Congress authorizes federal government to collect and use all private communications by U.S. citizens: "A House Republican is criticizing a piece of legislation just passed by Congress as grossly unconstitutional because it essentially gives the federal government and local law enforcement 'unlimited access to the communications of every American.'

Obama calls for strict regulation of Internet providers in intense push for net neutrality laws: "The President on Monday urged the Federal Communications Commission to ban arrangements that would allow companies to pay providers for speedier delivery of their content, saying that there shouldn't be ‘fast lanes’ on the Internet.... FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler, an Obama friend and former financial supporter, has floated rules that would allow companies to pay to get priority for their content. The proposal, released by the agency in May, drew 4 million comments, most of them critical....

Pentagon Bans Soldiers Access To “Hostile” Christian Website: "It seems... that the Pentagon believes that our troops have agreed for the duration of their enlistment not only to give up speech, but also to give up thought. How else can one explain the Pentagon’s decision to deny its troops internet access to the website for the Southern Baptist Convention (“SBC”) on the ground that this evangelical Christian site contains “hostile content”?
