As much as he’d like to make you think he wasn’t, the Devil-Satan-Lucifer is real and at one time was the most beautiful angel ever created by God. He became obsessed with his beauty and pride, ego and selfishness set in. He believed he could actually become God and wanted the same power and worship of God. So he was cast to Earth, with what the bible says was “One third of angel left heaven” and the two thirds remained. We don’t know or have any clue how many angels God created, but we know Lucifer and his fallen ones are at work on the Earth this very minute.
Throughout history there are records of these fallen angels, who masquerade as many different things. Ghosts, Religious Icons, Oracles, and recorded throughout history and even into modern times, “indwellers” into people whose bodies become possessed by unknown spirits.
Sometimes, they simply harass you by shouting supernatural thoughts into your head, to get you to act on impulse or make knowingly bad decisions. Other times it’s when things don’t go right and strange or bad things happen to you or the ones you love- that just doesn’t make any sense. And sometimes, they manipulate others to “attack” you via words, emotions or even physically.
It can be a scary thought and hard for those to conceive if you don’t know God or if you don’t believe that God is watching over you and wants you to love and follow him. He wants you to come to him in prayer and He will send the Holy Spirit to protect you.
Once you know the source of the evil attacking, surround or trying to influence you or a loved one, there are ways of dealing with it.
First is prayer. At the bottom of these verses we’ll be suggesting a book to purchase and read from a Christian book store or online bookstore. We suggest if you’re interested in Spiritual warfare, get the book and most importantly, get involved in a good teaching Church that believes in Deliverance from spiritual bondage.
Next, what we are lining out and giving you is a self-deliverance prayer and when you pray this- believe in your heart and mind that God is acting on these words in your life here on Earth and in Heaven.
Take a moment to write down all the sins you’ve felt you’ve done in your life on one side of a sheet of paper (it doesn’t have to be super detailed)… then on the other side of the sheet of paper, right down something Good to replace it with. For example: Bad = Lying / Good = honesty and keep that paper handy for the next step.
You can pray like this…. Start with a prayer of “Thanks to God for all the Good he’s done in your life that you do know about and even the good that you don’t know about,” then ask God and Jesus to forgive you of your sins (read off the sins/bad on your paper)- and list the ones you can think of- and mention “even the sin’s I’ve done that I am unaware of.”
The next step is to rebuke, renounce and break the bondage and ties to Satan, Lucifer and the fallen Angels and Demons trying to influence you (or your loved ones) and take spiritual authority in the name of Jesus who dies and gave his blood so our sins can be forgiven… and say “I believe the promise of Jesus that my sins are forgiven and I ask the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God Almighty to come into my heart and fill me with peace and love.” Your prayer is almost over… next, take that piece of paper and say “ Where there was sin in my life, I believe the lord is replacing in me…” and then read the “Good” side of your paper.
After that… say, “I believe Lord in your promises of forgiveness and I am free from the wiles of Lucifer and his demons and I am protected by the Holy Spirit and Gods Army of Heavenly angels” and then Thank God for his grace and forgiveness… then read some of these bible verses below for spiritual warfare out loud… (especially Ephesians 6:10-18) and end with, “I believe I am free in the name of Jesus the Holy Spirit and God Almighty who fills my body, heart, mind, spirit and soul… Amen”
Congrats!!! You’ve just done Spiritual Warfare called “Self Deliverance”
Deuteronomy 3: 22
You shall not fear them, for the Lord your
God shall fight for you.
2 Samuel 22: 3-4
My God, my Rock, in Him will I take refuge;
my Shield and the Horn of my salvation; my
Stronghold and my Refuge, my Savior–You save
me from violence. I call on the Lord, Who is
worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my
enemies.
Psalm 144: 1
Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my keen and
firm Strength, Who teaches my hands to war
and my fingers to fight
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
and every tongue which raises against you in
judgment you shall condemn. This is the
heritage of the servants of the LORD, and
their righteousness is from Me,” says the
LORD.
Isaiah 59: 19
So [as the result of the Messiah's
intervention] they shall [reverently] fear
the name of the Lord from the west, and His
glory from the rising of the sun. When the
enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit
of the Lord will lift up a standard against
him and put him to flight [for He will come
like a rushing stream which the breath of
the Lord drives].
Matthew 4:10
Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For
it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God,
and serve him only.’ ”
Matthew 25:41
“Then he will say to those on his left,
‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into
the eternal fire prepared for the devil and
his angels.”
Luke 10:19
Behold, I give you the authority to trample
on serpents and scorpions, and over all the
power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any
means hurt you.
1 Corinthians 15: 57
But thanks be to God, Who gives us the
victory [making us conquerors] through our
Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 2: 14
But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always
leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's
victory] and through us spreads and makes
evident the fragrance of the knowledge of
God everywhere.
2 Corinthians 10: 3-4
For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we
are not carrying on our warfare according to
the flesh and using mere human weapons. For
the weapons of our warfare are not physical
[weapons of flesh and blood], but they are
mighty before God for the overthrow and
destruction of strongholds.
Ephesians 6:10-18
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his
mighty power. Put on the full armor of God,
so that you can take your stand against the
devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not
against flesh and blood, but against the
rulers, against the authorities, against the
powers of this dark world and against the
spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly
realms. Therefore put on the full armor of
God, so that when the day of evil comes, you
may be able to stand your ground, and after
you have done everything, to stand. Stand
firm then, with the belt of truth buckled
around your waist, with the breastplate of
righteousness in place, and with your feet
fitted with the readiness that comes from
the gospel of peace. In addition to all
this, take up the shield of faith, with
which you can extinguish all the flaming
arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of
salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit
on all occasions with all kinds of prayers
and requests. With this in mind, be alert
and always keep on praying for all the
Lord’s people.
Ephesians 6: 11-12
Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a
heavy-armed soldier which God supplies],
that you may be able successfully to stand
up against [all] the strategies and the
deceits of the devil. For we do not wrestle
against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this age, against
spiritual hosts of wickedness in the
heavenly places.)
Ephesians 6: 14
Stand therefore [hold your ground], having
tightened the belt of truth around your
loins and having put on the breastplate of
integrity and of moral rectitude and right
standing with God.
Colossians 2: 15
[God] disarmed the principalities and powers
that were ranged against us and made a bold
display and public example of them, in
triumphing over them in Him and in it [the
cross].
1 Timothy 6: 12
Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold
of the eternal life to which you were
summoned and [for which] you confessed the
good confession [of faith] before many
witnesses.
2 Timothy 4: 7
I have fought the good (worthy, honorable,
and noble) fight, I have finished the race,
I have kept (firmly held) the faith.
2 Timothy 4: 18
[And indeed] the Lord will certainly deliver
and draw me to Himself from every assault of
evil. He will preserve and bring me safe
unto His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the
glory forever and ever. Amen (so be it).
James 4: 7
So be subject to God. Resist the devil
[stand firm against him], and he will flee
from you.
1 Peter 5: 8-9
Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind),
be vigilant and cautious at all times; for
that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around
like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger],
seeking someone to seize upon and devour.
Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his
onset--rooted, established, strong,
immovable, and determined], knowing that the
same (identical) sufferings are appointed to
your brotherhood (the whole body of
Christians) throughout the world.
1 John 4:4
You are of God, little children, and have
overcome them, because He who is in you is
greater than he who is in the world.
1 John 5:4-5
For whatever is born of God overcomes the
world. And this is the victory that has
overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who
overcomes the world, but he who believes
that Jesus is the Son of God?
Above we mentioned a book if you were interested in learning more about Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare. One of our suggested books is called “Pigs in the Parlor: The Practical Guide to Deliverance” By Frank and Ida Mae Hammond.
This is a great book for learning about the topic, some of the history on the topic, other ways of self-deliverance and also being involved in the deliverance of others (even though we’d suggest that you not try that by yourself, and have a trained pastoral staff with you- it can be dangerous for yourself and/or the other person if not done totally correctly).
