Green for Green: Taxpayers Fork Out For Algae Fuel: "The Obama administration has been outspoken in support of using algae as a fuel. But at what cost? ...Over $21.7 million of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act money has already been awarded to one particular company, Solazyme, in order to continue working on converting algae into fuel.

     "...the cost of the ‘green’ bio-fuel for the Navy is $26.75 per gallon... the standard fuel costs roughly $4 per gallon. While all this algae fuel adds up to an expensive tab for the taxpayer, more government spending may soon be on its way....[Obama's] 2013 budget proposal contains $27.2 billion in discretionary funds for the Department of Energy....White House budget documents calls for, 'A 3.2 percent increase above the 2012 enacted level." A climate of fraud: New emails shed light on the global warming racket: "The latest release of 5,000 emails from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) reconfirms what the 2009’s 'Climategate' files established: Global warming is more fiction than science....'We need to communicate the uncertainty and be honest.' Nonsense, another concluded: 'The trick may be to decide on the main message and use that to guide what’s included and what is left out.' 'But what if the whole warming phenomenon is 'mainly a multi-decadal natural fluctuation?' one scientists muses....

      "...this field’s activists have spent years lobbying governments to reorganize whole economies based on the sketchy results of their highly debatable models. ...the big decisions are made at the eleventh hour by a select core group,' one scientist wrote, noting in another email that 'the science is being manipulated to put a political spin on it...'  Those who disagreed with the warmist agenda were systematically excluded from high-level documents like the now-discredited 2007 report by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). What's Down with the Sun? Glacier scientist: I knew data hadn't been verified: "The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders. Dr Murari Lal also said he was well aware the statement, in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), did not rest on peer-reviewed scientific research." U.S. embraces Copenhagen pact: "...the Obama Administration formally embraced the Copenhagen Accord on global warming on Thursday.... U.S. climate envoy Todd Stern gave notice to the United Nations that the country will aim for a 17 percent emissions cut in carbon dioxide and other gases blamed for global warming.... "Graham said the nuclear and oil drilling initiatives would not advance in the Senate without dealing with emissions."

No smoking hot spot: [Australia] "I devoted six years to carbon accounting, building models for the Australian Greenhouse Office. I am the rocket scientist who wrote the carbon accounting model (FullCAM) that measures Australia's compliance with the Kyoto Protocol.... But...'When the facts change, I change my mind.'... The world has spent $50 billion on global warming since 1990, and we have not found any actual evidence that carbon emissions cause global warming.... Computer models and theoretical calculations are not evidence, they are just theory.

      "What is going to happen over the next decade as global temperatures continue not to rise? The Labor Government is about to deliberately wreck the economy in order to reduce carbon emissions. ... When it comes to light that the carbon scare was known to be bogus in 2008, the ALP is going to be regarded as criminally negligent or ideologically stupid for not having seen through it."

      The next article [sent us by a concerned citizen of Australia] illustrates the result of government control over private property through "carbon credits" -- which are justified by the supposed "global warming" crisis! I am not familiar with this website, but Mr. Spencer seems to be speaking for numerous distressed Australian farmers who are losing the right to farm their own land.

      Here in America, other "crisis" issues have been used by the government to control and limit private land use without providing compensation:  (1)"endangered species" that prove not to be endangered, (2) defining good farmland as "wet lands" though these areas are neither unusually "wet" nor needed by birds or mammals, and (3) "saving" a tiny fish by denying water to farmers in California's Central Valley -- a large rich farming area. 

Government Control. Australia: "It’s Day 43 without food, and Peter Spencer grows weaker. For those who don’t know, Peter Spencer’s farm has been stolen from him by our government through Native Vegetation Legislation — which locked up 80 – 90% of his entire farm but paid him no compensation. The regrowth on his farm holds 'carbon credits' of supposed value to the Commonwealth, yet Peter has been obliged by law to pay the rates on that land-that-holds-these-carbon-credits, and the mortgage for the right to do nothing with this land that really belongs to the Commonwealth. Is this not an extortionate tax?... Peter Spencer tried ingenious means to work within the rules. But he has been driven into bankruptcy. ... Here is a top farmer, producing the finest merino wool or high grade trout, and even prepared to set up a wind farm, but has been cut to pieces bit by bit as each legislative change robbed him and his ingenuity of every possible productive use of his property."
