There's No Power in This Blood!  "Visit a Christian bookstore or publishing house Website and you might be surprised how many vampire-themed books you will see. What's wrong with the picture? Legions of people will tell you that nothing is wrong. They are, in fact, trying to sanctify vampirism....
      "...one Christian publishing house after another is turning away solid manuscripts for corrupted ones on this demented topic. What an example of Isaiah 5:20 with evil being called good.... Allen Arnold of Thomas Nelson Publishers... states, 'Since the story of Christianity is one of redemption, Christian fiction should depict that redemption regardless of the subject matter. Rather than flee from a genre (like vampirism), we prefer to dive in and try to redeem it through a wholly original take.'"

      God's Word tells us to abhor evil! No person can "redeem" evil! The above quote illustrates today's utter corruption of Biblical words such as "redemption." See Twilight Obsession

High school performs 'gay' musical on Thanksgiving: "'Community residents are very concerned about the production's vulgar sexuality and anti-family message,' writes MassResistance – a local group that counters promotion of homosexuality.... 'Not content with inflicting this on the community in the weeks before Christmas, the school has added a sneak preview scheduled on Thanksgiving Day.'...'Public school officials in Massachusetts... seem to be looking for creative ways to push the homosexual agenda in the most offensive ways possible." February 17, 2001 New hymnal hits sour note for some: "A new 284-song supplement to the official United Methodist Hymnal is striking a sour note with some church leaders for lyrics that refer to God in feminine terms including 'Mothering Christ,' 'Womb of Life,' and 'strong mother God.' The five songs in The Faith We Sing that describe God as female are being decried as 'radical feminist theology,' both inaccurate and unacceptable.

Fury as art exhibition encourages visitors to deface the Bible: "An art exhibition where people are encouraged to write in a Bible has seen visitors daub abuse and obscenities across its pages.... Next to the copy of the Bible ... is a container of pens and a notice, which says: 'If you feel you have been excluded from the Bible, please write your way back into it.' ....The exhibition was created by artists Anthony Schrag and David Malone, alongside organisations representing gay Christians and Muslims." The New Thing: "The authors spoke in the Foreword of a 'new vision of God,' a 'new strategy,' and 'new forms' for the institutional Church. This, they said, would be based on compromise, writing that 'the mark of the emerging Church will be its emphasis on both-and,' meaning that they would 'not choose up sides' theologically. Obama's Other Controversial Church: "Had a reporter asked Obama: 'So what were you doing during Bill Ayers' fugitive days?' An honest answer would be: 'I was going to Sunday school at a church which had provided sanctuary to US military deserters.' While John McCain was being tortured as a prisoner of war in Hanoi, First Unitarian Church of Honolulu -- at which the elementary-age Obama would later attend Sunday school after returning from Indonesia in 1970 or 71 -- was sheltering deserters and AWOLs recruited by ‘flirty fishing' coeds from a Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) group known as 'The Resistance'." Following atheist trend, Britons seek 'de-baptism': "More than 100,000 Britons have recently downloaded 'certificates of de-baptism' from the Internet to renounce their Christian faith. The initiative launched by a group called the National Secular Society (NSS) follows atheist campaigns here and elsewhere, including a London bus poster which triggered protests by proclaiming 'There's probably no God.'....

"Obama as Christ" Statue Causes Commotion in Chicago!: "Some call it art. Other call it blasphemy. A new piece of art showing Senator Barack Obama as Jesus Christ is now on display at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago."

The next five links deal with a corrupt new "Bible." Apparently, the symbol shown on its cover represents the ("spiritual" but not "religious" ) designer behind this unholy project. The dot in the center of the symbol represents some kind of universal Mind or "God," not our holy Lord.

Mocking Truth.  Angelina Jolie, Bono and Nelson Mandela feature in Vogue-style Bible: "Instead of following the usual Bible format - lots of words but somewhat lacking in celebrity portraits - Swedish ad man Dag Soderberg has decided to repackage it in the style of Vogue. Passages are written out in a magazine-style format and accompanied by striking images. Jolie's picture is included alongside Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and U2 frontman Bono, to illustrate the importance of doing good deeds.... The Book: A sexy coffee table Bible to show off your historical savoir-faire: "The first project Illuminated World took on was a sexy, glossy magazine format version of the formerly-holy Bible, with shots of Angelina Jolie, monks on fire, polar bears and brand-name beverages. The 'illuminators“, partnered with The American Bible Society, offer 'to introduce today’s audience to a…contemporary Bible'... a well-designed, sexy Bible..."

Disinformation: "This fall will see the US release of Bible Illuminated: The Book, an illustrated Bible outfitted with provocative photography. Take, for example, Revelation, which features a photo of a man on fire."

The Church Has Become A Circus... Literally: "Methodist Pastor Jim Lavender [is] riding an elephant during an outdoor church service. Lutheran Pastor Rick Hartmann... attempts to justify dressing like a clown to lead communion by stating that 'clown' means 'clod' (buffoon), and God used a clod (of dirt) to make man.... He claims we are to be 'fools' for Christ. Therefore, we should put on face paint and honk horns during worship....

      "Here is a picture of some Episcopalian priests holding up the elements for Clown Communion in New York City.... How does a grown man conclude with a straight face, 'I think it would be a good idea to dress like Wiggles for church?'" See The Holiness of God

Electing to Be Open, A Christian Writing Festival Invites Nonbelievers: "Yes, the festival workshops and lectures over the years have been given mostly by Christian editors, authors and publishers... But less likely invitees, too, have been paid to speak to the faithful. ...past keynote speakers have included critically acclaimed writers who oppose Christianity or who argue that it is merely as helpful as other faiths. Another keynote speaker last month was Yann Martel, the author of 'Life of Pi,' whose protagonist practices three religions: Christianity, Hinduism and Islam....

      "'It's important to look at artists who have seriously engaged faith, though maybe even rejected it, so that we can better understand how faith functions and how story functions,' said Donald R. Hettinga, a professor of English and co-chairman of the festival. 'This doesn't weaken or threaten our faith.'...

Is Earth our Mother? "Watching the [1990 Earth Day church celebration], I wondered if the Creator Himself would have been welcome. At one point, the members of the youth group stepped forward to present their offerings: 'I bring to our Mother, the Earth, the gift of a new beginning…' 'I bring to our Mother , the Earth, the birth of a new consciousness.' 'I bring to our Mother, the Earth, the gift of immortality that you may live forever cherished by your beloved children.'... The congregation responded to this strange ritual with a standing ovation. Did these people know whom they worshiped? Had environmental concern swung church doors wide open to paganism? Could this really be happening in a supposedly conservative church?"
