CATEGORY . Alien nation: The new census reveals a Britain that would be unrecognisable even to our grandparents: The Census is not just a description of the state of things on a day in 2011, it is a prophetic document telling us where we are going, whether we like it or not. I don’t. For the past 60 years or so, we have lived in a nation that was more or less familiar to anyone who had grown up in the pre-war Britain of 1939. Even the devastation of conflict had not transformed it out of recognition. People behaved, thought, worked, laughed and enjoyed themselves much as they had done for decades. ...

And they had grown up in a land that was still identifiably the same as their grandparents had known. And so it went back for centuries. As recently as 1949, the prices of most goods were roughly the same, and expressed in the same money, as the prices of 1649. A short-distance time-traveller between 1912 and 2012 might be perplexed and astonished, but he would not be lost. That period is now coming to an end. I suspect that anyone in Britain, travelling between 2012 and 2112 would be unable to believe that he was in the same place. What is the most significant single fact in the Census? I do not think there is one. Several are shocking or disturbing, if you are not fond of change, and delightful if you are. ...

... in the nation that was once the ‘Workshop of the World’, we now have more teachers than industrial workers. .... Then of course there is the decline in Christianity, down by four million, from 72 per cent to 59 per cent; the growth in indifference to religion, with non-believers almost doubling to 14.1 million; and also of Islam, rising so fast that one British resident in 20 is now a Muslim. The Muslim population is young, and keen on large families, while the Christian population tends to be older and less likely to have children. ... For the first time, fewer than half of adults are married....

This means many things – a greater number of fatherless households, a greater number of cohabiting couples, the rapid disappearance of what was once a strong social force. Since the stable married family is a fortress of private life and individuality, its retreat will mean the opposite of that: more state interference and surveillance, more conformism – and more conformists – and mass culture. Its main effect will be on the children. Many of them will grow up outside what used to be normal, a lifelong two-parent home. ....

Bit by bit, the people of this country are ceasing to have key things in common. They don’t share a religion, or a culture, or a history. Many don’t even share a language. They don’t eat the same food or watch the same TV stations or have a common sense of humour. They sometimes even disagree about whether to drive on the left.....

They come from completely different legal and political traditions.... many of the new Britons are more socially and morally conservative than their indigenous British neighbours, though their presence here is a sort of revolution in flesh and blood..... We are also becoming a more violent, noisy and unrestrained culture, more drunk, more drugged, more indebted, more rootless and less particular. .... See ARTICLE

Remember ancient Israel. Its times of peace, prosperity and freedom under God's guidelines were rare. More often than not, the idolatrous nation face murderous onslaughts from the stronger nations that surrounded them -- or deadly times of famine, disease and deception from within.

Do you see its ominous similarity to America today? It may be hard to compare, because we see Israel's historical timeline from a distant perspective, while we live in the midst of our own rapid slide into moral and spiritual corruption. So once again, let's look at a slice of ancient history that helps us understand what is happening today.

The human enemies that God used to discipline His beloved people were usually cruel, powerful, idol-worshippers who had no love for God nor sympathy for His people.  But Israel turned from their wicked ways, God quenched the enemy and brought peace to the land -- for a season!   You probably remember this familiar promise:

"...if My people who are alled by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Ch 7:14)

America today: Don't offend Islam!

"New Army Manual Orders Soldiers Not To Criticize

Taliban, pedophilia, 'anything related to Islam.'"

That's by order of the Obama administration. But there's a problem! Radical Muslims -- whether El Quada, the Muslim Brotherhood, or any other militant group intent on establishing a Global Caliphate -- despise America's heritage and refuse to assimilate. Who will yield? America? Europe? Actually, the latter already has!

Let's take a closer look at the soon-to-be-released Army handbook -- the "New Army Manual." Though still being drafted, a mainstream newspaper got a sneak preview and published an article with the following excerpt

"The new U.S. military handbook for troops deployed to the Middle East orders soldiers not to make derogatory comments about the Taliban or criticize pedophilia, among other Islamic things. Mass beheadings, gendercide, gassing of girls' schools, mass slaughter of non-believers and less than devout Muslims, attacks on US soldiers, acid attacks on women, brutal burka enforcement .... must not be criticzed....

"...the new manual, which is around 75 pages, suggests that Western ignorance of Afghan culture— not Taliban infiltration—is responsible for the increase in deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the coalition forces.

The soon-to-be-released Army handbook is still being drafted, but a mainstream newspaper got a sneak preview and published an article, ....Under Obama practically every major federal agency has been ordered to participate in Muslim outreach initiatives, including the Justice Department with a special program to protect Islamic civil rights, Homeland Security meetings with extremist Muslim organizations and the nation’s space agency (NASA) with an unprecedented mission to focus on Muslim diplomacy. Our plight is quite similar to ancient Israel when threatened by opposing forces:

And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captainb of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem: 9 And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man’s house burnt he with fire. 10 And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about. 11 Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitivesc that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away. 12 But the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land."  (2 Ki 25:8-12)

Barna Survey Examines Changes in Worldview Among Christians over the Past 13 Years (March 6, 2009):  For the purposes of the survey, a “biblical worldview” was defined as

Overall, the current research revealed that only 9% of all American adults have a biblical worldview. Among the sixty subgroups of respondents that the survey explored was one defined by those who said they have made a personal to commitment to Jesus Christ that is important in their life today and that they are certain that they will go to Heaven after they die only because they confessed their sins and accepted Christ as their savior....

The same questions were asked of respondents in national surveys by Barna in 1995, 2000 and 2005. The results indicate that the percentage of adults with a biblical worldview, as defined above, has remained unchanged for more than a decade. The numbers show that 7% had such a worldview in 1995, compared to ... 9% now....

Varying numbers of Americans embrace the different aspects of biblical worldview thinking. The survey found that:

0 And jthe fear of the Lord fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they did not make war against Jehoshaphat. 11 Also some of the Philistines kbrought Jehoshaphat presents and silver as tribute; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred male goats.
The New King James Version. 1982 (2 Ch 17:10-11). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.

Then vthe Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. 15 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: w‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, xfor the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the 4brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. 17 yYou will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, zfor the Lord is with you.”
18 And Jehoshaphat abowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. 19 Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high.
20 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: bBelieve in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, cand who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:
d“Praise the Lord,
eFor His mercy endures forever.”
22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, fthe Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they 5had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, gthey helped to destroy one another.
The New King James Version. 1982 (2 Ch 20:14-23). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.

And they intend to force all of us to embrace their beliefs and values -- or face death.

It happened after this that the people of aMoab with the people of bAmmon, and others with them besides the cAmmonites, 1came to battle against Jehoshaphat. 2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from 2Syria; and they are din Hazazon Tamar” (which is eEn Gedi). 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set 3himself to fseek the Lord, and gproclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 4 So Judah gathered together to ask hhelp from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.
5 Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, 6 and said: “O Lord God of our fathers, are You not iGod in heaven, and jdo You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and kin Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? 7 Are You not lour God, who mdrove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham nYour friend forever? 8 And they dwell in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, 9 o‘If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your pname is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save.’ 10 And now, here are the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir—whom You qwould not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but rthey turned from them and did not destroy them— 11 here they are, rewarding us sby coming to throw us out of Your possession which You have given us to inherit. 12 O our God, will You not tjudge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but uour eyes are upon You.”
13 Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, stood before the Lord.
14 Then vthe Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. 15 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat!
