags of St George and other countries not to be displayed at windows before or after the tournament. Officials say with a number of nationalities represented in halls of residence, routine flying of flags may cause tension between students. One student, Ben Berger, said: 'This is the university breaching my human right to fly the national flag of my country. The university have treated us with contempt. They originally told us we weren't allowed flags at all because flags might create an opportunity for violence.'" See John 16:33

U.N. child summit produces victory, pro-family groups say: "The United Nations' recent summit on children resulted in a victory for families, pro-life and pro-family organizations said. The final document adopted at the U.N. Special Session on Children excluded language that would have affirmed abortion for minors. ... There had been strong pressure to include abortion rights for children in the statement, but the United States, the Vatican and some Muslim countries resisted.... The United States and its allies turned back an attempt to incorporate the phrase 'reproductive health services' in the final document. A member of the Canadian delegation had admitted the phrase included abortion services." But this single victory doesn't slow the shift from national sovereignty to a world government that opposes all of America's founding values. See Two UN Summits

Global Warming Models Labeled 'Fairy Tale' By Team of Scientists: "A team of international scientists Monday said climate models showing global warming are based on a 'fairy tale' of computer projections. The scientists met on Capitol Hill to expose what they see as a dearth of scientific evidence about global warming. Hartwig Volz, a geophysicist with the RWE Research Lab in Germany questioned the merit of the climate projections coming from the United Nations sponsored Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC.) The IPCC climate projections have fueled worldwide support for the Kyoto Protocol, which aims to restrict the greenhouse gases thought to cause global warming." The new politics of hate: "There is a new totalitarianism afoot in the West. Unlike the Stalinist form, it does not use police-state violence to command conformity. Its method is to redefine Rightist positions as evil, the product of a hate-filled or diseased mind, then read the Right out of the human race. Thus, anyone who argues that immigration has become so huge it threatens national cohesion or security is a 'xenophobe.' Oppose racial quotas, and you are a 'racist.' Defend the all-male military schools like VMI and the Citadel, and you are a 'sexist.' Oppose homosexual marriages, and you are a 'homophobe' ....

"Scholar Paul Gottfried has called it 'the dehumanization of dissent.' First, you strip away an opponent's claim to decency and fair treatment by painting him as a right-wing extremist and hater, then you wash your hands of culpability when some wacko concludes he is doing the world a favor by murdering him -- like they murdered Pim Fortuyn." See Silencing the Opposition

Using the unemployed to introduce the UNESCO mental 'health' agenda: "Psychological assessments are planned for young and old, which will identify who might be ‘at risk’ of not meeting the required mental health standards. Says UNESCO, “Mental health policies should enable all individuals whose mental health is disturbed, or whose psychological balance may be compromised, to obtain services adapted to their needs, and to promote the optimal development of the mental health of the population.” In other words, this is mass social conditioning under the guise of ‘optimising the mental health of populations’. Implementing these grossly totalitarian measures was never going to be easy. UNESCO started out by promoting voluntary programmes with friendly names like Healthy Start, Healthy People, Healthy Communities and Healthy Cities." See The UN Plan for Your Mental Health

Envoys to probe use of U.S. funds for forced abortions: "A White House team will leave for China today to investigate whether U.S. contributions to a U.N. population agency are funding forced abortions. Top Stories At stake is $34 million in U.S. funds, approved by Congress for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) but frozen by President Bush until the team returns." Mine is the Power

Immigrants' families file claim against government agencies: "The families of 11 [illegal] immigrants who died crossing the southern Arizona desert near Yuma have filed a claim against federal agencies asking for $3.75 million dollars for each of the dead, attorneys said Wednesday. A total of 14 people died in May 2001 when smugglers led the immigrants into a bleak section of the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge known as 'The Devil's Path' near the Mexican border. The claim, which is the first step in filing a lawsuit, was sent to the U.S. Department of Interior and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on Tuesday."  Do you suppose the families of these lawbreakers might take their case to the new UN "world court?" If so, they might well win food and protection for all illegal immigrants." International Courts Mock Sovereignty

Goodbye stars, hello stripes: The new symbol of the EU: "Forget the stars, hail the stripes. The European Union's image is set for an overhaul, with the replacement of its gold star flag by a dazzling new bar-code-style logo. The new design, which has been commissioned from the ultra-fashionable Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, will bleed all of the colours of the national flags of EU nations alongside each other."

Annan Lectures Grown-Ups at Opening of U.N. Children's Summit: "Secretary-General Kofi Annan opened the first U.N. children's summit Wednesday with a stinging rebuke to 'the grown-ups' of the world for failing 'deplorably' to uphold the right of every child to grow up free of poverty and war and receive a quality education. Addressing several dozen world leaders and representatives from over 180 countries, Annan said young people in every country have a right to expect that the promises they made 'to build a world fit for children' are kept."

Remember, this envisioned world "fit for children," calls for a socialist, totalitarian world government with power and authority to redistribute people, money, food... everything in order to create social "equity" -- the same low standard for all except the ruthless dictators of this Brave New World.

Tracking the Well-being of Children within States: "Social indicators for tracking the well-being of children and their families are important tools of government. .... As the new federalism has proceeded through the 1990s, states have assumed increasing responsibility for the design and administration of social policy and for the ultimate success or failure of the resulting programs....  [That's the public perception, but the strings attached to federal standards and  funds has turned federalism upside down. See Federalism

"Since 1990, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed several programs designed to monitor the health of children at the state level through regular surveys.... Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBS)... is a survey of health and risk-related behaviors among students in grades 9 through 12. Topics covered correspond to the Healthy People 20005 goals and include tobacco and alcohol use, sexual behavior, behaviors contributing to intentional and unintentional injuries, and diet and physical activity."  The UN Plan for Your Mental Health

UN gambit: 'A little child shall lead them': "With the energy, determination, and innocence that young people bring to a seemingly intractable problem, a small group of teenagers from around the world gathered last week at the UN to launch an international youth movement. But this is not the model UN of generations past where students mimicked their seniors to learn about what they do. Instead, this program is designed for the benefit of the international policymakers themselves, who for the first time in recent history are trying to harness the power of the young to bolster international peace efforts and improve their own decision-making....

"The Office of the Special Representative, in conjunction with the Muhammad Ali Center, Global Kids, and several other international groups, has launched the Schools for Global Peace Program. It provides a high-school curriculum based on stories and role-playing that vividly illustrates the pain and chaos inflicted upon children and their families caught up in armed conflicts. Once a school finishes the course, it will be designated a "Global Peace" school and be linked to others around the world...." No wonder! A corps of children and youth indoctrinated with global idealism is sure to speed the revolution -- just as it did for Soviet and Nazi leaders. See The Nazi Model For Outcome-Based Education and the last part of The State of the World according to Gorbachev

Britain 'afraid' of EU? "Romano Prodi, the European Commission president, will deliver a withering attack on Britain today for being too 'afraid' of the European Union to take a leading role in shaping its future. He will mockingly contrast the country's willingness to be a junior partner of the US with its mistrust of all things European. His comments mark the culmination of months of frustration in Brussels over Tony Blair's close alliance with President George Bush in the war on terrorism." See European Union

Global Management may ban the Bible. "According to Lord Scott, the European Commission's proposals for an offence included 'public dissemination or distribution of tracts, pictures or other material containing expressions of racism or xenophobia'. 'So distribution of, for example, literature containing expressions of belief in race, colour, national origins etc as a factor determining aversion to individuals or groups would be a criminal offence,' Lord Scott argued." See sidebar and Clinton's War on Hate Bans Christian Values.

The Earth Charter and the Ark of the Gaia Covenant (Click on live links for sources and documentation): "The real goal of the Earth Charter is that it will in fact become like the Ten Commandments, like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.' [Maurice Strong]... 'My hope is that this charter will be a kind of Ten Commandments, a 'Sermon on the Mount', that provides a guide for human behavior toward the environment in the next century.' [Mikhail Gorbachev]....

UN tainted by 'solidarity of the abusers' Human Rights Commission: "The UN's leading human rights body yesterday voted to ignore alleged human rights abuses in Iran -- something it also did this month for China, Equatorial Guinea, Russia and Zimbabwe. It did, however, find time to express shock at Israel's alleged atrocities....

'It is the solidarity of the abusers,' said Joanna Weschler of Human Rights Watch. 'Now we have a situation where the countries that are either targets of the commission -- or ones that are likely to be targets because of what they are doing to their people -- have enough votes together to escape censure.' ... Commission members with 'disturbing human rights records' include: Algeria, Burundi, China, Cuba, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Kenya, Libya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Togo and Vietnam. The United States no longer has a seat on the commission after being ejected in a vote last year....

U.S. to help U.N. redefine 'families': "The Bush administration has joined European delegates to an upcoming U.N. summit on children in moving to recognize families 'in various forms,' including unmarried cohabiting couples and homosexual partners.  A coalition of Catholic and Muslim countries has formed to block the change...." [Sounds like the same coalition that fought acceptance of "five genders" at the UN Conference for Women in Beijing. See A Twist of Faith, Chapter 9]

Information Technology, International Cooperation and Global Security: "International cooperation and global security involve a wide range of issues including new forms of global regulation and surveillance; transboundary advocacy and global civil society; economic and political “crisis” and system transformation; unequal access to goods and services; transnational identity politics; conflict and transboundary intervention; changes in security threats, military and warfare practices; legitimacy, power and governance in the global realm. IT issues could involve the Internet and related technologies such as those associated with telecommunications, data processing, encryption, and systems of code; robotics, automation, and simulation; and concerns bearing directly on connectivity and content such as structures of information flow and processes of disinformation and dissemination."
