Reported Christian 'martyr' deaths double in 2013: report: "Reported cases of Christians killed for their faith around the world doubled in 2013 from the year before, with Syria accounting for more than the whole global total in 2012.... The Open Doors report placed North Korea at the top of its list of 50 most dangerous countries for Christians, a position it has held since the annual survey began 12 years ago. Somalia, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan were the next four in line. ...radical Muslims were the main source of persecution in 36 countries on its list." See Preparing for Persecution

US army defines Christian ministry as domestic hate-group:  "Several dozen U.S. Army active duty and reserve troops were told last week that the American Family Association, a well-respected Christian ministry, should be classified as a domestic hate group because the group advocates for traditional family values. The briefing was held at Camp Shelby in Mississippi and listed the AFA alongside domestic hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan, Neo-Nazis, the Black Panthers and the Nation of Islam.

Rand Paul warns of war on Christianity:  "'...the war on Christianity is not making the headlines it should because the 'narrative is not convenient  to the establishment media.... 'The president tries to gloss over who’s attacking and killing Christians. The media describes the killings as ‘sectarian.’ But the truth, said the senator, is war is being waged on Christians 'by a fanatical element of Islam."

The BANNING OF CHRISTIANITY: "Today, in the United States where American citizens are theoretically protected by the Constitution, the persecution of anyone for their religious beliefs is a violation of constitutional law. Very clearly, the 1st Amendment of the Constitution says: 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...' Further, the Constitution assures us that we can worship as we choose without interference from the government.
"Yet that 'interference' happens 24-7 in every city, in every State, in the nation. And the U.S. Justice Department... has done nothing to protect those who are persecuted. Why? ... Sadly, Christians are no longer a protected class in America. Sadder yet is the fact that America rose to become the greatest nation in the history of mankind only because God blessed America for its witness of Him." See

Rising Persecution in the 'Land of the Free': "A 19-year Air Force veteran who was relieved of his duties because he disagreed with his openly gay commander over gay marriage is now facing a formal investigation.... Senior Master Sgt. Phillip Monk found himself at odds with his Lackland Air Force Base commander after he objected to her plans to severely punish an instructor who had expressed religious objections to homosexuality. '...
"The accusations against Monk are a court-martial offense in the Air Force – and it’s quite possible that the 19-year veteran with a spotless record could be booted out of the military because of his Christian beliefs.
"Steve Branson ...tells me that as many as a half dozen of his church members are currently facing persecution on the base for their religious beliefs."

Egypt Christians Urge Prayers As Clashes Kill 150, Churches Destroyed: "Egyptian Christians appealed for prayers Wednesday, August 14, as churches were attacked by furious Islamic mobs in response to a deadly government crackdown on protests in the capital Cairo that killed at least scores of people. In total at least some 150 people died and hundreds were injured in clashes across the country...after Egyptian security forces cleared out thousands of people at sit-ins demanding the return of ousted president Mohammed Morsi."

Putin says leaders should unite to end anti-Christian persecution: "Vladimir Putin said last week that he observes 'with alarm' that 'in many of the world’s regions, especially in the Middle East and in North Africa, inter-confessional tensions are mounting, and the rights of religious minorities are infringed, including Christians and Orthodox Christians.' ...

"[Putin] urged the international community to take steps towards preserving the rights of Christian people worldwide and preventing the violence that they suffer routinely in dozens of nations around the globe...

Note: Communism still reigns in Russia, and Putin -- like other pragmatic politicians -- might simply be using Christian sympathy for political gain. Time will tell whether or not his words are genuine.

Catholic Priest Beheaded in Syria by Al-Qaeda-Linked Rebels as Men and Children Take Pictures and Cheer: [Video] "...dozens of men and boys are seen cheering on as three men are seated on the ground awaiting their grisly fate. The men are methodically beheaded one at a time by men holding what appears to be a simple kitchen knife after which the heads are placed on top of the bodies."

Nigeria: Muslim group slaughters 30 in jihad attack on school, burning children alive: "Islamic militants attacked a boarding school in northeast Nigeria... killing 29 students and a teacher. Some of the pupils were burned alive.... Parents screamed in anguish as they tried to identify the charred and gunshot victims....

"When I woke up, someone was pointing a gun at me,' said 15-year-old Musa Hassan. 'They burned the children alive...'"

Egyptian Egg on Obama’s Face [by Michael Youssef]: "When Morsi ran for the presidency, Obama continued to support him, even when it was clear that the close election was rigged by dubious tactics.... When the Egyptian masses finally couldn’t take it anymore, 22 million people signed a petition to recall Morsi’s election—more than twice the number ok to the streets. The largest mass demonstration in human history.

"The Egyptian Army had tried on many occasions to mediate between President Morsi and the opposition. But Morsi autocratically and arrogantly refused to talk to anyone other than his masters in the Muslim Brotherhood headquarters.  ...while millions of Egyptians responded to Morsi’s ouster by joyfully dancing in the streets, the Muslim Brotherhood advisors in the White House helped Obama produce a non-descript statement. ...

"...thank God for the persecuted Christians in Egypt who have cried out to God while withstanding injustice during the reign of the Muslim Brotherhood. As a committed Christian, I believe God has heard their cries, even when President Obama covered his ears.ey have set an example for every harassed believer in the world, including in America, to pray and hope that God will hear our prayers."

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The Lord God is my strength...."

Punishment of Chick-fil - A loving soldier seen as hypocritical: "A retired Army chaplain sees hypocrisy in the fact that an 18-year Army veteran's career is now at risk because he served Chick-fil-A sandwiches in honor of the Defense of Marriage Act. The unidentified soldier was promoted to the rank of master sergeant last summer, an action that coincided with the controversy surrounding Chick-fil-A's support of traditional marriage and the hateful reaction from the left. So the sergeant threw a party to celebrate his promotion by serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches in honor of the federal Defense of Marriage Act."

Syrian Rebels Massacre Christian Village: "Numerous press reports are providing details of a massacre perpetrated by the Free Syrian Army that annihilated the entire population of a Christian village. ... 'The armed rebels affiliated to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) raided the Christian-populated al-Duvair village...and massacred all its civilian residents, including women and children.

"'The Syrian army, however, intervened and killed tens of terrorists during heavy clashes....'

"...in December.... Mr. Obama praised the opposition, known formally as the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces. ...7,000 members of an al-Qaeda front are acknowledged to be part of a US-backed coalition.  ...McCain’s and Obama’s purported 'right people' are busy massacring Christians." See Who shapes our conscience?

Holocaust of Christians in the Muslim World on the Horizon: "Arrests and deportations of Christians in Sudan are becoming more momentous in Bashir’s government.... As a church elder in Khartoum was praising God in his church, government officials from the Security Service (NISS) seized and interrogated him for information on Christian missionaries in North Sudan....  NISS is an Islamic gestapo, and they are doing the same sort of inquisition that the Nazis did before the holocaust."

Islam.  Why Do They Slaughter Their Victims?  "What is common to Daniel Perl, Nick Berg, a British soldier on London street, the Jews of Hebron...? They all were butchered. They were not simply stabbed to death, but were killed by an act designed to decapitate them or to cause fatal bleeding.... Another common denominator: all were slaughtered by Moslems. An endless list of Moslem girls and women can be added to them, those who were similarly slaughtered by their brothers, fathers or other relatives for 'violating the family honor'. A question that arises automatically is where does this Moslem tendency to this kind of slaughter come from?

"...slaughtering a Jew, a Christian or anyone seen as an enemy is not considered unusual in traditional Islamic societies. This is what professional jargon calls 'a cultural difference.'”

Obama Puts Christians in the Crosshairs: "In foreign affairs, where Obama could exert diplomatic leverage against foreign governments for failing to protect Christians from both property damage and murder, Obama commits sins of omission by pretending not to notice. Here in America, the persecution of Christians have decidedly entered the early stage and the Obama minions at DHS and his other agencies have begun demonize Christians....

Army Email Labels Christian Ministries as “Domestic Hate Groups”: "A U.S. Army officer sent an email to dozens of subordinates listing the American Family Association and Family Research Council as 'domestic hate groups' because they oppose homosexuality — and warned officers to monitor soldiers who might be supporters of the groups....

"Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, [said]... 'It’s very disturbing to see where the Obama Administration is taking the military and using it as a laboratory for social experimentation — and also as an instrument to fundamentally change the culture.'....

Pentagon moves to punish Christian evangelism in military: "Mikey Weinstein has been on a crusade for more than a decade against Christians in the military who speak about their faith with others.... After a private meeting between Weinstein and Pentagon officials April 23, a Pentagon spokesman declared, 'Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense.' ...

"Weinstein...told officials at the meeting that U.S. troops who evangelize are guilty of sedition and treason and should be punished, by the hundreds if necessary. Weinstein recently declared: “We face incredibly well-funded gangs of fundamentalist Christian monsters who terrorize their fellow Americans by forcing their weaponized and twisted version of Christianity upon their helpless subordinates..." The Evil of Human Trafficking in Sinai: "The Egyptian government knows that the clusters of concrete buildings dotting the Sinai desert are being used as torture chambers by human traffickers. ... Even when ransom is paid it is not uncommon to find that victims are subsequently sold on to other traffickers who repeat the process. Failure to pay will result in death by torture, including through the extraction of saleable organs....

Christian Girls Gang Raped in Egypt to Screams of ‘Allahu Akbar! "The video opens with Muslim men repeatedly shouting the word 'Nasara'—the Koran’s derogatory appellation for 'Christians'—as they identify two Coptic women who proceed to scream and run, only to be knocked to the ground by several Muslim men who savagely attack them, strip their clothing, and try to gang rape them. Throughout, the women scream in terror while the men shout 'Allahu Akbar,' that is, 'Allah is Great,' as well as chant the shehada, or Islamic profession of faith: 'There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the prophet of Allah.' None of the many passersby intervene..."

Egypt’s religious violence continues into Sunday: "Sunday's clashes began after hundreds of Christians left St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral to march following the funeral of Christians killed Saturday. Residents of the area pelted them with rocks and firebombs and fired birdshot, forcing them back inside the complex. Arriving police fired tear gas, with some canisters landing inside the cathedral grounds and causing panic while people outside the church cheered....

'The goal of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics...was the liquidation of religion and the means to achieve this goal included the destruction of churches...

"Many houses of worship were converted into bath houses, granaries and museums of atheism... while atheistic and anti-religious carnivals were frequently held to promote the mockery of religion and religious believers.... The League of Militant Atheists, founded in 1929, aided the Soviet government in murdering clergy and devout believers.... 'The Holocaust did it to the Jews...The Russians, they did it to a population.'....

Christians dubbed threat to 'national security': "The Libyan government has now arrested seven people for preaching the gospel and tortured at least one, claiming the missionaries are a threat to national security.... Muslim governments – most notably Iran’s – constantly suppress any talk of Christianity, claiming it threatens ‘our national security.’... In the last three years, over 3000 have been sent to tragic deaths.... Our government in Washington DC, especially the White House and the State Department are fully aware of what is going on. Egypt’s Christians fear ‘a season of blood’: "On a narrow dirt street, four police officers guard brick pillars rising from the mud. This was going to be a Coptic Christian community center — until ultra-Islamist Salafis seized it and declared it a Muslim mosque....

"...attacks — like crime in general — have risen in number and intensity since last year’s ouster of dictator Hosni Mubarak. Christian churches, homes and shops have been looted or torched; Christians have been forced to flee.... The post-Mubarak rise of the Salafis, who are akin to Saudi Arabia’s ultra-religious Wahhabis, frightens Christians and less-fanatical Muslims. On Friday, thousands of Salafis marched here to demand 'implementation of the Shariah...'

"Rushdy’s brother Ala’a owned a restaurant that was torched and a small cafeteria that was ransacked.... Twenty people were arrested: 12 Christians, including Rushdy’s brother, and eight Muslims. 'They...accused him of owning machine guns, but they didn’t find any,' Rushdy said.... At a trial nine months later, an Egyptian general called the charges nonsensical.... Yet Ala’a and the other Christians were convicted and given life sentences....  He dismisses the possibility of any help from the Obama administration: 'They didn’t do anything for their own ambassador, who was killed in Libya. What will they do for us?'” See Spiritual Warfare, Part 3: Hating Truth

Report on Intolerance Against Christians Submitted to UN Human Rights Commission: "Parents in Germany seeking to educate their children with a Christian worldview have been jailed and fined for trying to exempt their children from state-mandated sex education program, according to a report by the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians and submitted to the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). In at least three separate instances Christian parents were punished on the grounds that the government wanted to 'prevent parallel societies.'

"Homeschooling also remains illegal in Germany....The report describes numerous instances of German authorities using oppressive measures against Christians who act according to their religious and moral beliefs.... A mood of hostility in Germany toward Christianity comes across in the numerous instances of vandalism, destruction of property, and defamatory displays listed in the report."

Preschooler Banned from Lunch Prayer: "..a 12-year-old girl was told she couldn’t reference the Bible in her history report. The ACLJ informed the school district of the law and the Bible reference was allowed back into her classroom."

Christians facing arrests, detentions and court trials in Iran: "There has been an alarming upsurge in the harassment of Christians in Iran, with reports indicating an increase in arrests during recent weeks ....Please pray that those arrested and facing trial will remember the blessing they will receive for persevering (Hebrews 10:36). ... Pray that, whether imprisoned or free, they and other believers in Iran will seek to live boldly for Christ and share the Good News with others."

The Rape and Murder of Pakistan’s Christian Children: "...the West remains clueless concerning the graphic abuses—including rape and murder—Christian children in Pakistan routinely suffer, simply for being Christian. ...12-year-old Muqadas Kainat... was ambushed in a field near her home in Sahawil by five Muslim men who 'gang raped and murdered' her.... Police, as usual, did not arrest anyone....

'After extensive searching his body was found near a drain in the Christian colony, bearing marks of horrific torture... His nose, lips and belly had been sliced off, and his family could hardly recognize him because the body was so badly burnt....

"Parts of Pakistani culture have a strong homosexual pederast culture, and Christian and other minority boys are especially susceptible to rape and abuse because of the powerlessness of their community and their despised status. Western governments and oil-rich Sunni Arab regimes [and Muslim Brotherhood] are hoping to oust the Assad dictatorship using mostly proxies on the ground. As a result, an estimated 100,000 Christians have fled or are preparing to flee the country.... Calls for Christians to be killed with some of them reportedly crucified on trees are the new reality of the Egyptian government under a Muslim Brotherhood president and a legislature run by not only the Brotherhood but also the extreme Islamist Salafists....

Christian boy tortured and killed in Pakistan: "The tortured body of an 11 year old Christian boy has been found in a town in Punjab, Pakistan, days after a young Christian girl was arrested on blasphemy charges. ...Detectives in Faisalabad, around 60 miles from Lahore, said they were investigating whether accusations of blasphemy had also been made against the boy. Human rights campaigners condemned the killing of Samuel Yaqoob whose burned and tortured body body was discovered on Eid, the celebration which marks the end of the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan. / His lips and nose had been sliced off, his stomach removed and there was evidence that his legs had been mutilated too. The boy had been missing since Monday when he left his home in the town's Christian Colony to visit a local market."
