(Feb. 25) 4,500 Chinese escape Libya by sea; Americans stuck: "Two ferries carrying 4,500 Chinese workers from strife-torn Libya arrived at the Mediterranean island of Crete on Thursday....Up to 15,000 Chinese are expected to arrive by ferry on Crete and fly home on chartered flights in one of China‘s largest foreign evacuations in recent times. China has more than 30,000 citizens in Libya working on construction and oil projects.... Those who made it out of Libya described a frightening scene — with bodies hanging from electricity poles in Benghazi and militia trucks loaded up with the dead.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he fears reprisal....

Benghazi has been a center of a six-day revolt by Libyans inspired by uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia and frustrated by Gadhafi's more than 40 years of authoritarian rule. On that day Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the best-known Muslim Brotherhood cleric in the world...will address a mass rally in Cairo....Through internet, radio, his 100 books, and his weekly satellite television program, Qaradawi has been an articulate voice for revolutionary Islamism....
"Qaradawi... argued that Islamists should always participate in elections because they would, he claims, invariably win them..... The brutal attack took place during the raucous 'celebrations' on Friday night in Cairo’s main square. ...the mob of rapists was screaming 'Jew,' 'Jew' as they repeatedly assaulted Mrs. Logan (who is not Jewish). Some reports indicate she is in serious condition and still in shock and unable to communicate...

But it is fair to ask whether this brutal attack took so long to be made public because it does not fit the media narrative about the Egyptian 'revolution.' For two weeks the... media have told us to celebrate the popular uprising in Egypt. Commentators downplayed the possibility of Egypt becoming a radical Islamist state...

The ICG includes on its board Mohamed ElBaradei, one of the main opposition leaders in Egypt, as well as other personalities who champion dialogue with Hamas...

(Feb. 11) Obama, Soros create 'Palestine': "In partnership with a government fund initiated by Barack Obama, philanthropist and billionaire activist George Soros is investing in a private equity company that just launched in the Palestinian territories. The company, Siraj Fund Management Company, says it was created 'for the sole purpose of managing investment funds in Palestine.' The new company's website repeatedly refers to what it calls the 'country' of 'Palestine.' There is, however, no such country as Palestine. Siraj is apparently referring to territories controlled by the Palestinian Authority."
