 Spiritual Warfare - Part 10

God's Beloved Land & People

Familiar with Hatred, War, Persecution and Victory

By Berit Kjos - September 24, 2012

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ...." (2 Co 10:4-6).

"The terrible truth is that when you remove God from a society, you remove the basis for a moral code; and when men live without a moral code, they live in violence and sin."[1] John Noble, I Found God in Soviet Russia

Today, Israel stands alone. But thank God, Netanyahu has the wisdom and courage to take a stand, trust His Lord, and fight the evil that surround His ancient nation.

Who will stand with Netanyahu? Not Obama or Kerry! Not our corrupted America! Not the threatening nations that surround God's people and seek its demise! Not the mainstream media! Not Palestine which has received food and finances from the nation its hates. Not Syria, whose victims of war where given food and care in Israel's hospitals.

All those nations would love to see the demise of Israel! But God is far greater than any human force, and Netanyahu knows it!

Keep in mind, spiritual warfare is nothing new. Ever since Eve bit the forbidden apple and shared it with Adam (that's not simply a myth) the forces of darkness have raged through the lands and ravaged the people who despised our God.

"Why do the nations rage, and the people plot [conspire] a vain thing? ... the rulers take counsel together...saying, 'Let us break Their bonds in pieces...'" Psalm 2:1-3

A Brief History of God's Chosen People

Israel's past  is nothing to boast of. It's early history sounds like a roller coaster:  faithful to God in one generation, corrupt in the next,  and destroyed by its enemies in the following decades.  But the crushing wars and famines brought God's people to repentance, and like the standard patterns in many other nations, God restored the land and the bounties of its harvest, then blessed the people once again.

During those old-testament years, God allowed Israel's destruction. Centuries later, Israel would be called Palestine. There was always a remnant of Jews in the land, but it wasn't their land anymore. And God didn't restore until 1947???. And before the scattered Jews regained their homeland, a new set of terrors undermined hope for peace. (See Chronology of Persecution: The Nazi/Arab plots to exterminate Jews)

It's hard to even phantom the horrors God's people would endure before Israel would again be there homeland:

1941-1945. Adolf Eichmann ruled the Department of Jewish Affairs in Nazi Germany. Sharing al-Husseini's hatred, he would oversee the transport of 3 million Jews to concentrations camps both in Germany in Nazi-occupied Europe. He also wrote glowing reports of the Nazi ideals embraced by Arabs: "Nazi flags fly in Palestine and they adorn their houses with Swastikas and portraits of Hitler."[p.61]

1939-1945. [The Nazi killing machine] "Auschwitz, which wasn't purely a 'death camp,' lives on in our memory due in large part to those who lived to tell the tale....
Nearly half of the millions of Jews killed by the Germans died in lands taken from the Soviets. In the territory that the Nazis occupied in 1939, the extermination started later. The innovation was the gas chamber in the main 'death factories' at Treblinka, Chelmno, Belzec, Majdanekand Sobibor, which took in Jews only to kill them.
...at Birkenau, near Auschwitz, in early 1943, more than three-quarters of the Jews killed in the Holocaust, and most Soviet and Polish Jews, were already dead."  Matthew Kaminski, "How Stalin and then Hitler turned the borderlands of Eastern Europe into killing fields"[1].

1947.  "The 'Exodus 1947' was a worn-out U.S.-owned coastal passenger ship launched in 1928. ....Initially sold as scrap for slightly more than $8,000, the ship was acquired by the Hagana [an "underground" Jewish military organization -- since Jews had neither a nation nor any rights, they had no legal "organizations"]....
"In July 1947, the [old 'Exodus 1947' left] for Palestine with over 4,500 Jewish men, women, and children, all displaced persons (DPs) or survivors of the Holocaust. Even before the ship... reached Palestine's territorial waters, British destroyers surrounded it....Attempting to make an example of the 'Exodus 1947,'the British transferred the passengers onto three navy transports which returned to Europe....
"When the passengers, including many orphaned children, forced the issue by declaring a hunger strike, the British were forced to return them to Hamburg in the British-occupied zone of Germany. Amid worldwide public outrage, the British authorities compelled the passengers to disembark; some were forcibly removed from the ship. The passengers were then transferred to displaced persons camps in Germany.

"Displaced persons in camps all over Europe protested vociferously and staged hunger strikes when they heard the news. Large protests erupted on both sides of the Atlantic. The ensuing public embarrassment for Britain played a significant role in the diplomatic swing of sympathy toward the Jews and the eventual recognition of a Jewish state in 1948.

Israel under attack again but prepared to defend herself

The deadly battle is no longer hidden and obscure. We read about countless rockets, "a massive tunnel system" created to undermine Israel, ignite terror, and -- once again -- destroy God's people.

As Americans, we may find it hard to comprehend the horrors of such persecution. After all, we learned early to be kind to each other, and few of us have faced the murderous rage of Israel's foes. But according to....

"Hamas" is an Arabic acronym for "Islamic Resistance Movement." It published its official charter in 1988, calling for the destruction of Israel and raising "the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine."
"The founder of Hamas reflects the attitudes of many in Palestine. They believe that God condemned Jewish people as "apes and swine" (Qur'an 5:60; see 2:65, 7:166). They are convinced that they must attack the Jewish state and its people in defense of Islam (Qur'an 2:190) and to "fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them" (Qur'an 9:5).
"They believe that Abraham offered Ishmael rather than Isaac to God, making Ishmael's Arab descendants the "chosen people." They believe that God intends Palestine only for Palestinians, and that the creation of Israel in 1948 is a theft of land from its rightful owners.
"And those who die battling the Jews are martyrs-- promised eternity in paradise.

Millions of tax dollars are being used-- not to help the Palestinians, but to develop and perfect a terrorist infrastructure to continue their attack on Israel. 62% of Palestinians in Gaza support suicide bombings to kill Jews.

Gaza (and the West Bank) have everything they need for an economic boom to lift their people out of poverty.

They could rise to be as prosperous as, if not more than, Israel but they are a third world nation because of a socialist government controlled economy not because of Israel.

There is no free market. Instead, Hamas has turned to collectivism–its system of micromanagement and excessive taxes that lead to high unemployment and poverty.

Frankly, between the repressive regulations, who would want to invest and take the risk when the country is under Hamas’ control with one objective–the destruction of Israel.

   5. The media and social media is biased and distorting the truth

The liberal press and social media have used the victories of Hamas–the Palestinians–as their visual on TV and social media.

Horrible human tragedy is displayed without showing both sides of the story.

The Hamas strategy is to parade the bodies of the dead before TV cameras to prove how bad Israel is.

Hamas put the rockets where women and children are – including schools and hospitals. However, the press never asks the question, “ Why are children put in harms’ way of rockets and tunnel systems?”

Here is a must see video--you can see how the Israeli Ambassador blasts CNN for its biased reporting.

Dr. Paul de Vries, president of the New York Divinity School said, "The media tries to paint this as two forces that we have to bring together and try to resolve their differences. One is terroristic and the other supports the core biblical values of life, liberty and justice. There really is no problem choosing sides between Hamas and Israel." "The Palestinian people are the ones we love, along with the people of Israel, but the abuse by the tyrannical leaders of the Palestinians is just incalculable."

"In Israel the basic human rights are respected, right to life, right to freedom of religion," says de Vries. "The Hamas embodies a mentality of death and is against liberty, against the lives of their own people, and against freedom of religion."

De Vries continues to state that Hamas has continued to “torture, abuse and murder of Palestinian Christian ministers and leaders whom they have known. The only country in the Middle East where there is freedom of religion is Israel."

6. The UN is a joke

Different groups within the United Nations have condemned Israel. The U.N. Security Council has demanded an “immediate and unconditional” cease-fire.

Let’s face it, when you have brutal dictatorships and anti-Israeli countries in the Middle East and other parts of the world, it’s no surprise the U.N. doesn’t like Israel’s defending itself.

Hamas rockets were discovered in U.N. sponsored schools.

They didn’t know?

Did they destroy them?

No, the U.N. returned the rockets to Hamas – to be used against Israeli civilians.

7. The U.S. is helping fund the madness

The U.S. has been funding the Palestinian Authorities with about $5 billion in assistance since the mid-1990s.

Senator Rand Paul has sponsored a bill that would prohibit direct U.S. assistance, loan guarantee or debt relief to the Palestinian Authority if it was at all affiliated with Hamas.

But the liberal Democrats have blocked it.

This aid funding terrorists’ salaries and activities MUST stop.

Check out this video. Is the U.S. administration turning its back on Israel?

8. The world against Israel? Anti-Semitism on the rise

The Liberals oppose Israel. The Muslims oppose Israel. The media opposes Israel.

And so do those who hate Jews.

From the beginning of history…through the ages…from the death and crucifixion of Jesus…through the ages past…through recent history…anti-Semitism has sought to extinct the Jews.

Lies. Distortions. Hatred.

All against the Jews…well because they are Jews.

In America’s cities and across the world there have been protests and even riots.

There have been riots in Paris. Jewish stores have been ransacked. Websites have come up calling for a second Holocaust and attacks on synagogues.

In Berlin, crowds chanted, “Jew, Jew, cowardly pig, come on out and fight.”

The hatred is being stirred up.

Just visit a local college campus!

And, of course, Hamas feeds on this.

They released a music video in Hebrew calling for the Palestinians to bomb Israel and kill the Jews: “Burn it to the ground, exterminate the cockroaches nest, and banish all the Zionists”.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginationsc, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." (2 Co 10:3-6).

Berit you said:

What a time we live in, Maria! I feel so badly for the younger generations. We are getting old, but they will face problems and terrors that we can hardly imagine. I truly wonder if we might soon face the end times with all its horrors. After all, globalism is here, and with the UN agendas and America's open borders, there doesn't seem to be any hiding places."

I think that we are indeed heading for the end times, with all of its trauma and suffering. And, like you, I feel badly for the younger generations. Not only will they face unthinkable things, but they are so unprepared to face anything difficult at all. They don't know how to think logically. They don't have common sense. They are into occultism and drugs etc. And even the ones who call themselves Christians mostly don't have much real understanding of Christianity or of Jesus Christ, because there are so few real pastors out there, and so few churches that really believe the Bible.
