The links and summaries on this page will show that similar buzzwords, visions, purposes and psychosocial processes are used around the world to drive the transformational agendas of local community groups, global organizations, the World Bank and other "specialized UN agencies," educational and mental health institutions, and the Purpose-Driven and Church Growth Movements. Believers and unbelievers alike are embracing the new relational dialogues and transformational thinking needed to unify the world and establish solidarity.

Rethinking Eschatology: Dominionists on the Move: "...This conference is an interesting precursor to another marketplace transformation conference, which is immediately following Robert Schuller's Rethink Conference (see previous posts), and called Reclaiming the 7 Mountains the 2008 Church in the Workplace Conference....

[Consider this Dominionist purpose]: "'[God] is trying to restore righteousness and justice to the marketplace and bring about the redemption of culture. ... He intends to do this through working people who receive the revelation that their calling is not to change the church; but rather, to change the world by bringing the purposes of God into the economic and power systems that govern it."

The Changing House of Worship: "Rigid New England pews played host to town meetings before the Revolution and afterward, and today modern megachurches have become virtual towns unto themselves, complete with swimming pools, cafeterias, and counseling centers.... 'Build the building, but know, for God's sake, what kind of creatures are going to inhabit it,' Pastor Robert Schuller told a symposium of religious architects at Yale University School of Architecture last month. 'You are creating a sacred space for believers...."
"The size and shape of a church reveal much about the congregation inside. The Puritans preferred their churches simple... By the mid-19th century, however, evangelical Protestants had abandoned the Puritans' bleak outlook on life. They put cushions on their pews, carpets on the floors, and stadium seating in their sanctuaries...."

No Repentance from Willow Creek - Only a Mystical Paradigm Shift: "Article titles in this Willow issue certainly make a statement that things are going to change: 'Seismic Shifts,' 'Rediscovering Spiritual Formation,' 'Stemming the Tide,' 'The Changing Face of Worship,' 'Shifts in Missional Mindset,' and 'The Next Great Debate.' ... In the first article, 'Seismic Shifts,' the message is straightforward:

"'Change or die. ... If the local church refuses to change, it will die. ... But the winds of change are blowing. Leaders and entire congregations are making the choice to try something new. They are looking at the world, culture, norms and trends and they are daring to take a chance, venture a risk, find another way.'" See God's Way versus Our ways and Transformation of the Church

Rethinking Robert Schuller (By Warren Smith): "Schuller's latest move is to hold a 'Rethink Conference' at his Crystal Cathedral.... Among the 30 speakers lending their names and varying degrees of credibility to Robert Schuller's conference are Lee Strobel, Dan Kimball, Charles Colson, George Barna, Rupert Murdoch, [former president G. H. W. Bush], Larry King and Rick Warren's wife, Kay Warren.....

"...in his latest book, 'Don't Throw Away Tomorrow: Living God's Dream for Your Life,' Schuller... states, 'We need to learn the healing quality of wise compromise.... Perhaps the only way to deal with contradictions is to combine them creatively and produce something new....' Whether Schuller knows it or not, he just presented the recipe for a New World Religion."

A Shocking 'Confession' from Willow Creek Community Church [If the url defaults to a general page, try this one: www.crosswalk.com/pastors/11558438]: "...before his death Dr. Spock made an amazing discovery: ...'We have reared a generation of brats. Parents aren't firm enough with their children for fear of losing their love or incurring their resentment. This is a cruel deprivation that we professionals have imposed on mothers and fathers. Of course, we did it with the best of intentions....

"Something just as momentous, in my opinion, just happened in the evangelical community. For most of a generation evangelicals have been romanced by the 'seeker sensitive' movement.... The guru of this movement is Bill Hybels. He and others have been telling us for decades to throw out everything we have previously thought and been taught about church growth and replace it with a new paradigm, a new way to do ministry...." How to catch wild pigs: "They get used to that and start to eat, again you continue until you  have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The  pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to  eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.  Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and  around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to  eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten  how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity." See Communist Exploitation of Religion: Testimony of Richard Wurmbrand

The radiation poisoning of America: "Garcia and co-worker Mary Jasso were never warned about the hazards.... By the end of fire season, Garcia and Jasso were so ill they were forced to retire and the lookout was closed to state personnel.... Garcia’s disorders are a result of chronic electromagnetic field exposure in the microwave range and that 'she has become totally disabled as a result.'... Jasso, who worked the lookout for 11 seasons, is now disabled with brain and lung damage, partial left side paralysis, muscle tremors, bone pain and DNA damage.... At only 61 years of age, she has lost so much memory that she cannot remember back to when her first three children were born....

"The city of San Francisco, with an area of only seven square miles, has over 2,500 licensed cell phone antennas positioned at 530 locations throughout the city. In practical terms, this city, like thousands of others, is being wave-nuked 24 hours a day."

In this global, communitarian system, people become expendable -- just as under Communism. That happens in war as well. Under wise and virtuous commanders, soldiers are challenged but treated fairly. Under ambitious and coldhearted commanders, they become expendable and are wastefully sent to their death -- as shown in Ken Burns' documentary on World War II.

Proposing "A New Theology": "In order to come up with an alternative future scenario for eschatology, the men at the first Consultation began discussing the need to re-visit Genesis chapters 1 and 2. Was the Fall really all that bad? Couldn't the effects of it be reversed by man's activities on earth? Shouldn't man be able to overcome his basic sin nature?"

Why rethink? "The Rethink Conference will take place at Robert Schuller's Crystal Cathedral. According to Church Communication Network (CCN), the event will be hosted by Robert Schuller and Erwin McManus.
"...the event is described as: 'Leading Thinkers and Influencers offer a perspective you may never have imagined.' These thinkers and influencers include a wide array of prominent personalities such as Kay Warren, Chuck Colson, former president H.W. Bush, Larry King, John and Nancy Ortberg, Rupert Murdoch, Gary Smalley.... [W]hat many might not know about Schuller is his New Thought proclivities....   'Hinduism's emphasis on meditation fit[s] well into Unity's patterns for enlightenment."

IS THIS AMERICA?  "I may read something in the newspaper, or in a book, or on the Internet, or I see something happen... and I say to myself, 'This is not America!' This is not the country that I grew up in. It is not the country that I studied in civics classes. It is not the country that I learned about in my classes on American history. It is no longer a country that our Founding Fathers would recognize as being American. Following are some of the reasons..." See Hope in Christ

"At first it may seem like totalitarianism [False teaching]: "The kingdom will start out necessarily authoritative in many ways, or in many areas, but will move toward increasing liberty--so do all true churches and movements that are advancing toward the kingdom." See Transformation of the Church

Premature politics  (Thomas Sowell): "...many no longer consider it necessary to meet arguments with counter-arguments, evidence with counter-evidence or logical analysis with logical analysis to the contrary. Not even in our education system are logic and evidence the touchstones. Not since the days of the Hitler Youth have young people been subjected to more propaganda on more politically correct issues. At one time, educators boasted that their role was not to teach students what to think but how to think. Today, their role is far too often to teach students what to think on everything from immigration to global warming to the new sacred trinity of 'race, class and gender.' On even our most prestigious college campuses -- indeed, perhaps especially on such campuses -- speech codes stifle those students who disagree with the indoctrination, and outside speakers who are out of step with political correctness get shouted down. Alpha - A testimony from Rick Warren: "Over 30 years ago in London, England, God began a movement that has now spread all around the world. It’s called the Alpha course begun by my dear friends Nicky Gumbel.... Many of you have heard of the 40 Days of Purpose campaign that is also being used by God mightily around the world. 40 Days of Purpose and Alpha fit together like hand in glove.... If you have done 40 Days of Purpose, you need to do Alpha: if you have done Alpha, you need to do 40 Days of Purpose, because these two are similar programmes inspired by the Holy Spirit to deepen and develop the Church.... Alpha has my 100% endorsement and I would encourage you to use it in small groups in your Church..." See Small Groups and the Dialectic Process

Alpha - The Vision for Social Transformation: "There are three key principles that underpin our work in Social Transformation.... 1. Integral mission - conjoined evangelism and social action is the basis for our overall approach. This fits with Alpha’s vision statement, 'the re-evangelization of the nations and the transformation of society”. ...

"2. We believe that our social transformation role, as Christians and the Church, is prophetic as well as pastoral. We are called not just to care for the disadvantaged, but also to question and challenge the systems that cause disadvantage." See Transformation of the Church
