The Communists Behind Obama’s Health Care Goals: "The primary figure who delivered Obama to the single-payer camp was Quentin Young.... Young joined the Young Communist League as a teenager.... In October 1968 he was called to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee, which was probing the extent of his knowledge about the riots that had erupted at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago two months earlier.... Dr. Young was active in the radical movements of the Sixties and Seventies and led a small delegation to Communist North Vietnam in 1972. In the late 1970s, Young became associated with a Marxist organization known as the New American Movement.... In 1980 Young founded the Health and Medicine Policy Research Group, a single-payer lobby group... In 1982 Young helped establish the Democratic Socialists of America, which, as the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International, asserts  that 'many structures of our government and economy must be radically transformed.'...

"In 1995 Young attended the now-famous meeting at the Hyde Park home of former Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, where Barack Obama was first introduced... as the hand-picked successor to Alice Palmer, a pro-Soviet radical who planned to vacate her Illinois State Senate seat.... Young quickly became a friend and political ally of Obama, teaching the latter about the merits of single-payer healthcare. ...

"Another noteworthy influence on Obama’s views vis à vis healthcare has been Dr. Peter Orris, who co-founded Physicians for a National Health Program with Quentin Young. The son of a Communist Party member, Orris in the 1960s was a leader of Harvard University’s campus chapter of Students for a Democratic Society, the New Leftist organization that aspired to overthrow America’s democratic institutions and remake the nation’s government in a Marxist image....

"The Communist influences on President Obama’s healthcare objectives do not end with the foregoing list of PNHP leaders. In 2004, PNHP collaborated with a number of likeminded, far-left organizations to form ... Healthcare-NOW!, which... enjoys the strong support of the Socialist Party USA.... Obama’s friend and mentor, Quentin Young, is a central figure in Healthcare-NOW!"  See Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals

Final Senate health care vote scheduled: "The Senate has scheduled a vote on final passage of its health care overhaul bill for around 8 a.m. on Thursday, Christmas Eve.... Since the Democrats lined up the 60 votes needed prevail in the Senate, they have been shutting down Republican opposition to their 10-year, nearly $1 trillion bill to expand coverage and try to slow increasing medical costs." See 111 New Bureacracies in Pelosi's Healthcare Bill

Health Care bill: "This process is not legislation. This process is corruption," said Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., referring to the last-minute flurry of dealmaking that enabled Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and the White House to lock in the 60 votes needed to approve the legislation. ....Whatever else it was, the legislation represented the culmination of a year's work for Democrats, pressed by President Barack Obama to remake the nation's health care system."

How the Unions are 'Getting Well' - [Big Bribes for Obamacare Votes]: "Obama is hoping to shower money on these labor leaders for their ongoing corruption... he has removed any accountability whatsoever over their future actions by rescinding Bush-era disclosure requirements on top union officials.... Obama and Congressional leaders know that compulsory union membership – established within the framework of a government-administered health care system – is vital to organized labor’s long-term survival." See Alinsky's Rules for Radicals

Prescribing marijuana to kids: "Debate is raging over the use of medicinal marijuana to treat childhood ADHD and autism.... California clinics have been prescribing pot to patients as young as 14 to treat ADHD symptoms."

GlaxoSmithKline Recalls H1N1 Vaccine in Canada Over 'Life-Threatening' Allergy Risk: "The pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline says it has advised medical staff in Canada to not use one batch of swine flu vaccine for fear it may trigger life-threatening allergies."

Criminalizing Health-Care Freedom: "Obamacare supporters would use the brute force of criminal law for social engineering.... The Congressional Budget Office stated on October 29 that the House bill would generate $167 billion in revenue from 'penalty payments.' ...

"Former member of Congress and Heritage Foundation fellow Ernest Istook has concluded that for this revenue goal to be met, 8 to 14 million individual Americans will have to be fined over the next ten years... For starters, any family of four whose combined income in 2016 is above $102,100 ($88,200 in today’s dollars) and that chooses to pay all its medical expenses out of pocket rather than pay the $15,000 a year that the CBO says will be the lowest-priced insurance option for families. Also any healthy twentysomething in a city with high costs of living who chooses to take the risk of going uninsured.... The fact that the penalties for noncompliance are enforceable by criminal prosecution is a chilling abuse of the prosecutorial power." See Peace in the midst of turmoil

(11-18)  Ukraine reports 12 flu deaths in 24 hours: "According to Ria Novosti, the death toll from the flu epidemic in Ukraine has reached 328, with 12 deaths registered over the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on November 18. Last week, Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) chief, Raisa Bohatyryova, said there were 'constitutional prerequisites' for a state of emergency...  which has left a total of 1,457,564 people infected as of November 18. The number of officially confirmed H1N1 strain swine flu deaths in Ukraine has reached 15, with 166 people infected."

Flu death toll in Ukraine continues to grow rapidly: (11-17) "The number of deaths in Ukraine from flu viruses has risen to 315, with 16 passing away over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry has reported."

Vatican Engineered Victory for Pelosicare: "...the Bishops and the Vatican itself are calling the shots behind the scene. In fact, as many media organizations are now reporting, they engineered the 'compromise' that deleted abortion funding so the bill could pass the House. The Los Angeles Times reported that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic, not only 'conferred with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to be sure the new restrictions were acceptable' but "consulted by telephone with a cardinal in Rome.'... Where is the media outrage over 'the separation of church and state?' In this case, there is direct evidence of a foreign entity, the Vatican, actually passing judgment on legislation and, in effect, delivering votes for it....

"Man, the papal 'Peace on Earth' document said, 'has the right to ... food, clothing, shelter, medical care, rest, and, finally, the necessary social services... to be looked after in the event of ill health....'  As defined by the Catholic Bishops, this is a blueprint for a socialist state.

"Pope Benedict spoke forcefully in his own 'Charity in Truth' encyclical, declaring that we need 'a worldwide redistribution of energy resources,' more foreign aid from rich to poor nations, and a 'world political authority' with 'teeth' working through the United Nations to bring this about."

Healthcare provision seeks to embrace prayer treatments: "A little-noticed measure would put Christian Science healing sessions on the same footing as clinical medicine. Critics say it violates the separation of church and state.... 'We are making the case for this, believing there is a connection between healthcare and spirituality,' said Davis, who distributed 11,000 letters last week to Senate officials urging support for the measure." See Merging Religion and Mystical"Science"

[Older video]  Congressman Mike Rogers' opening statement on Health Care reform in Washington D.C.: "This is straight from the congress in session - no lies, no hiding, just good old fashioned common sense."

AIDS leading cause of death, disease in women: "Unsafe sex is the leading risk factor in developing countries for these women of childbearing age, with others including lack of access to contraceptives and iron deficiency, the WHO said. Throughout the world, one in five deaths among women in this age group is linked to unsafe sex...

"The data were included in a report that attempts to highlight the unequal health treatment a female faces from childbirth through infancy and adolescence into maturity and old age. ...women enjoy a biological advantage because they tend to live six to eight years longer than men. But in many parts of the world they suffer serious disadvantages...." See Mine is the Power!

Child paralysed by Flu Mist in the US: "Our granddaughter... received the nasal spray vaccine for H1N1 on Tuesday of this week and within a half an hour started feeling bad. She developed a fever of 103 and continued for most of Wednesday with it. She seemed better yesterday, but was still not herself. She woke up this morning and could not walk (her legs were paralyzed)....We think she has GuillIain Barre and, if so, the, paralysis can spread to her other limbs and her face. We are requesting prayer..." [We can't verify this story or endorse the website, but it offers information about the flu from many parts of the world.]

What the Pelosi Health-Care Bill Really Says: "What the government will require you to do: • Sec. 202... of the bill requires you to enroll in a 'qualified plan.'...

• Sec. 224... provides that 18 months after the bill becomes law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services will decide what a 'qualified plan' covers and how much you'll be legally required to pay for it. That's like a banker telling you to sign the loan agreement now, then filling in the interest rate and repayment terms 18 months later....

• Sec. 303... makes it clear that, although the 'qualified plan' is not yet designed, it will be of the 'one size fits all' variety....

• Sec. 59b... says that when you file your taxes, you must include proof that you are in a qualified plan. If not, you will be fined thousands of dollars. Illegal immigrants are exempt from this requirement.

• Sec. 412...says that employers must provide a 'qualified plan' for their employees and pay 72.5% of the cost..."

111 New Bureacracies in Pelosi's Healthcare Bill: "Her bill is 1,990 pages long, contains 400,000 words, and comes in at $2.24 Million per word. If this were not enough, there are 111 newly-created federal bureaucracies that would have to be formed to take care of the massive requirements of Pelosi's bill. When the healthcare bills began to surface in the summer, we were amazed when 53 new healthcare agencies were proposed. Now the list has swelled in typical Beltway-thinking to 111 new federal healthcare agencies."

Taxpayers swarm Capitol to protest Obamacare: "A crowd of at least 10,000 descended on the Capitol today to protest the trillion-dollar health-care bill and storm the halls of congressional office buildings. With less than a week's notice to prepare for the event, the throng steadily grew as buses unloaded for an 'Emergency House Call on Congress' to stop the House from passing the bill."

The ‘Costs’ of Medical Care: [By Thomas Sowell] "We are incessantly being told that the cost of medical care is 'too high.... But nothing that is being proposed by the government is likely to lower those costs.... There is a fundamental difference between reducing costs and simply shifting costs around.... Letting old people die would undoubtedly be cheaper than keeping them alive — but that does not mean that the costs have gone down. It just means that we refuse to pay the costs....

"If doctors' incomes were cut in half, that would not lower the cost of producing doctors through years of expensive training in medical schools and hospitals.... What it would do is reduce the number of very able people who are willing to take on the high costs of a medical education when the return on that investment is greatly reduced....

"Britain has had a government-run medical system for more than half a century and it has to import doctors, including some from Third World countries where the medical training may not be the best.... Like other ways of refusing to pay costs, it has consequences." But our God still reigns!

October 2009

[UK] Proven: The ‘Right to Health Care' Leads to Denial of Care: [UK]: "Doctors say Fenton is an example of patients who have been condemned to death on the Liverpool care pathway plan. They argue that while it is suitable for patients who do have only days to live, it is being used more widely in the NHS, denying treatment to elderly patients who are not dying. Fenton's daughter describes the NHS system for dealing with very ill elderly patients as 'a subterfuge for legalized euthanasia of the elderly.' In other words, a death panel....

"In such a system, the patient has little or no control precisely because he is not the one paying the bills, so no one has to listen to him. That's what happens when people surrender their actual right to health-care, the right to contract for it privately with doctors and insurance companies, in exchange for an illusory 'right' to whatever care the government chooses to provide—or withhold." See Safety in Jesus

Florida plan advises hospitals to bar some patients in event of severe flu pandemic: "Florida health officials are drawing up guidelines that recommend barring patients with incurable cancer, end-stage multiple sclerosis and other conditions from being admitted to hospitals if the state is overwhelmed by flu cases. The plan, which would guide Florida hospitals on how to ration scarce medical care during a severe flu outbreak, also calls for doctors to remove patients with poor prognoses from ventilators to treat those who have better chances of surviving. That decision would be made by the hospital....

"The goal, the plan says, is to focus care on patients whose lives could be saved and who would be most likely to improve. While it says those decisions are not to be made based on patients' perceived social worth or role, the plan calls for different rules for some populations." See The Dark Roots of EUGENICS

Sunstein: Take organs from 'helpless patients': "President Obama's newly confirmed regulatory czar defended the possibility of removing organs from terminally ill patients without their permission. Cass Sunstein also has strongly pushed for the removal of organs from deceased individuals who did not explicitly consent to becoming organ donors.... Though it may sound grotesque, routine removal is not impossible to defend,' wrote Sunstein. 'In theory, it would save lives, and it would do so without intruding on anyone who has any prospect for life.'" See The Dark Roots of EUGENICS

Legal Immunity Set for Swine Flu Vaccine Makers: "Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sibelius has not only given immunity to the makers of Tamiflu and Relenza for injuries stemming from their use against swine flu, she has granted immunity to future swine flu vaccines and 'any associated adjuvants'. The last time the government embarked on a major vaccine campaign against a new swine flu, thousands filed claims contending they suffered side effects from the shots. This time around, they will have no recourse....

"...while the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention hoping to have 120 million doses of H1N1 swine flu virus vaccine ready before flu season this fall, some are raising concerns over what they see as an effort to rush the drug through safety trials."

Senate Finance Committee approves health care overhaul package: "The push to overhaul America’s $2.6 trillion medical system entered a decisive stage Tuesday following a historic vote by the Senate’s Finance Committee." See Horrors in the HealthCare Bill

Your health records available to millions: "Would American citizens object if they knew 4 million health-related businesses distributed private details about their mental illnesses, cancer diagnoses...?

Spin Doctors for Obamacare: "Obama's spin doctors belong to a group called Doctors for America (DFA), which reportedly supplied the white lab coats. The White House event was organized in conjunction with DFA and Organizing for America, Obama's campaign outfit.... The supposedly '"grassroots' nonprofit DFA is a spin-off of Doctors for Obama, a 2008 campaign arm that aggressively pushed the Democrats' government health care." See Horrors in the Healthcare Bill

Flu Vaccine.  Forced Vaccinations in Massachusetts (H1N1): Video alert: "Doesn’t look like anything is holding this back from becoming law. I hope the people will resist this strongly."

Obamacare — faster inflation, worse care: "The countries where government controlled more than 80 percent of health care spending experienced the largest increases in per capita outlays.... For all that extra spending, expansive state-run programs don't produce better results. ...for the eight most common types of cancer, Americans have dramatically higher survival rates than Europeans."

Military to get mandatory swine flu shots soon: "The Pentagon has bought 2.7 million vaccines, and 1.4 million of those will go to active duty military. National Guard troops on active duty are also required to receive the vaccine.... As a result, the military is expected to provide health officials with an early assessment of the vaccine. 'Because I can compel people to get the shots, larger numbers will have the vaccine,' said Renuart, commander of U.S. Northern Command. 'They will, as a percentage of the population, be vaccinated more rapidly than many of us. So we may see some objective results, good or not, of the vaccinations."

Lou Dobbs: North American Union Orwellian Brave New World: Video [Notice the reference to swine flu and open borders]

N.Y. Health Care Workers Revolt Over H1N1 Vaccine: "Registered nurse Frank Mannino, 50, was also angry. He said the state regulation violates his personal freedom and civil rights. 'And now I will lose my job if I don't take the regular flu shot or the swine flu shot.' When asked if he's willing to lose his job, Mannino said, 'Absolutely. I will not take it, will not be forced. This is still America.'"

Swine flu school closings could cost billions: "Closing schools and day care centers because of swine flu could cost between $10 billion and $47 billion, a report by the Brookings Institution think tank found. The government is urging schools to close only as a last resort, such as when large numbers of kids or staffers come down with swine flu. ....Keeping kids home from school would require parents to stay home from work too, and some of those parents are health care workers, the report said."

What's Hiding in the Health-Care Bill? "The lack of transparency is stunning.... [1] Democrats are hiding the true cost of the bill. The Baucus bill will likely entail $1.7 trillion in government spending over the next ten years. That's offset by some $838 billion new taxes and fees.... [2] So far, some 500 amendments have been proposed for the Baucus bill, many of which will make the legislation more expensive....

[3] The legislation contains over $500 billion in cuts to Medicare.... [4] The bill promises to provide more coverage to more people with less money and fewer doctors.... Further, the bill does nothing to address the fraud problem in Medicaid. The Baucus bill is expanding Medicaid even though the Government Accountability Office says 10 percent of all Medicaid spending is fraudulent...."

Anonymous quote: "So let me get this straight…. This health care plan -

will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it,

passed by a Congress that hasn't read it and whose members will be exempt from it

signed by a president who smokes (ignoring new rules for prevention)

funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes

overseen by a surgeon general who is overweight (another prevention violation)

and financed by a country that is dead broke.    What could possibly go wrong?

Mandatory flu vaccination splits workers: "The [NY] regulation, which was approved in August, comes with a stinging addendum: Get vaccinated or get fired. ... The opponents also say it's wrong that all five swine flu vaccine makers contracting with the federal government have been indemnified against lawsuits if someone gets sick or dies."

Liberals seek health-care access for illegals: "Fearful that they're losing ground on immigration and health care, a group of House Democrats is pushing back and arguing that any health care bill should extend to all legal immigrants and allow illegal immigrants some access."

[Senator] Ensign receives handwritten confirmation: "...from Joint Committee on Taxation... confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance. Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it "Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold."

GOP to block HHS confirmations until 'gag order' lifted: "Republicans are now threatening to block confirmation votes on key Health and Human Services nominees unless the department again allows Medicare plan providers to disseminate information about possible cuts to the program.  '...seniors ought to get as much information about what is happening in this program as any other American.' ... 'And having the Medicare folks down at HHS deny them the accurate information that their insurer is sending them, I think is wrong." See Horrors of HealthCare

Death panels by proxy : "...under the health care bill sponsored by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus..., death panels will indeed exist. ... It just says that if a doctor authorizes expensive care, no matter how successfully, the government will punish him by scrimping on what already is a low reimbursement rate for treating Medicare patients. ... This is far from the only part of Baucus-Pelosi-Obamacare that would almost certainly lead to rationing of care, especially for the elderly."

What Doctors Think About Health Reform: "Two of every three practicing physicians oppose the medical overhaul plan under consideration in Washington, and hundreds of thousands would think about shutting down their practices or retiring early if it were adopted...."

Two thousand schoolgirls suffer suspected ill-effects from cervical cancer vaccine : "Doctors' reports show that girls of 12 and 13 have experienced convulsions, fever and paralysis after being given the vaccine, which is now administered in schools as part of efforts to prevent women developing cancer. Others suffered nausea, muscle weakness, dizziness and blurred vision....  A support group says it has received dozens of calls from parents who believe their daughters have been damaged by the vaccine. The parents of one teenage girl given the jab last autumn believe it was to blame for repeated seizures which have left her with brain damage and psychosis.

"The immunisation programme for teenage girls is controversial because it protects them from the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus which causes 70 per cent of cervical tumours." See Huxley's Brave New World

[Video] Congressman Mike Rogers' opening statement on Health Care reform: "This is a travesty, Mr. Chairman."

Pandemic bill allows health authorities to enter homes, detain without warrant: "A 'pandemic response bill' currently making its way through the Massachusetts state legislature would allow authorities to forcefully quarantine citizens in the event of a health emergency, compel health providers to vaccinate citizens, authorize forceful entry into private dwellings and destruction of citizen property and impose fines on citizens for noncompliance. ... .If citizens refuse to comply with isolation or quarantine orders in the event of a health emergency, they may be imprisoned for up to 30 days and fined $1,000 per day that the violation continues. 'Pandemic Response Bill' 2028 was passed by the Massachusetts state Senate on April 28 and is now awaiting approval in the House." See Horrors in the Healthcare Bill

Inside a Creepy Global Body Parts Business: "The German company Tutogen's business in body parts is as secretive as it is lucrative. It extracts bones from corpses in Ukraine to manufacture medical products, as part of a global market worth billions that is centered in the United States....

"The incident in the Ukrainian capital is part of the secretive daily routine of a little-known but highly lucrative branch of the medical industry. ...they reuse almost everything the human body has to offer: bones, cartilage, tendons, muscle fascia, skin, corneas, pericardial sacs and heart valves. In the jargon of the profession, all of this is referred to as tissue... According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, more than a million bone parts are used in transplants every year.... If a body were disassembled into its individual parts, then processed and sold, the total proceeds could amount to $250,000 ( 176,000). For a single corpse!...."

In such a business, life seem cheap -- and death becomes very profitable. It reminds me of Eugenics and how it can be manipulated. See The Dark Roots of EUGENICS

Tragic Tales From The NHS [British National Health Service]: "'...the Patients Association has been receiving calls on our help line from people wanting to talk about the dreadful, neglectful, demeaning, painful and sometimes downright cruel treatment their elderly relatives had experienced at the hands of NHS nurses.'...

"Mark Wattson, who after weeks of excruciating pain was happy to get his appendix removed — or so he thought. Doctors told him the operation was a success and sent him home.... 'Only a month later the 35-year-old collapsed in agony and had to be taken back to Great Western Hospital... by ambulance. To his shock, surgeons from the same team told him that not only was his appendix still inside him, but it had ruptured — a potentially fatal complication.'

"...about 1,000 victims of rare forms of cancer were denied drug treatment the past three years. Reason? NHS bureaucrats had not licensed them for their particular form of cancer." See Horrors in the HealthCare Bill

Physicians sue Obama for health-care 'snitch' program: "A prominent physicians' group is suing the Obama administration, claiming the White House wrongfully collected information and violated First Amendment Rights when it implemented a citizen 'snitch' program to collect information on those who make 'fishy' statements about the president's health 'reform.'... In his post on the White House blog, Macon Phillips, White House director of new media, wrote:

" 'Scary chain e-mails and videos are starting to percolate on the Internet, breathlessly claiming, for example, to 'uncover' the truth about the president's health insurance reform positions. There is a lot of disinformation.... These rumors often travel just below the surface.... Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an e-mail or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.'" See Your friendly community spies

'Cruel and neglectful' care of one million NHS patients [UK]: "In the last six years, the Patients Association claims hundreds of thousands have suffered from poor standards of nursing, often with 'neglectful, demeaning, painful and sometimes downright cruel' treatment. The charity has disclosed a horrifying catalogue of elderly people left in pain, in soiled bed clothes, denied adequate food and drink, and suffering from repeatedly cancelled operations, missed diagnoses and dismissive staff."See Horrors in the HealthCare Bill

Bed shortage forces 4,000 mothers to give birth in lifts, offices and hospital toilets [UK]: "The lives of mothers and babies are being put at risk.... Health chiefs admit a lack of maternity beds is partly to blame for the crisis, with hundreds of women in labour being turned away from hospitals because they are full.... Labour [party] had cut maternity beds by 2,340, or 22 per cent, since 1997. At the same time birth rates have been rising sharply - up 20 per cent in some areas." Yet, Tom Daschle's new book [which I'm currently reading] on "fixing" our healthcare touts the UK medical system as a model for America! See next link:

Obamacare: ...Stop Consulting with Daschle: "Daschle believes in centralized rationing boards like the UK's Orwellian named National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), that tells the NHS what it can and can't cover. From a Wall Street Journal article last January: 'Tom Daschle [has] long advocated a U.S. approach modeled on the British agency, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). Mr. Daschle argues that the only way to reduce spending is by allocating medical products based on 'cost effectiveness.'" See Horrors in the Healthcare Bill

Obamacare: Evidence that "End of Life" Counseling Could Be Directed Toward Death: "....under President Obama, the VA has now resuscitated 'Your Life, Your Choices.'... For example, a worksheet on page 21 lists various scenarios and asks users to then decide whether their own life would be ‘not worth living.' The circumstances listed include ones common among the elderly and disabled.... There is a section which provocatively asks, 'Have you ever heard anyone say, ‘If I'm a vegetable, pull the plug'?' There also are guilt-inducing scenarios such as 'I can no longer contribute to my family's well being,' 'I am a severe financial burden on my family' and that the vet's situation 'causes severe emotional burden for my family.'...

"And we musn't forget that the assisted suicide advocacy group Compassion and Choices–formerly the Hemlock Society–brags about contributing to the end of life counseling section of the bill." See The Dark Roots of EUGENICS

Obama: 'No taxpayer-funded abortions in health bill': "The Obama-backed legislation makes it explicitly clear that no citizen would be allowed to enroll in the government plan unless he or she is willing to give the federal agency an extra amount calculated to cover the cost of all elective abortions – this would not be optional. The abortionists would bill the federal government and would be paid by the federal government." See Human Nature

Canadian Medicare Large Wards and Long Waits: "Rooms paid for by Medicare have from 4 to 6 beds. They are called wards. Men and women of any age, starting at 14, may be put in the same room.... I have seen my mother in a mixed ward with five other patients and we had to spend the night sitting next to her bed because she was afraid of the men. ... I have seen young teens of 14 or 15, with very old, very sick, dying patients, and these youngsters were petrified.... When I was still living in New Brunswick, my doctor retired and I was four years without a doctor. The waiting list for surgeries may be more than a year, even for cancer." See "In everything give thanks" and a preview of an article I plan to post on Sunday

Obama misidentifies 'rationing': "Mr. Obama repeatedly warned about his opponents using scare tactics. What's truly scary is the president's command of the facts. Last week, Mr. Obama tried to convince Americans that it is insurance companies, not government, that impose rationing." See Horrors in the Healthcare Bill

Research effectiveness warnings: "...it is surprising there has not been more attention paid to the idea of a government-sponsored Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research (CCER), which would review the efficacy of various medical treatments and pharmaceuticals....

"...public-private partnerships all have one thing in common: All the money comes from the same place. It comes out of people's pockets through increased taxes, higher prices, premiums or co-payments or reductions in service. But, even more than the financial burden of the CCER, the implications of a government-sponsored entity making judgments about "best practices" should be enough to raise anyone's blood pressure to dangerous levels." See Reinventing the World

'Death panel' is not in the bill... it already exists: "H.R. 1 [Obama's Stimulus Bill which is now law] contains a whopping $1.1 billion to fund the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research. The Council is the brain child of former Health and Human Services Secretary Nominee Tom Daschle.... Daschle's stated purpose (and therefore President Obama's purpose) for creating the Council is to empower an unelected bureaucracy to make the hard decisions about health care rationing that elected politicians are politically unable to make. The end result is to slow costly medical advancement and consumption. ... McCaughey goes on to explain: 'Daschle says health-care reform 'will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them.'

"Who is on the Council? One of its most prominent members is none other than Dr. Death himself Ezekiel Emanuel. Dr. Emanuel's views on care of the elderly should frighten anyone who is or ever plans on being old." See Horrors in the HealthCare Bill

Chocolate cuts death rate after heart attack: "Heart attack survivors who eat chocolate two or more times per week cut their risk of dying from heart disease about threefold compared to those who never touch the stuff, scientists have reported."

Health Care for All Illinois Act: "This bill expands comprehensive health coverage to all Illinois residents using a single-payer statewide insurance system. Doctors and hospitals remain private, and patients retain their choice of physician and hospital. The bill combines savings from reduced administration with current federal funds and spending by individuals and businesses to expand coverage without spending any more than the state, its residents and its businesses are spending currently. Provisions are made to control costs so benefits are sustainable." See Reinventing the World

Deadly Doctors: "The health bills coming out of Congress would put the decisions about your care in the hands of presidential appointees. ... Start with Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. He has already been appointed to two key positions.... Emanuel bluntly admits that the cuts will not be pain-free. ... Savings, he writes, will require changing how doctors think about their patients: Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously, 'as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or effects on others.'...

"But Emanuel wants doctors to look beyond the needs of their patients and consider social justice, such as whether the money could be better spent on somebody else. ...'communitarianism' should guide decisions on who gets care. He says medical care should be reserved for the non-disabled, not given to those "who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens." See Horrors in this Healthcare Bill

Here is a link to a bioethics paper written by  Ezekiel Emanuel, a medical ethicist at the National Institutes of Health. It's about as cold-hearted a utilitarian approach to humanity as you could get: "Principles for Allocation of Scarce Medical Resources"

"Brown Shirts" vs. Purple Shirts: "Democrats attack congressional town hall protesters as 'Brown Shirts' -- likening taxpayer activists across the country to Hitler's storm troopers. But it's the Big Labor hoodlums clad in identical purple shirts -- the uniform of Service Employees International Union [SEIU] members -- who own the mob label.

"Margarida Jorge, a former SEIU organizing director who now serves as national field director for the deep-pocketed, left-wing coalition Health Care for America Now, sent out a memo to her foot soldiers last week on how to counter Obamacare opponents. 'You must bring enough people to drown them out and to cover all our bases so as to marginalize their disruptive tactics,' she exhorted....

"SEIU-endorsed Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius openly praised the union's drowning-out campaign against Obamacare critics in a teleconference call last week. She urged her 'brothers and sisters' to keep doing what they were doing. SEIU health care chair Dennis Rivera of New York then railed against the 'radical fringe' of 'right-wingers,' whom he accused of 'terrorist tactics.'" See Horrors in the Healthcare Bill

Read the bill, congressmen: "President Obama is pushing Congress to pass health care legislation that could nationalize as much as 10 percent of the economy. Most members of Congress will vote on this bill with no idea what's in it. Rep. John Conyers Jr., Michigan Democrat, disparaged lawmakers for even pretending to read the laws they pass.... Mr. Conyers might think it's an antiquated notion that congressmen actually read legislation, but it is the most fundamental responsibility of elected representatives to know and understand laws and how they will affect the lives of their constituents." Keep using Tamiflu... [but] children may suffer nightmares and nausea: [UK] "The government's chief medical officer Sir Liam Donaldson has said Tamiflu should still be given to children, despite more than half of young recipients who take the drug suffering side effects such as nausea and nightmares. The drug being used to fight swine flu can also produce stomach pain, diarrhea and sleeping problems. Researchers in two studies reported that many children found concentration difficult after taking the drug -- which could affect their performance in school tests and exams."

Our New Medical Judges? "[President Obama ] is seeking to launch the Independent Medicare Advisory Council, or IMAC, a bland title for a body that could become as much an arbiter of medicine as the Fed is of the economy or the Supreme Court of the law. ... Under his plan, the president would name five physicians or other health-care-savvy members to serve for five-year terms on its board, picking one of them as chairman. Like the nominees to the Fed and the Supreme Court, they would have to be confirmed by the Senate. Each year, IMAC would have two responsibilities. First, it would recommend to the president updated fees that Medicare would pay doctors, hospitals, rehab centers, nursing homes, labs, home-care and ambulance services, equipment manufacturers, and all other providers....

"Second, IMAC would annually recommend a set of broader reforms to improve the quality or reduce the cost of medical care. On each report, the president would have 30 days to approve or reject the recommendations, but he would have to act on the whole package, not pick it apart. If he approved, the package would go to Congress and could be overruled only by joint action of the Senate and House within 30 days."

Magician Politics: "President Barack Obama's televised news conference on medical care shows that he is something of a magician when it comes to politics. The big trick for the president is to convince the public that he can add tens of millions of people to his government medical care plan without raising the costs. But an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office showed that Obamacare would in fact raise the costs and increase the deficit by billions of dollars."

GovernmentCare’s Assault on Seniors: "...legislation now being rushed through Congress—H.R. 3200 and the Senate Health Committee Bill—will reduce access to care, pressure the elderly to end their lives prematurely, and doom baby boomers to painful later years....The Congressional majority wants to pay for its $1 trillion to $1.6 trillion health bills with new taxes and a $500 billion cut to Medicare. This cut will come just as baby boomers turn 65 and increase Medicare enrollment by 30%. Less money and more patients will necessitate rationing....The assault against seniors began with the stimulus package in February. Slipped into the bill was substantial funding for comparative effectiveness research, which is generally code for limiting care based on the patient’s age."

Dems Start To Push Back Hard To Prevent A 'Waterloo': "[Grassley said] "A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it [Health bill] wasn't going to pass if there weren't some changes made ... and the president says, 'You're going to destroy my presidency.'"

Welcome to Mexico, Gringos!: "I once had a minor medical procedure done in Mexico. The doc wanted to be paid in cash, and I obliged. Then I asked for a receipt.... By asking for a receipt in the double economy of Mexico I was asking the doc to sign a confession to the tax police. ... I learned something about the underground economy in socialized medicine....

"Welcome to Mexico, friends, where the people are warm and wonderful, the drug gangs ruthless (but mostly gun for each other), and the medical profession is a sign of things to come in the US of A. Rich people get pretty good medical care in Mexico. Poor people? So-so to dreadful."

Governors worried by healthcare bill costs: "The nation's governors, Democrats as well as Republicans, voiced deep concern yesterday about the shape of the healthcare bill emerging from Congress, fearing that the federal government is about to hand them expensive new Medicaid obligations without providing the money to pay for them.  '...what we don't want from the federal government is unfunded mandates,' said Gov. Jim Douglas of Vermont.... 'We can't have the Congress impose requirements that we are forced to absorb beyond our capacity to do so.'"

Rationing for Dummies: "It’s beginning to sink in that Obama’s nationalized health care will lead directly to rationing, which Americans desire about as much as a case of salmonella.... [Princeton ethicist Peter Singer]...who advocates the right of parents to kill their newborns even several days later if the babies disappoint them, poses a series of ethical dilemmas that resemble the lifeboat analogy. The boat is sinking and holds only so many. Who stays aboard and who’s thrown to the sharks?

"'...we might say that the good achieved by health care is the number of lives saved. But that is too crude. The death of a teenager is a greater tragedy than the death of an 85-year-old, and this should be reflected in our priorities. We can accommodate that difference by calculating the number of life-years saved, rather than simply the number of lives saved. If a teenager can be expected to live another 70 years, saving her life counts as a gain of 70 life-years, whereas if a person of 85 can be expected to live another 5 years, then saving the 85-year-old will count as a gain of only 5 life-years.” See The Dark Roots of EUGENICS

Obama Admits He's "Not Familiar" With House Bill: "Obama hosted a conference call with leftist bloggers urging them to pressure Congress to pass his health plan as soon as possible. During the call, a blogger from Maine said he kept running into an Investors Business Daily article that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance. He asked: 'Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?' President Obama replied: 'You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.'" HOW CAN HE SO VIGOROUSLY PUSH THIS BILL IF HE DOESN'T KNOW ITS CONTENT?

Video: Did Michelle Obama start a patient-dumping program? "Hannity reports on the Urban Health Initiative, a program ostensibly intended to provide the kind of change in health care that President Obama says his program will deliver nationally — fewer emergency room vists, better wellness and prevention care, and lower costs.... In practice, it looks more like a patient-dumping scheme to avoid dealing with Medicare/Medicaid patients."

Why won't Congress enroll in gov't health care? "If government-run health care is such a great idea, why won't members of Congress enroll their own families? The question has been on the minds of many Americans, but Democrats aren't giving answers. Instead, they are exempting themselves from their own health care 'reform.'"

Eugenics. Ruth Bader Ginsburg and a question of eugenics: "Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in Sunday's New York Times Magazine: 'Frankly I had thought that at the time [Roe vs. Wade] was decided... there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don't want to have too many of.' ... Ginsburg was surprised when the Supreme Court in 1980 barred taxpayer support for abortions for poor women. After all, if poverty partly described the population you had 'too many' of, you would want to subsidize it in order to expedite the reduction of unwanted populations...." See The Dark Roots of Eugenics

Obamacare for old folks: Just 'cut your life short': "Health plan provision demands 'end-of-life' counseling....'One of the most shocking things is page 425, where the Congress would make it mandatory absolutely that every five years people in Medicare have a required counseling session' she said. 'They will tell [them] how to end their life sooner.' The proposal specifically calls for the consultation to recommend 'palliative care and hospice' for seniors in their mandatory counseling sessions. Palliative care and hospice generally focus only on pain relief until death."

Legal immunity set for swine flu vaccine makers: "The last time the government embarked on a major vaccine campaign against a new swine flu, thousands filed claims contending they suffered side effects from the shots. This time, the government has already taken steps to head that off. Vaccine makers and federal officials will be immune from lawsuits that result from any new swine flu vaccine, under a document signed by Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, government health officials said Friday."

'Our records show that your eleven-year-old daughter has not been immunized for genital warts.'....

ObamaCare’s False Promises: "...the Canadian government, the sole provider of health care, spends 10 percent on health care by setting a global budget. The demand for health care exceeds that amount but is not available. As a result, Canadians wait on average 17.3 weeks from seeing a primary care doctor to getting treatment by a specialist. Care is rationed by age and often denied. ...'Access to a waiting list is not access to health care.'....

"If President Obama signs a health care reform package based on his four pillars for reform which are included in the Kennedy bill, we will all face rationed care and long waiting lists.... Doctors will be paid based on Medicare rates and many will retire from the practice of medicine...." See Reinventing the World

Senate health committee clears insurance overhaul: "The Senate health committee cast a milestone vote Wednesday to approve legislation expanding insurance coverage to nearly all Americans.... The 13-10 party line vote advanced a $600 billion measure that would require individuals to get health insurance and employers to contribute to the cost. The government would provide financial assistance with premiums for individuals and families making up to four times the federal poverty level, or about $88,000 for a family of four. The health committee legislation is but one piece of broader Senate legislation that's still under development."  Smiling at Socialism and Scorning the Bible

How Senator Mikulski Slipped an Abortion Mandate into the Health Care Bill: "To eliminate any ambiguity that Mikulski's amendment was intended to mandate abortion coverage in the proposed health-care reform, Hatch asked her a final question. 'Madame Chairman, would you be willing to put some language in that says, 'Not including abortion services'?' Hatch asked....

"Mikulski concluded a convoluted response by saying, 'So, no, I would not be willing to do that at this time.' Mikulski's amendment passed."

Obama's health site seeking 'nightmares': "President Obama has launched an online 'health care story bank' that allows citizens to share real-life medical horror stories and stimulate support for his health care plans for the nation. It asks visitors to read stories from people across the country and "see the common thread in a crisis that affects us all." See The UN Plan for Your Mental Health

Covering the Cost of Assisted Suicide but Not Chemotherapy in Oregon: "Medicaid is rationed, meaning that some treatments are not covered. But assisted suicide is always covered.... Last month, [Barbara Wagner] found out that her lung cancer, which had been in remission for about two years, had come back. After her oncologist prescribed a cancer drug that could slow the cancer growth and extend her life, Wagner was notified that the Oregon Health Plan wouldn’t cover the treatment, but that it would cover palliative, or comfort, care, including, if she chose, doctor-assisted suicide."

Ponder the cold pragmatism in the next excerpt -- apparently a comment by a college student:

The Economic Argument for Euthanasia: "One idea that politicians on neither the left nor the right will touch due to political sensibilities, however, could be the easiest way to save billions of dollars without affecting health care quality at all: legalizing euthanasia. ...those with terminal illnesses are resource sinks for society. End of life care is incredibly expensive.... Obviously, those in the final stages of a terminal illness are no longer in any position to contribute economically to society. Their continued existence may be personally meaningful to the those who love them, but from a economic perspective they are all cost and no benefit.....

"For the more utilitarian minded, however, consider this: a system of legalized euthanasia transfers medical resources from those who want to die to those who want to live. This Pareto improvement is especially clear philosophically when we consider that the government will undoubtedly play a larger role in America’s health care industry, which means that any money saved by allowing geezers to choose euthanasia frees up more health care dollars for the needy."

The same calloused view of life fueled last century's eugenics movement among American leaders during much of the last century, which found its most cruel expression in Nazi Germany -- with much financial help from America. See Eugenics

'45 million Americans' – who are those guys? "About 45 million Americans lack health care insurance. Or do they? A pro-'universal health care' television host recently cited this widely accepted 'fact.' The number is bogus.... Start with the math....

"So now we're down to the Americans without health insurance on a persistent, long-term basis. This is approximately 10-15 million, a big number to be sure. But does this warrant a government takeover of the entire health care system?"

[Scroll down to Swine flu "pandemic"]. Students May Get Swine Flu Shots at School This Fall: "Schoolchildren may be first in line for swine flu vaccine this fall -- and might even be able to get the shot right at school. ... No decision has been made yet on whether and how to vaccinate millions of Americans against the new flu strain that the World Health Organization last week formally dubbed a pandemic, meaning it now is circulating the globe unchecked. ... The secretary [Sebelius] said: 'The worst of all worlds is to have the vaccine cause more damage than the flu potential."

Obama: Health care a 'ticking time bomb': "Calling them 'naysayers,' 'fear-mongers' and peddlers of 'Trojan horse' falsehoods, Obama warned interest groups, lobbyists and others against using 'fear tactics to paint any effort to achieve reform as an attempt to socialize medicine.' 'There are those who will try and scuttle this opportunity no matter what,' Obama said.

"GOP Rep. Tom Price of Georgia — a former orthopedic surgeon — reacted preemptively to Obama's speech by accusing him of seeking a 'government takeover' of health care." But that's what it is! See Smiling at Socialism

(Health Care or) Veterinary Care: "Advocates of a nationalized single-payer arrangement, typically found on the political left, don't like to admit it, but a government system eventually has to ration care. So it goes in Oregon. There, the state's Health Services Commission has compiled a list of 680 treatments, only 503 of which will be paid for by the Oregon Health Plan.... Got condition No. 504 on the list? Too bad. Treatment for lichen planus, a skin rash, is an out-of-pocket expense. So is therapy for a cracked rib... a broken big toe (No. 527) and liver cancer (No. 575). However, those who abuse or are dependent upon psychoactive substances or are dependent on tobacco (Nos. 5 and 6) are covered."

Here Comes Health Care Rationing: "They plan to: 1. Cut diagnostic imaging tests like MRIs and CAT scans. 2. Reduce the use of antibiotics. 3. Perform fewer Caesarean sections. 4. Cut care for management of chronic back pain ... These decisions will ... not be based on a doctor’s opinion of what his or her patient needs, but a bureaucrat’s and an accountan's opinion of what the new health care system can afford.... And you will not be able to bypass their rulings and pay for this care yourself.... What we now call a private fee for service will metastasize into a bribe."

May 2009

Obama says health care changes must come this year: "Obama's political organization, Organizing for America, invited campaign volunteers to a midday conference call to describe a nationwide June 6 kickoff for its health care campaign.... 'The election in November... just gave us an opportunity for change,' Obama said. 'So now, we are really going to have to remobilize...' 'But health care, that's a big push." See The UN Plan for Your Mental Health

The Obamacare to Come: "The net result would be an unprecedented level of government control over one-sixth of the U.S. economy, and over some of the most important, personal, and private decisions in Americans’ lives. ... In an attempt to control health-care costs, the government would undertake research to determine which health-care procedures and technologies are most effective and, more ominously, cost-effective.... But there is every reason to believe such research would be used to impose restrictions on how medicine is practiced....There is no doubt that other countries use comparative-effectiveness research as the basis for rationing." See Resting in Him

KIBBE: A stealth budget bill: "Such sweeping and permanent policy change normally would be subjected to a careful authorization process that allows for hearings, alternative proposals and public comment.... We have only begun to discover the mistakes and consequent damage resulting from the hurried and corrupt process that forced through the government 'stimulus' bill in February....

"By most accounts, the administration has been caught off-guard by rising opposition to its economic policies. Senior White House adviser David Axelrod... referred to the 'tea party' protesters as 'an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that's unhealthy.' [Does that sound like Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano?]

"...Sen. Judd Gregg, New Hampshire Republican, went so far as to compare Mr. Obama's strong-arm tactics to stifle public debate on health care reform with those of an infamous Venezuelan dictator. 'I can understand shaking Hugo Chavez's hand, but I can't understand embracing his politics....,' he said.... 'Now imagine a world where all Americans are herded into Medicare - a future where infinite demand for free services, skyrocketing costs, politically determined health priorities under a global budget, and some grey-suited Soviet with a clipboard determine whether the medical procedure you need to live is worth the cost to the Treasury." Ex-Union Official Calling Shots on Obama Health Plan: "The plan would achieve Obama's goal of universal health coverage through a regulated insurance market. Insurers would agree to significant concessions such as not charging more to people with pre-existing conditions. In return, they want to quash a government-run insurance plan that Obama supports..."

'Private health insurance would vanish': "Under Obama's plan, an estimated 119 million Americans would shift from private coverage to the government plan and put America on the path toward a completely government-run health care system. 'Many, if not most of whom, would not do this voluntarily, basically their employers would dump them into this new government plan,' contends Turner...'We're really close to the margin of losing quality hospitals, quality clinics, quality physicians, and if we have a government-payment system, where government is dictating the prices, then we're going to all wind up with much inferior-quality healthcare in this country.'"

Health Care Reform Is Key to Saving Medicare, Obama Administration Says: "...the government reported that Medicare... is heading for insolvency by 2017, two years earlier than the date projected in last year’s report. ... 'When previously uninsured Americans join Medicare, they are less healthy and cost the system more,' Sebelius said. 'Giving the uninsured coverage before they join Medicare will improve their quality of life and save money for Medicare.'...

"Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, the chairman of the House Republican Conference, said with the nation’s entitlement programs quickly going bankrupt, now is not the time to pass an expensive, government-run health-care plan. 'Our nation’s entitlement programs are quickly going bankrupt and yet President Obama has not offered a plan to preserve Medicare and Social Security for our children and grandchildren,' Pence said.... 'Instead, the administration and Democrats in Congress would rather pass a government-controlled health care plan that will deprive roughly 120 million Americans of their current health care coverage and lead to federal bureaucrats denying critical care for patients.'"

A Plan Comes Together: The Sheep Obey: "Most persons at least 43 years of age will no doubt recall the Swine flu hype of 1976. Starting from a single, infected military recruit, the threat of a pandemic and global death turned into a full-scale media and government circus. For many, the 'Pandemic that Never Was' created havoc, death and long term disability. ... The carnage was created by the misguided steps our government and the overzealous drive from CDC officials to vaccinate....

The next two excerpts are from The Telegraph, a reputable UK newspaper:

Swine Flu: Inflatable mortuaries and 'express' funerals planned for flu pandemic: "Inflatable mortuaries, 24-hour cremations and 'express' funerals could all be used to dispose of thousands of bodies in a flu pandemic, Whitehall papers show. In the worst-case scenario, the bodies of the dead could also be stored in refrigerator trucks. Coffins would be reused to cope with the huge numbers of fatalities. Department of Health projections put the total UK death toll from a pandemic as high as 750,000. ...

"The 59-page report, 'Planning for Possible Influenza Pandemic: A Framework for Planners Preparing to Manage Deaths' has been circulated to local councils, coroners and undertakers.... Under normal circumstances, planners have been ordered not to store bodies in the chilled trucks normally used to transport slaughtered animals and frozen food.... Why Bother? Scientists see this flu strain as relatively mild Genetic data: "As the World Health Organization raised its infectious disease alert level Wednesday... scientists studying the virus are coming to the consensus that this hybrid strain of influenza -- at least in its current form -- isn't shaping up to be as fatal as the strains that caused some previous pandemics.... [It] may not even do as much damage as the run-of-the-mill flu outbreaks that occur each winter without much fanfare."

But, like today's "Green Lies," it has already served as a useful crisis. It helped erode opposition to Obama's Healthcare legislation and Secretary.

April 2009

Compare the first two statements (both released on April 29). Might the need for a crisis have spurred the contradictions?

Only 7 swine flu deaths, not 152, says WHO. "A member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has dismissed claims that more than 150 people have died from swine flu.... Vivienne Allan, from WHO's patient safety program, said the body had confirmed that worldwide there had been just seven deaths - all in Mexico - and 79 confirmed cases of the disease."

Pandemic 'Imminent': WHO Raises Swine Flu Pandemic Alert Level to 5: 'The change to a higher phase of alert is a signal to governments [and industry] that certain actions now should be undertaken with increased urgency and at an accelerated pace,' said Dr. Margaret Chan, WHO's director-general.... 'The biggest question is this -- how severe will the pandemic be, especially now at the start.'' ... Practically speaking, the shift is crucial to mobilize pharmaceutical companies and governments to ... expedite the creation of a vaccine against swine flu....

"'We have been preparing all along as if this is going to be stage 6," Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano said at a press conference this afternoon before the WHO announcement. "Our efforts have been to stay ahead of whatever number WHO assigns.'" See From Freedom to Servitude and the next link:

The Swine Flu PandemicFact or Fiction? ".. this isn't the first time the public has been warned about swine flu. The last time was in 1976... It resulted in the massive swine flu vaccine campaign.... Within a few months, claims totaling $1.3 billion had been filed by victims who had suffered paralysis from the vaccine. ... And the swine flu pandemic itself? It never materialized... despite the fantastic headlines and projections of MILLIONS of deaths. ...your risk of being killed by a lightning strike in the last five years was about 2,300 percent higher than your risk of contracting and dying from the bird flu....

"[On] April 26, The Independent reported that more than 1,000 people had contracted the swine flu virus in Mexico, but by the afternoon that same day, Mexican President Calderon declared that more than two-thirds of the 1,300 thought to have contracted the disease had been given a clean bill of health and sent home.... Czech reporters were probing to see if it may have been part of a deliberate attempt to start a pandemic; as such a 'mistake' would be virtually impossible under the security protocols of that virus. ....

"....flu experts have no idea whether the current seasonal flu vaccine would offer any protection whatsoever .... getting vaccinated now would not only offer no protection and potentially cause great harm, it would most likely be loaded with toxic mercury which is used as a preservative in most flu vaccines."

Is 'possible pandemic' a diversion? "Look over here, not over there. While everyone's attention was being focused by the Obama administration and the media on the 'possible pandemic' of swine flu virus... Democrat congressional leaders and the White House spent 'the weekend hammering out final details of the proposed $3.5 trillion FY 2010 budget bill, with no Republican input, in a push toward final approval of the 2010 budget proposal by Wednesday.' A curious coincidence that the media stayed focused on the swine flu 'epidemic,' but barely a mention about a $1.2 trillion dollar health care budget..." See Don't Be Deceived! Healthcare Bills Will Be Fast-Tracked to Thwart GOP: "By a 227-196 vote, the House affirmed Democrats' plans to move health care legislation under rules that block Republicans in the Senate from being able to slow — or even stop — it from proceeding. The vote came as senior House and Senate Democrats negotiated the issue in private talks on the 2010 budget. Republicans are passionately against the idea of putting health care on a 'fast track,' saying it is too important and too complicated to be rushed through Congress."
