To further illustrate my point, check out this article:

e-Passports: Ready or not here they come

The State Department expresses confidence in "e-Passports" while technologists fret about their security risks. Imagine being overseas and your identity being available for the taking - your nationality, your name, your passport number. Everything! (1)

One of the primary fears in the security arena is that these RFID passports can be hacked for information about you. And even if they can't, do you know that you are carrying around a little transmitter saying 'I'm an American! I'm an American!' Now isn't that a fun and safe thing to do in many parts of the world?

From another article regarding the same issue:

Bruce Sterling, who lectures on the future of RFID technology, said this about the new e-Passport.

"Basically, you've given everybody a little radio-frequency doodad that silently declares 'Hey, I'm a foreigner, If nobody bothers to listen, great. If people figure out they can listen to passport IDs, there will be a lot of strange and inventive ways to exploit that for criminal purposes.'" (2)

For those of you who do not know, RFID chips are those little rice sized chips that they implant in your pets and who many feel might be the precursor to the Mark of the beast talked about in Revelation 13 : 16 -18, myself included.

No matter where we turn, news is everywhere coming from a bible prophecy perspective.

But wait, what about this?

In Houston there is a billboard features Jesus holding a can of Budweiser, with the words "King of Jews" and "King of Beers" on it.(3)

Can you believe that??

“Officials from the company that leases the billboard said they are not sure who put together the caption on a poster and pasted it on their billboard.” (3)

Well my question is… why is it still up there???

You know if it was any other religion that was portrayed on that billboard there would be literal chaos in the streets, demonstrating for the lack of tolerance. But because it is Christians and Jews, hey… that is ok, fair game for them.

Something else we know for certain, is that Jesus spoke about these thing while addressing the question posed by the disciples regarding the last days.

Mark 13:8 "For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.

If you are a serious student of Bible Prophecy you know that the next major event in the prophetic timeline is the destruction of Damascus.

I point out all these news items out; showing that these are the signs of the time and that we are living in the last days. It seems pretty clear, right? The prophecy, apostles and even Christ himself spoke of these things.

If all those are coming to pass like the bible foretold then here is a future headline.

EXTRA EXTRA… READ ALL ABOUT IT… Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it’s a ruinous heap.

Isaiah 17:1  The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Here is an interesting point… Israel did not exist in Isaiah's day when he wrote this prophecy. In fact the kingdom of Israel was destroyed a century before by Sargon. Israel has not existed as a nation; that is until May 14, 1948 where it became a nation once again. So this prophecy, written by Isaiah, could not have come to pass; that is until there was a nation of Israel once again. Another point I would like to make, and this one is a pretty no nonsense fact, Isaiah 17 has not come to pass because Damascus is still around. (duh) I just wanted to point that out. At least at the writing of this article, Damascus was still a city. Another quick fact, Damascus is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world too.

As we know and as the news is also reporting, Syria and Iran are behind all this activity that is going on in the Middle East. In fact Syria is really doing some saber rattling trying to position themselves at the negotiation table. They want to be seen as a serious player in the game instead of lying in the shadow of Iran.

We know through history that Damascus has been a thorn in Israel’s side for a long time. Isaiah even speaks about it in regards to Israel’s future

Isaiah 17:1,4 And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean."

In all that is taking place, Israel gets tired of Damascus. Damascus pushes and pushes, taunts and harasses Israel. Finally Israel takes action…

Isaiah 17:14 "And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us."

Albert Barnes Notes on the Bible breaks the verse down as follows…

Isaiah 17:14 -

At evening-tide trouble - In the time of evening - that is, in the night.

Before the morning he is not - That is, he is destroyed.

This is the portion of them that spoil us - Of those who would plunder us. This is a “general” declaration in regard to the enemies of the Jewish people. This is the lot, the end, the destiny of all who attempt to destroy them. That is, the people of God shall be safe whoever rises up against them; and whatever may be the number, or the power of their foes, they shall be overthrown.

I just wanted to illustrate that for you from another’s point of view. That point is, Damascus is going to be wiped off the map.

In simple words what we see here in Isaiah 17:14 is an overnight destruction of Damascus.

What can destroy a city overnight?

Yep you guessed it… nukes.

The probability of Israel using nuclear weapons is more and more likely with every drop of sand in the hour glass.

The interesting point is that Israel was warned time and time again about her neighbors. Israel was warned in the days of old and the warning still holds today.

Numbers 33:55 says, "But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell."

God also states in Judges 2:2-3, "And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you."

What God has painted here is a 3-D Technicolor, 70 mm, Dolby picture which is as plain as the nose on my face. …

Israel is going to be taking care of some unfinished business big time.

But here is something to ponder in the bigger picture of things.  All of these events,  ALL OF IT is happening at precisely the same point in history, under the precise geopolitical situation existing in this generation (to the exclusion of all generations prior to 1948) all leading to the exact outcome foretold by the prophets. (4)

Folks Bible Prophecy claims 100% accuracy, 100% of the time, past, present and future. No other sacred writings among the world's religions can make these similar claims. Only the Bible can and only the Bible can stand on this pure fact. It is the truth. (4)

So, keep a pretty close eye on what is taking place over there. Don’t be surprised to hear it on TV from Fox News or read it on the front page of USA Today that Damascus is no more and soon there will be a very large Wal-Mart in its place.

The Bible is real and the God of the Bible is a loving caring personal God. He sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for us and to atone for our sins.

Here is what God’s Word says…

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Rom 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rev 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

I would encourage you to not delay in receiving Christ as you Savior today if you have not already done so. He died for your sins, and rose from the dead. He offers you eternal life, but that's your choice to make. I hope you will consider doing that today.

Sinners Prayer:

Father in Heaven, I know that I am a sinner in need of a savior. I need your forgiveness through Jesus Christ who died on the cross just for me to cover the sins that I have committed against you. Please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. I want to live for you Lord Jesus and from this day forward be known as a Child of God. Thank you for forgiving my sins and coming into my life, in Jesus’ wonderful name. Amen

If you are a Christian, but have fallen away from the Lord, come back to Him. Our Heavenly Father is a good and loving Father. Just ask and commune with Him. You see, He never left your side, we just left Him. Reach out and renew your relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior today.

I leave you with this verse

Luke 21:28  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
