Burma is working on nuclear weapons programme: "Intelligence monitoring of the country’s arms purchases from North Korea has been intensified as a result."

Hezbollah at the Border: "...the terror group Hezbollah has expanded its long-established influence with South and Central American drug cartels into a working presence in Mexico....Over 180,000 illegal aliens from countries other than Mexico (OTM) were apprehended from 2007 through mid-March 2010. Nearly 150,000...were from South and Central American countries that the State Department says are being used as corridors for smuggling people from the Middle East, Southwest Asia and East Africa.

The Wrong Way to Fight Jihad: [Interview with Vijay Kumar, congressional candidate, raised in India) "Islam’s Universal Jihad is the single greatest threat to Western civilization and to the entire non-Islamic world in general. Shahzad vows to avenge 'martyred' terrorists: "Faisal Shahzad, who pleaded guilty last month to all charges against him in the attempted bombing case, says: 'This attack on the United States will also be a revenge attack for all the mujahdeen…and the weak and oppressed people of Muslims.'...In the video, Shahzad says '...you will see that the Muslim war has just started… until Islam is spread in the whole world.' '…democracy will be defeated, and so was communism defeated… and the word of Allah will be supreme.'"

Obama at odds with Petraeus doctrine on 'Islam': "The White House's official policy of banning the word 'Islam' in describing America's terrorist enemies is in direct conflict with the U.S. military's war-fighting doctrine now guiding commanders in Iraq and Afghanistan. John O. Brennan... laid out the White House policy of detaching any reference to Islam when referring to terrorists, be it al Qaeda, the Taliban or any other group.

     "But Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, the man tapped by Mr. Obama as the new top commander in Afghanistan, led the production of an extensive counterinsurgency manual in December 2006 that does, in fact, tell commanders of a link between Islam and extremists. Taliban tactic: Making terrorists out of monkeys? Report says U.S. soldiers targeted by AK-47-wielding simians: "Afghanistan's Taliban terrorists are training monkeys to shoot American soldiers with automatic weapons, according to British and Chinese media agencies."

Activist: Islam on the rise: "...President Obama's pro-Islamic leanings are to blame for radical Islamic groups becoming so emboldened that they are openly holding conferences on U.S. soil calling for the establishment of a global Islamic empire.... On July 11 the radical Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir America (HTA) will hold its second annual 'Global Campaign for Khilafah' in a Chicago suburb to call for an end to capitalism and to hype the virtues of an Islamic state ruled by strict sharia law....

     "This year's event is billed 'Emerging World Order: How the Khilafah Will Shape the World.'....HTA is an extremist organization which wants to establish a global Khilafah. Are Terrorists Crossing Arizona Border Into U.S.? "On a single day... nearly 400 inmates sat awaiting trial or extradition after being detained trying to cross the Arizona border from Mexico. Only about half of them were actually from Mexico....Homeland Security officials were holding inmates from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, and the Sudan. Hezbollah, Hamas Raise Money for ‘Terrorist Activities’ From Drug Trade in South America: "Amid growing concern about the illicit drug trade along the U.S.-Mexico border, the terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas are linked to South American drug trafficking organizations South America – and the money Hezbollah and Hamas make from narco-trafficking is used to finance their organizations..." Syria strengthens its ties with North Korea: "U.S. intelligence agencies have tracked North Korean assistance to Syrian ballistic missile programs for decades, and in more recent years Pyongyang is suspected of helping Syria develop a clandestine nuclear capability on a site bombed by Israeli warplanes in 2007. Israel also accuses the Stalinist state of sending weapons to the region for intended use by Hezbollah and Hamas in Lebanon and Gaza. Syria and Iran are the main sponsors of the two terrorist organizations."

Obama STARTS to Disarm America: "On April 8 in Prague, President Obama signed what is called the New START bilateral arms control agreement. It reads like it was written by the Russians and has nothing good in it for the United States. Obama is demanding a rush to ratification, after which we can then discover the details of what the treaty requires. Does that remind you of the procedure used for Obamacare? If there ever were a need for the Senate to read the bill and for the Senate to use its 'advice' power as well as its 'consent' power, this is it....

Muslim neighbors alarmed by Iran's plans: "The growing threat from Iran and its suspected nuclear program is alarming even its Muslim neighbors. ...Arab nations think any conflict that would erupt could allow Iran then to attack them, due to their opposition to its nuclear program and Iran's geopolitical intentions to take over the Arab Peninsula."

Fighting a War without Bullets? "Commanders have ordered a U.S. military unit in Afghanistan to patrol with unloaded weapons....Our overall aim is to defeat the insurgency which means we must gain and then maintain the support of the Afghan population,' said Lieutenant Commander Iain Baxter..."

North Korea threatens "all-out war": North Korea threatened 'all-out war' if Seoul retaliates for the torpedo attack which sank a South Korean warship. Pyongyang made the threat yesterday as it dismissed a report by an international team of specialists that found a torpedo fired by a North Korean submarine sank the 1,200-tonne Cheonan in March, killing 46 sailors."

Thai army closes in for the kill: "At least 24 people have died violently in Bangkok since Thursday....The Red Shirts have discovered a surprising core of solidarity since their protests turned into a broad movement for social change and an end to domination by Thailand’s royalist elite. 'The government is not fair,' said Nong Satthahit, 35. 'The price of rice goes up and down but we never get richer.' That is why many protesters are loyal to Thaksin Shinawatra, the exiled prime minister, who brought in cheap loans and healthcare for the masses before he was ousted in a military coup in 2006." Islamic mosque at 9/11 Ground Zero sparks protest: "A human-rights group is calling on Americans – especially family and friends of loved ones who were lost when Muslim terrorists murdered 2,751 people in the name of Allah on Sept. 11, 2001 – to fight construction of a 13-story Islamic mosque to be built just steps from Ground Zero." Intel Briefs: Obama priorities include Navy cuts: "The Navy is about to have its future ship options dramatically cut due to mounting budget constraints and President Barack Obama's nuclear disarmament goals, and the moves could affect the ability of the United States to respond to future crises."

A Game-Changing Weapon: "The Russian company... is marketing a deadly new weapon, one that can allow a rogue state to overcome the technological superiority of Western militaries. The system can even be used to carry out devastating attacks on the U.S. homeland with little means of defense....Military targets like aircraft carriers could be destroyed, or a key piece of infrastructure could be disabled. Obama Wants to Take Israel's Nukes: "...Obama is keen to adopt an Egyptian proposal to declare the Middle East a nuclear-free zone. A follow-up regional conference would put heavy pressure on all nations to comply. Being the only country in the Middle East believed to possess nuclear weapons, Israel would be the clear target....Arab and Muslim nations have enthusiastically joined and pushed the discussion on Israel's nuclear program in an effort to divert attention from Iran." The German Connection: "Islamism, as we now call a radical version of the faith, emerged in close contact with the West. In the decades before 9/11 Western governments often turned a blind eye to Islamist agitation or, in a few cases, naïvely nurtured the very people who today inspire or lead terrorist attacks in Pakistan.... Islamism can be traced back to an Egyptian schoolteacher named Hasan al-Banna. In 1928 he founded the Muslim Brotherhood, a group devoted to restoring a fundamentalist idea of Islam to government and society alike....

Iran strikes secret nuclear mining deal with Zimbabwe's Mugabe regime: "In return for supplying oil, which Zimbabwe desperately needs to keep its faltering economy moving, Iran has been promised access to potentially huge deposits of uranium ore – which can be converted into the basic fuel for nuclear power or enriched to make a nuclear bomb. 'Iran secured the exclusive uranium rights last month...'"

Chinese Military Seeks to Extend Its Naval Power: "The Chinese military is seeking to project naval power well beyond the Chinese coast, from the oil ports of the Middle East to the shipping lanes of the Pacific, where the United States Navy has long reigned as the dominant force."

Iran boosts Qods shock troops in Venezuela: "The report on Iranian military power provides new details on the group known formally as the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF), the Islamist shock troops deployed around the world to advance Iranian interests. The unit is aligned with terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, North Africa and Latin America, and the report warns that U.S. forces are likely to battle the Iranian paramilitaries in the future."

The Most Dysfunctional Place on Earth: "We now live in a nation that will not name its enemy. Homeland Security wants to eliminate terms like Islamic jihad or terrorism from its vocabulary lest we offend some of the people trying to kill us. The United States has global enemies of every description. Pretending they don't exist is an invitation to attack....

     "Poised on its borders and funded by Iran are two proxy forces, Hezbollah and Hamas. Barring a nuclear attack on Israel, if they succeed, the West is next. The West has tried to ignore this for a very long time.... Nuclear Posturing, Obama-Style: [Krauthammer] "During the Cold War, we let the Russians know that if they dared use their huge conventional military advantage and invaded Western Europe, they risked massive U.S. nuclear retaliation.... Was this credible?... A nuclear posture is just that -- a declaratory policy designed to make the other guy think twice.... Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the U.S. without fear of nuclear retaliation?"

Saudi princes sponsor turbulence: "With their mansions in the center of London and in the countryside around the capital, many of the princes are members of the Wahhabi sect, named after the founder of modern Islamic extremism.

      "'...another 50 volunteers had been recruited to go to Afghanistan,' said an MI5 officer in Skopje. They had been recruited by the several Islamic charities that recently arrived in the region and are suspected of spreading extremism and carrying out money laundering for terrorist organizations."

Guess who's biggest Islamic threat: "Famed PLO terrorist-turned-Christian Walid Shoebat is warning that the United States needs to be watching not Iran, Syria or even Hamas and Hezbollah as closely as it needs to follow the actions of the Islamic leaders of Turkey.... The report said Turkey's increasing disinterest in the European Union combined with its efforts to re-establish its influence in Turkic countries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and its outreaches to Russian, Syria and Iran are cause for concern....

    "Shoebat, the grandson of the Muslim Mukhtar of Beit Sahour-Bethlehem and a friend of Haj-Ameen Al-Husseini, the grand mufti of Jerusalem and notorious friend of Adolf Hitler, is worried about what Turkey is saying and doing."

'Iran developing massive launch site': "North Korea reportedly assisting Teheran in building launch pad for new missile."

The U.S. is not prepared to defend itself against cyberattacks: "If a top intelligence expert said America was not prepared for war and, indeed, that if we went to war 'we would lose,' that would worry you, wouldn’t it? Start worrying....

     "McConnell told a Senate committee last week that the risk we face from cyberattacks 'rivals nuclear weapons in terms of seriousness.' Cybercombatants could cause massive blackouts lasting for months. They could destroy the electronic processes on which our banking, commerce, and financial systems have been built, stealing — or simply wiping out — vast amounts of wealth. Muammar Gaddafi calls for jihad on Swiss after ban on building minarets: "Muammar Gaddafi has appealed for jihad against Switzerland, long regarded as one of the most peaceful nations in the world.... 'Any Muslim in any part of the world who works with Switzerland is an apostate, is against (the Prophet) Muhammad, God and the Koran,' Colonel Gaddafi said..."

5 Muslim soldiers arrested in S.C.: "Five Muslim soldiers were arrested for allegedly trying to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson in South Carolina, according to CBN News. The men, arrested just before Christmas, were part of the Arabic Translation program at the base."

Biden seeks test ban and end to all U.S. nukes: "The Obama administration will move ahead with Senate ratification of a treaty banning nuclear tests that was voted down by Republicans morereaching a new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) with Russia than a decade ago.... The administration is close to , and is nearing completion of a review of U.S. nuclear weapons forces, Mr. Biden said." How can we trust Russia? See Signs of the times

Paying Tribute to Terror: "It has been widely reported, most recently by Al-Jazeera, that the Obama administration and the British government have been contemplating paying off 'moderate' elements of the Taliban in Afghanistan – to the tune of perhaps one billion dollars – as a means of pacifying resistance in that troubled nation.... The Quran expressly allows Muslims to lie to non-Muslims whenever they can advance the teachings of the prophet Muhammad through the use of such deceptions."

 

Al-Qaida likely to attempt attack: "The terrorist organization is deploying operatives to the United States to carry out new attacks from inside the country, including 'clean' recruits with a negligible trail of terrorist contacts.'... 'The biggest threat is not so much that we face an attack like 9/11. It is that al-Qaida is adapting its methods in ways that oftentimes make it difficult to detect," Panetta told the Senate Intelligence Committee."

Iran will deliver telling blow to global powers on Feb. 11: "Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the 'global arrogance' on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. 'The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism,' Ahmadinejad said. ...as the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution approaches."

Obama inciting Russian missile expansion? "President Obama's decision to cancel the installation of defensive missiles in Poland last September may now be undergoing change – with the deployment of U.S. Patriot anti-missiles there, an action that is prompting Russian retaliation."

Switzerland to hold referendum on lawyers for animals : The country recently changed its constitution to ensure the protection of the "dignity" of plant life and passed a law last year guaranteeing rights for all creatures - from guinea pigs to goldfish. If Swiss voters approve the referendum in March, every canton in the country will be obliged to appoint a lawyer to act on behalf of pets and barnyard animals in order to protect them from abuse. ....."Pet keepers think that a so-called love for a guinea pig is enough," he told The Sunday Times. "But this ignores the animal's needs as a species, such as having a companion."

Al-Qaida seeking tools for nuclear 9/1: "Agents for Britain's MI6 Secret Intelligence Service say they are 'certain' al-Qaida is poised to try and grab some of the 80 nuclear weapons that Pakistan possesses. ...there is mounting evidence 'the leadership is thinking of a nuclear 9/11 and are approaching it in increasingly professional ways.'... One analyst said, "There are up to 12,000 people in Pakistan with some kind of role which brings them into nuclear facilities...'"

The Abdulmutallab Travesty: "...the Obama administration shut him down. It didn’t go so far as to tell the Customs and Border Protection officers to cover their ears and try not to listen when Abdulmutallab made incriminating statements on the initial ride to the hospital, but it came close. Al-Qaeda threat: Britain worst in western world: "Al-Qaeda has successfully restructured its global network....Two years ago Jonathan Evans, the head of MI5, estimated that there were 2,000 al-Qaeda sympathisers based in Britain....With al-Qaeda’s leadership under intense pressure from Nato and Pakistani security forces, there are reports that scores of British activists are now travelling to Yemen and Somalia to attend al-Qaeda training camps and receive instructions for carrying out terror attacks against Western targets....

     "The ease with which al-Qaeda has managed to launch attacks against American targets has taken many U.S. intelligence officials by surprise... They have also been shocked to discover that many of those responsible for strengthening the terror capabilities of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula are former inmates of the U.S. Guantanamo Detention Facility in Cuba. Pentagon officials estimate that one in five released Guantanamo detainees have rejoined al-Qaeda terror cells after their release.... [or "far higher than estimated by the Pentagon]....

     "'...Yemen has now emerged as one of al-Qaeda’s top training grounds for its global terrorist network,' said a senior U.S. intelligence official. 'And what really concerns us now is the number of British-based Muslims who are traveling there to take part in the training. This represents a serious escalation in the terror threat the West faces from Islamic militants.'” 

New Al-Qaeda chiefs bringing terror to the world -- Former Guantanamo prisoners have moved to Yemen to rejoin the fight against the West: "...al-Shihri, a Saudi national, spent six years as prisoner number 372 at the US-run Guantanamo detention centre in Cuba after being captured on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in December 2001. In December 2007, however, he was released into the custody of the Saudi government’s 'deradicalisation' programme for terrorists.... Last week Pentagon sources admitted that 61 former prisoners at the camp, 12% of the 510 released, have returned to the battlefield."

Britain and US shut embassies in Yemen after al-Qaida threats: "Al-Qaida threats have forced Britain and the United States to close their embassies in Yemen today amid increasing concern about the roots of terrorism in the Arabian peninsula...." Yet the effort to stop international terrorists from entering America is minimal. Are we asking for disaster?

Al-Qaida double-agent killed CIA officers: "The suicide bombing on a CIA base in Afghanistan last week was carried out by a Jordanian doctor who was an al-Qaida double-agent.... Al-Balawi was arrested by Jordanian intelligence  more than a year ago. However, the Jordanians believed that al-Balawi had been successfully reformed and brought over to the American and Jordanian side, setting him up as an agent and sending him off to Afghanistan and Pakistan to infiltrate al-Qaida.'...

      “...you ponder the verses and hadiths that speak about jihad and its graciousness, and then you let your imagination run wild to fly with what Allah has prepared for martyrs, your life become cheap for its purpose,' he told the interviewer.... 'They say 'there's love that kills.' And I only see that as truthful in the love for jihad...'”

Regime change in Iran: "Hardly a day passes without the increasingly embattled regime of the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and his ever more despised protégé President Mahmoud Amadinejad, using the Revolutionary Guards against the people. With every fatal bullet, with every ill-directed teargas canister and every ill-advised arrest, the heirs to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini who overthrew the shah, are themselves fighting a losing battle against a population sufficiently roused to stage a new coup..." Obama is vulnerable on terror -- and he knows it: "Janet Napolitano, the Homeland Security chief – who prefers the term 'man-caused disasters' to 'terrorism' - blithely stated that there was 'no indication that it is part of anything larger'. She then insisted that the 'system is working'. Although Napolitano has taken a lot of flak for these comic utterances, she was not 'misspeaking' but trotting out the agreed talking points of the day....

     "There is a pattern in the Obama administration of dismissing Islamist terrorist attacks as regrettable random acts. In his radio address after Major Nidal Hassan's slaughtered 13 at Fort Hood, Texas, Obama made no mention of terrorism or militant Islam.... In June, Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad, a Muslim convert being watched by the FBI and who had previously travelled to Yemen, murdered a US Army recruit in Arkansas. That rated only a tepid statement by Obama about a 'senseless act of violence.'"

Clues left by Fort Hood shooter: "Nidal Malik Hasan was causing a ruckus in his one-bedroom apartment during the early hours of Nov. 5, banging against the thin walls long after midnight, packing boxes and shredding papers until he woke up the tenants next door.... Then Hasan visited another neighbor, a devout Christian, who looked at him quizzically when he handed her a copy of the Quran and recommended passages for her to read. 'In my religion,' Hasan told her, 'we'll do anything to be closer to God.' Just before the break of dawn in Killeen, Texas, Hasan... stopped for his customary breakfast.... Hasan approached the counter with coffee and hash browns at 6:22 a.m., wearing an Arab robe and a white kufi cap.
